ARCHIVED Eating Gluten Before Blood Test?Aleshia replied to LuvMoosic4life's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms I have another question... if you have been eating gluten and haven't gone gluten free for more than a day and then you eat gluten for like a week but don't have any breakfast on the day of your test can you get a false negative?? I just ran out of time for breakfast before my appointment and it all came back negative and now I don't know what to think cause...

ARCHIVED Gritty Loose Stools From FiberAleshia replied to Aleshia's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs well, I had to drive a couple of hours to my parents house last night with the kids and didn't have time to fix them dinner so we ended up doing mcdonalds... I still wanted to be at least concious of the gluten so got them nuggets instead of cheeseburgers cause I figured the batter on the nuggets would be less gluten than the buns on the burger... I know...

ARCHIVED Baby With Growth Way Off The Charts High And Then Dropped.Aleshia replied to Aleshia's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs thanks I'll look into it. I actually have a naturopath dr that I see sometimes, she is the one that did my blood test (should have results back in about 3 days!) anyway she sees children and I trust her so I'm gonna get the kids an appointment asap. She may not catch everything the first time but she listens to what I have to say and takes it seriously and...

I have WAY more symptoms than that! I haven't counted them all but I think it is close to 60 different things. those are just the ones that match the menopause symptoms... I'm 30 btw feel much older than that though

hi, I've been having quite a few menopause symptoms and I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on my test results for different things, these were done about a year ago so I don't know how much has changed but with how I feel I don't think it would be much! at the time of the tests I was nursing. I weaned my baby about 6 months ago. but I still get...

ARCHIVED Totally FrustratedAleshia replied to Aleshia's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs I think that doctors should listen when people have a problem even if they can't see it with their own eyes or its not happening to them, they should try to figure out what is wrong and run tests till they have either figured out the problem or there are no more tests to run... shouldn't it be up to the patient if they think a test is too expensive or too...

ARCHIVED Totally FrustratedAleshia replied to Aleshia's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs I'm not sure exactly but when I call to schedule the test at the hospital lab I will be sure to ask them if they don't know then I will call the ped. office and maybe the nurse can tell me what has been ordered...

well I decided today to take the kids in to see a different pediatrician and get another opinion cause the other ped. wasn't listening. this one was even worse! normally I'm really not very assertive with people, especially if they seem more knowledgable etc. or have a different opinion than me. but this dr. just made me so angry that I was raising my voice...

ARCHIVED Baby With Growth Way Off The Charts High And Then Dropped.Aleshia replied to Aleshia's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs hi, thanks. I know how many percentiles he would have crossed since he was so high off the charts! I know he did cross some though... its just not being taken seriously I think I'm going to show the dr. the growth chart that I did myself and show her just how much of a difference there is... its just scary to think that my baby has only gained 2 lb.s in...

ARCHIVED Dental Enamel Defects And Celiac DiseaseAleshia replied to happygirl's topic in Related Issues & Disorders my dentist said that even though I have severe cavities that weren't there 2 years ago (practically every tooth in my mouth needs something done to it) that she didn't think it had anything to do with celiac... I have white spots on some teeth and brown spots on other teeth and have had to have so many fillings and crowns and a root canal.... anyway I also...

I've seen quite a few sites that linked severe cramps and endometriosis to celiac disease try searching on google with keywords "celiac endometriosis" and you should find some. I had severe cramps starting about a year after i started menstrating. it was really horrible... I got a laparoscopy done to look for endometriosis when I was 23 cause I couldn't get...

ARCHIVED Baby With Growth Way Off The Charts High And Then Dropped.Aleshia replied to Aleshia's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs well considering he is currently in the 90th percentile I would say it is gonna be a LONG time before he falls off the charts stupid dr.s... I have had very few good experiences with dr.s in my life! and even then they end up disappointing me somewhere along the line...

ARCHIVED Baby With Growth Way Off The Charts High And Then Dropped.Aleshia replied to Aleshia's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs in some ways I'm glad I'm not the only one! but in other ways I'm sad that someone else has to go through the uncertainty. did your dr say anything about it? I neglected to take zimri to the dr for well child checks because he was still so chubby and happy and his developement other than that seemed to be so good and I wasn't getting him immunized on the...

ARCHIVED Baby With Growth Way Off The Charts High And Then Dropped.Aleshia replied to Aleshia's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs thanks ursa I'm just not sure what to think, I haven't even been diagnosed yet. I just had the blood draw for the celiac panel done today and on tuesday I had an ultrasound and they discovered gallstones. my dr. who is an internist was pretty convinced that there is no way that I could have celiac disease because I don't have diarrhea and I haven't been...

ARCHIVED Baby With Growth Way Off The Charts High And Then Dropped.Aleshia posted a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs has anyone had a baby who was born big, gained huge amounts of weight in the first 4 months and then lost a few pounds before a year? my baby would have been in like the 140'th or higher percentile by the time he was 3 months old. he went from over 10 lb at birth to 26 lb by 4 mo. and then dropped to 24 lb by 11 mo. he's 16 mo now and is 28.5 lb which means...

ARCHIVED Moms With Young KidsAleshia replied to AmyandSabastian's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs hi, neither myself or any of my kids have been diagnosed yet but my baby (16 months) stopped gaining weight at 4 months old. the dr won't take it seriously though because I didn't take him for well child checks cause I wasn't having him vaccinated and he was still chubby. his weight just stopped going up. he was 10 lb 2 oz at birth and by 4 months he was...

ARCHIVED Gritty Loose Stools From FiberAleshia posted a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs hi, my son hasn't been diagnosed yet because the pediatrician wants to find out if my tests come back positive first (which I think is just stupid because he has symptoms! so why should it matter if I have it or not!) anyway, if he has raisin bran or shredded wheat of any other high fiber cereal for breakfast his stools are like sand. he will be 4 in july...
