  1. have you considered seeing a naturopath? I'm not sure what state you are in but in the seattle area there are quite a few good doctors that I have found (after seeing a bunch of really bad ones!) anyway it is worth a try!

    ARCHIVED Great Dr In Seattle

ok had the upper endoscopy done yesterday. dr. said he found signs of celiac disease but took biopsies to be sure. also too biopsies of my esophagus said he saw signs of eosinophilic esophagitis. will get results for both things in a few days. I had him re-test my blood because I had un-knowingly not eaten gluten for about 3 days prior to my other blood tests...

    ARCHIVED Great Dr In Seattle

thanks I've been through so many doctors I was starting to feel like I was just gonna have to do this on my own but this doctor seems to truly care about his patients and celiac disease is one of his specialties... he is also willing to work with my naturopath which is a difficult thing to find!

    ARCHIVED Great Dr In Seattle

I found a really good gastroenterologist in seattle today. his name is Young Oh and he is at Minor and James. he specialises in celiac and was very friendly and knowledgable. will be doing the endoscopy inless than 2 weeks so I'm suppsed to eat gluten again. been gluten-free for about a month. I might see f he will redo my bloods too!
  6. can you explain the cysts thing? I have lots of cysts on my head... but by cyst do you mean things that go away? or like bumps that stay and get bigger???
  7. no offense taken but I think you should know some things I was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia and my DR. gave me some info on it I have a thing from the "3rd annual fibromyalgia research conference" in seattle washington it is from 1994 but the info is good FIBROMYALGIA GENERAL FINDINGS: "Researchers have now PROVEN that FM is NOT a psychiatric...
  8. do you have a sesame allergy?
  9. my ND is covered by my insurance but when I went to her I got a statement from the insurance company saying that my responsibility was almost $900 and that my ND wasn't covered ($260 for first 2 hour visit) and that the lab work wasn't covered either... anyway my ND had done some tests related to hair loss and the insurance doesn't cover that because they...
  10. have you looked at Open Original Shared Link ? they have quite a few natural sunscreens there... I generally don't use sunscreen on my kids even though I should... we're in washington state so we don't get that much sun. if it is a hot sunny day and they want to play outside for very long I will use some and I generally try to keep them in the shade anyway...
  11. thanks. a lb. of it was back again this morning... maybe since I have found more carb substitutes hehe sorry you can't exercise... I would love to have a prescription from my dr. telling me to not exercise! must be hard when you actually want to though. and I am feeling better lately and actually enjoy going for a walk now where before it was a huge...
  12. how much does lactose free milk cost anyway?
  13. thanks I will write down the ingredients he eats yogurt and cheese (loves string cheese especially) he has never actually complained of a tummy ache in the past its just that he will cry if I ever tried to give him milk in the past... thats why I was so surprised when he asked for milk... I was thinking he must be feeling better if he is actually requesting...
  14. well, he would eat about 1/2 a bowl of cereal with milk on it about once a week and he loves yogurt and cheese... so dairy is definitely in his diet... its just that he doesn't normally like milk, he will choose water over milk and if given the choice juice over either (I'm sure the juice thing is a pretty normal kid response!)
  15. I think I read on some of the medical sites when I was researching symptoms and stuff that celiacs are at a higher risk or have a higher incidence of other food related allergies... I don't think it was just those on the gluten-free diet though... I think its just how their immune systems act... or overreact to things... maybe the reason people notice it...
  16. ok, my almost 4 year old son has NEVER liked to drink milk... since being gluten free for a week he is asking for milk to drink... he says its yummy... he used to cry if he even had milk on his cereal in the morning... the problem is that tonight after he drank about 4 oz of milk at dinner time and went to bed he woke up with a tummy ache... I'm assuming...
  17. Open Original Shared Link this site is interesting... talks about overdoses of vitamins... I didn't see anything on there about B12 causing fatigue but it does say high levels of B15 does... anyway maybe you should take a look at it
  18. she should have done the whole celiac panel... I think there are 3 tests in it (?) Open Original Shared Link CBC is your complete blood count... to look for anemia etc. someone else can answer your questions better than me though as I'm new to this too and haven't been diagnosed yet
  19. I haven't been diagnosed yet and im sure someone on here can answer your questions better but I think you can have celiac disease or at least a gluten intolerance with negative blood and biopsy... I'm sure someone can either say I'm wrong or confirm what i"ve said soon enough if you are seeing such an improvement then I would stick to the gluten-free...
  20. I haven't been diagnosed yet but am doing great on the gluten-free diet and I just lost 5 lb. in a week... the only thing different is that I'm eating gluten-free... I'm not even counting calories or WWpoints anymore. if you look on most sites that list the symptoms of Celiac disease they will usually say that weight gain is a symptom so you can't be too...
  21. I know that the leg pain definitely seems to be and when I searched on google for "night terror celiac" it came up with almost 80,000 links to do with that... I read a few and it does seem to be a symptom
  22. well I lost 5 lb. in the last week since starting the gluten free diet... went from 203 down to 197... I was on weight watchers before and having a really hard time losing and I haven't been even paying attention to calories anymore... just eating when I'm hungry... who knew that gluten was what stopped me from losing weight! I've even been snacking on those...
