  1. my sister has ITP and the naturopath said the only thing she found to bring up the platelets was sesame oil... I don't know if what your daughter has is anything to do with platelets but you could maybe try and see if the sesame oil would help it? I think they said about a teaspoon a day
  2. that is frustrating! and what you describe is exactly what I was having when I was ON gluten! amazing. I hope it passes for you!

    ARCHIVED Great Dr In Seattle

ok so here are the results... biopsies of esophagus came back "normal" biopsies of duodenum came back "mild nonspecific increase in inflammatory cells w/out obvious evidence of celiac sprue" not sure where to go from here should I get a followup appt?
  4. how long should I have the kids eating gluten if I wanted the test to be more accurate??
  5. I don't remember much of my symptoms as a child but my mom tells me that I had pitted teeth and constantly had very large stools that were like wet sand (my son gets the same when he is on gluten) when I was 3 I got a very high fever an then ended up with geographic tongue which the doctor just looked at and said I was ok it was just something that some people...
  6. ok, so I've had lots of symptoms my whole life. none of them really were gastric though. in the last 3-4 years I have lost 2 inches of height, I have bone loss shown in my hips (by bone scan) brain fog, memory loss, tingling in hands and feet etc etc etc. too many symptoms to list (if anyone is interested they can find one of my other posts cause I think...
  7. thanks for all the replies... my temp lately has been almost normal and when I get a fever it is a real fever... sometimes I just won't "feel good" and take my temp and it is around 99 I will have to look into the wilsons syndrome thing and also about hte T3 and T4... anyone know if your body can "repair itself" from pregnancy? after my second child I no...
  8. you mentioned eye retinas... this is about the same age that my eyes started going bad although I didn't get glasses until I was 19... I couldn't make out people's faces across a room and failed my driving test because I was "too cautious"... would that be from this same thing also? I just went to the eye doc (hadn't had an eye exam in about 8 years!!) and...
  9. Romio's in greenwood is supposed to be using Davinci's pizza crust soon.. not sure when that will start though!
  10. I'm 30 and just figuring out what is wrong with me. I know the feeling of my back gonna collapse... I've lost 2 inches of height and sometimes it feels like my ribs and my hips are gonna hit each other! I love horse riding but don't do it much because of my knee joints, they get stuck in one position and then changing that position is soooo painful! I...
  11. sorry I don't have the answers... I probably wouldn't trust the breadmachine just because I know mine is hard to get totally clean afterward... not sure about the toaster as waffles aren't crumbly like bread... but the gluten could still stick to it... maybe someone with more experience could help more

    ARCHIVED Very Confused

gluten causes your body to have withdrawal symptoms when you go off of it. maybe that is some of what you are experiencing?
  14. found this site interesting, it explains a bit about why your body reacts badly when you first go off of gluten Open Original Shared Link
  15. when I was about 16 my temp was always really low... around 96.6 I used to be really tired and get sick a lot. I was at a boarding school and the school nurse just told me that I was depressed, didn't want to be around anyone, and needed to go see the counselor. anyway, I ended up dropping out of school for the rest of the year and my grandma took me to her...
  16. I agree. thats how it was for me, I had all kinds of symptoms that weren't typical but after going off gluten and back on again I started getting stomach pain from it
  17. I went off gluten for about a month and 1/2 and my GI told me that I would only need to be back on gluten for 5 -7 days for the biopsy. also my pediatrician just told me that the GI's at childrens hospital told them that a month off of gluten wouldn't affect a blood test... I disagree with that so will have the kids on gluten for about 3 days before hand...
  18. I have a breadman got it at fred meyers seems to work pretty good and has a gluten free setting
  19. not sure what age but I know what you mean about doctors not taking the bone thing seriously! I'm 30 and lost 2 inches of height in the last 3-4 years and had to go to so many doctors to get one to even talk about it! finally found a naturopath who sent me to get a bone density scan. my spine is fine but I've had bone loss in my hips showing osteopenia. at...
  20. celiac disease is a gluten intolerance disease. I "zone out" when I have gluten. if you have a "gluten allergy" as you said you probably shouldn't be eating toast unless it is gluten-free gluten is in wheat rye and barley
  21. don't know how long you've been TTC but i just wanted to encourage you. it took 3 years to get pregnant with my daughter who is now 5. the time it took to concieve has worked as a reminder of just how special she is when I get overwhelmed or when she is misbehaving I got pregnant again when she was 7 months old (I was thinking its not gonna happen that soon...
  22. when I had been gluten free for about a month my doctor to me that a week of eating gluten again would be enough to show a reaction for an endoscopy or blood test so that I wouldn't have to be suffering from the challenge (you feel worse after you've been off gluten when you go back to eating it) I never had any stomach issues really from it until I had been...
  23. there is a book by a new zealand doctor that you could get that has lunch ideas in it. it's by Rodney Ford you can go to www.doctorgluten.org to get it
  24. I get this. its not just on my hands and feet though... its everywhere! worst on my face and neck. I get it after a shower. my naturopath said it is yeast related. and I know a lot of celiacs seem to have yeast/candida problems in their gut....
