  1. Good ideas! Thanks guys
  2. Ummm...They didn't say if it was negatives or weak positives? She doesn't have a ton of symptoms, she just seems to spend some extra time in the bathroom Me not really knowing whats normal and what isn't, sort of panicked, and wanted to have her tested before I keep loading her up on regular breads and pastas...She does seem to have a bit of stomach pain...
  3. Yep, I've enjoyed it several times with no problems! They also have gluten free beer there
  4. Just wondering what kinds of foods moms and dads pack for their kids school lunches? Any good breads you've discovered for sandwiches? Any other simple hand held food??
  5. Hi There, just got my 8 y/o daughter blood tested...They said the tests were negative, but it appears she has an IgA deficiancy, which I've never heard of, but apparently can make the celiac tests give a false negative...anyone else have this problem or know anything about it??
  6. Wow, so very happy that you have found out for sure!! She will start to feel so much better once the gluten is cut from her life I also have an 8 y/o daughter, we are in the midst of trying to figure out of she has it to. Thank you for pressuring the doctors to do more and find whats wrong with your daughter! You should definately get the blood test too...
  7. Thanks I have switched to a brand that says specifically "gluten free"...I have also eliminated just about everything from my diet except fresh fruit and veg juice, cottage cheese, and gluten free soups...I feel like I need to heal...I'll give it a few days and slowly add more things back in...
  8. b12 deficiency can cause vision problems, celiac or gluten intolerance can cause b12 deficiency!!!
  9. Ugh I need opinions!! Apparently I have a b12 deficiency which was discovered after some numbness/tingling in my arms and feet...Ok. So, started taking b12 vitamins and also one a days...yah...have been VERY careful about what I've been eating...for the past 3 weeks I've had weird, celiac sounding but not quite feeling symptoms....literally, EVERY time...
  10. OMG I'm so sorry I only read your first post!!! Yes legal is definately worht it
  11. if you live in or around Boston, you know Legal seafood and legal test kitchen are both very gluten free friendly? And AMAZING. THEY ARE MY favorite places ever Good luck
  12. I've purposely glutened myself a couple times. Not because I wanted to see what the reaction would be (I already know) but because I HAD to have something...The last time I did it, it was pizza and the wierd thing was the pizza didn't even taste good...I asked my mom if she thought it tasted funny and she said no it tasted normal, so maybe my tastes are changing...
  13. I seem to accidentaly gluten myself every other week...As you can imagine I'm pretty much out of commission for 2 or so days...I cannot possibly function at work with having to run to the bathroom every 20 minutes and well, you know the rest...I've had the same job for a while, pre diagnosis and they knew I had issues but I just don't think the understand...
  14. Thank you guys again! I will definately try these ideas. Thank you! I emailed mary kay to see if their cream was gluten free. They emailed me back and told me to call. I called. They told me they can't say for sure if it contains gluten or not... I had a beef jerky stick. I shouldn't have. On the label it said "flavorings, seasonings". I called. They...
  15. Thank you missys mom. It was a frozen premade mac n cheese, so none of those things applied. But the more I've been thinking about it, I do think it could be my mary kay cream that I've been using on my lips. I was doing really good for a while (wasn't using it) and just the past 2 or 3 weeks (using it) I've been experiencing symptoms...I emailed them so...
  16. Wow I totally feel your pain! I think you are doing a good job of avoiding the cc, I guess if it's working keep it up! I know what you mean about family and freinds they think they're so helpful. I went to my friends bbq, I asked her to ask her bf to leave some meat plain..He said sure no problem. When it came time to eat he said here's the plain chicken...
  17. You guys are absolutely genius. Thank you all for your help. I decided to venture out to Whole Foods today. I am lucky enough to live pretty closely. It was an interesting experience. I spent 70$ and left w/ 2 bags. I then went to a regular grocery store for milk and such and spent 70$ for about 10 bags of groceries...I guess Whole Foods will be a once in...
  18. People I know this is stupid. But I am HATING this gluten-free stuff. It seems like no matter how hard I try, apparently I accidentally ingest gluten. And then for the next 4 days, no matter what I eat, everytime I eat, I get the big D. At least the pain isn't as bad as it was before but still, 4 days of the snakes is hardly fun. Food is literally my...
  19. MMM I've been loving the rice chex w/ some bananas or blue berries! Yummy. And it kinda feels like eating ice cream...Haha not really but you get the point.
  20. Wow I'm glad you posted this b/c I've only been gluten free for about a month but have noticed I've been getting heartburn a couple times a week, whereas before the only other time I had it was when I was pregnant. Guess I'll have to reevaluate some things.
  21. Wow thank you so much for taking the time to find that out. I suspect that at my local dairy queen, I could walk in and ask the 16 year old girl behind the counter if that was what she did when she was trained and she would tell the truth... That's interesting to know they may do that, I would have NEVER thought of that. Thanks all for the responses!
  22. This is probably a dumb question, but I'm wondering something. If I ingest one teeny tiny crumb, would I suffer the same excuriation pain as if I had ingested an entire plate of pasta? I'm still new to this and I seem to get a little belly ache sometimes and wonder if I've been "a little bit" contaminated or if my belly ache is just due to something...
  23. Yes it was the wing sauce. I steared clear of the regular hot sauce because the first ingredient listed was vinegar, and I thought vinegar was a no no? unless it was distilled? I was just pouring it over a piece of grilled chicken and putting it in a salad. I don't know maybe it wasn't the hot sauce but something has sure got me. Ugh. It makes me want...
  24. Yes I've heard about the envelopes containing gluten, still I forget and lick! When I remember tho I feel just a little safer
  25. Yah! That's awesome! Thanks for sharing.
