  1. Oh but they're using titanium for prosthetics now! Much more durable Wow......POeter could be a new version of the Bionic Man! Hah! When I saw that DC had posted I was sure he was here to contribute to POeter's dilemma. He must get e-mail alerts when the testosterone level (albeit minimal, and I'm only saying that because Peter started it...
  2. Did I really want to know this about POeter? I guess it's only fair if you consider what he has probably read about us
  3. What a lucky man! It's not every day a woman offers the use of her miter saw
  4. Well.....let's look at the bright side. Psillyville has been a little tumbleweedy, lately. I'm sure her move will provide lots of interesting stories. You might even want to start a book, Em. Ummmm.......isn't there somebody who should be warned, though? Do you have, like, a National Guard or sumphin' up there in Canada?.....the highway patrol...
  5. Well now......sounds like you've been keeping something from us! Babble away! He sounds fascinating already
  6. As a teenager I noticed a correlation between caffeine and much of my acne problems. Just one glass of iced tea and my face would turn into an oil slick. As I got older I started having problems with cystic acne, and have since discovered my issue with sugar, including grains, starches, fruit...which I have completely eliminated. Now no more major zits...
  7. Whew! NOW I'm ready for the new year to begin! Happy New Year everybody!
  8. I haven't tried freezing it, but it should be ok, right? I'm limited on how often I can eat potatoes, so it has gone to waste sometimes. (Don't know why I didn't try freezing it, but you know how it is....."oh I'll use this in the next few days......" Uh huh ) I have used it to make mashed potatoes, back when I could eat it more often. I'm afraid potatoes...
  9. I'm making potato skins. I use the really small potatoes (forget what they're called), olive oil instead of vegetable, and no paprika. Open Original Shared Link
  10. I used to get a burning sensation on my forearm, and as others have said, no visible symptoms. I think it was one of my many symptoms of celiac, although it never seemed to happen if I was accidentally glutened. I can't remember the last time it occurred, so I feel that I have finally healed from that and other issues I was dealing with in the beginning.
  11. Exactly. It seems that for some people who have been gluten free for a number of years and then do a challenge, it takes awhile for the damage being done to manifest itself into noticeable symptoms. You've probably done a good job of eating gluten-free for the past few years and you intestines are in pretty good shape.....unless you continue to eat gluten...
  12. The more you can stick to simple and naturally gluten-free foods.....meat, fish, veggies, etc., the less label reading necessary.Stay away from processed foods for awhile, except the ones you are already comfortable with. Then venture out and try something new occassionally that may require some investigating. Hopefully this will eliminate some of your stress...
  13. Quoting myself here because things have gotten worse in the past year. Currently I am not able to eat ANY form of sugar. No rice or rice flours, corn or corn flours. Not one speck of sugar in any form. However....probably not the healthiest thing but my only self-indulgence these days....I CAN eat sugar free chocolate. I have been to an allergist this...
  14. Ahhhh yes.....the lunchroom. I think there's been a different gluteny "treat" brought in to share every day for the whole month of December. It feels good to realize that I won't be one of those people struggling with their holiday weight gain. But I must say that for the first time in years, I was able to eat the company holiday lunch. It was a potato...
  15. You were in Florida and came back HERE? Hope you got your fill of sunshine while you were there. .....and I hope you didn't pay extra for those packages to arrive 5 days late!
  16. Mmmmmmm.....the day after Christmas.....love it! Just chillin' in front of the TV, crossword puzzle, leftovers, and now getting ready to cuddle up with a book. Oh....and the best part......hit the after Christmas sales this morning with a few gift cards Christmas never fails to stress me out, even though I have greatly reduced my expectations...
  17. Brain fog was the worst. It got to the point where I was afraid to speak, because nothing would come out of my mouth the way I wanted it to, and I sounded like an idiot.....fumbling for words, confusion, slurred speech.Self-esteem was at an all-time low.
  18. Hopefully he will change his tune after you've been gluten free for a while and he sees how much better you feel. I never got an official diagnosis, and my hubby is my biggest supporter. He will speak up at restaurants before I get a chance. And I really don't spend any more on groceries....just eat simply. No processed food, except for my pizza crust...
  19. .....and the other food intolerances that appear. ....and having to prepare every meal. Before gluten free, I had reached a point in my life where I had decided that I was tired of cooking. Kids are grown....I'm just going to slack off. Oh well....I probably would've been eating a lot of processed food. I am eating much healthier this way.
  20. Me too....sadly.
  21. I came hear to find out WHY people were still commenting on the dots question! I see some of the psillies from the Tickle Me thread have escaped again Oh.....and I hope none of you are expecting GOOD luck with a flipover
  22. Love it!!!!
  23. Wait........ .....you have 5 cars?
  24. The cops never asked for my plate number. As long as you can remember your name and date of birth, they're good to go Aren't computers wonderful?
