  2. burdee...I am just curiuos ....why do you choose the generic T3 over brand? Why did you decide to only take T3 and how much do you take? I currently take 55mcg of cytomel and 25 mcg of synthroid. I am thinking of stopping the T4 all together.
  3. I just looked up some of those different protein powders and I think I am going to try the hemp next. Thanks for the info!! I guess it couldn't hurt to take an amino acid supp too. I will also try to eat more meat.
  4. I want to start taking a protein supplement because my diet low in protein. I tried a few whey protein powders so far but they (like everything else)bothered my stomach. Would taking amino acid caps do the same thing for me as taking protein powder? My main goal is to provide my muscles and connective tissues with what they need to recover from an injury...
  5. I saw kind has put out a gluten free granola. There are several different varieties and they are made with gluten free oats. I have stayed away from oats for years but I really want to try this granola. Do you eat certified gluten free oats with or without problems? I read so much conflicting info about it I have always just satyed away.
  6. I know this might sound dumb....but I just heated up some gluten filled lasagna for my boyfriend in the microwave. When I took it out I noticed condensation inside the microwave from it. Does that condensation contain gluten because it came from a gluten source? Do I need to get my own microwave?
  7. well I guess that settles it. I was going through some cabinets last week and I found a few bottles of my old shampoo that contains hydrolyzed wheat protein and I just can't get rid of them. I love that stuff and it was expensive too. Oh well
  8. Are we still avoiding hydrolyzed wheat protein in our shampoos? I read they are safe for celiacs and I read they are unsafe for celiacs.... What's the final word?
  9. let me rephrase that...how does soy affect you?

  12. I agree with your Dr. about the fluctuation in generics, but you have other brand name T4 options.
  13. I love kirkman labs. They have hypoallergenic versions of all kinds of supplements. I take the hypo adult advanced multi vitamin/mineral.
  14. I take a combo of Synthroid and Cytomel. Are you on generic T3? I always wondered if the Synthroid was gluten free because I have heard so many different things about it. If you don't mind me asking.....how much T4 and T3 do you take? I take 25mcg of Synthroid and 70mcg of cytomel. I do plan on switching things up soon. I hear good things about natural...
  15. I want to start taking a probiotic but there are so many choices. I see some are refrigerated also. I really don't care about pricing at this point. 17. My favorite flour blend was arrowhead mills gluten free all purpose flour blend untill they just recently reformulated it. They substituted xanthan gum in place of guar gum and I think I may be reacting to it. Is that even possible? Well, I was looking up different recipes to try and make my own and everything calls for xanthan gum. Are the two gums interchangeable...
  18. about a month after going gluten free I had horrible HORRIBLE headaches and they lasted for a very long time. I was tested for everything but none of the Drs I saw could find a reason why. A few people suggested something called gluten withdrawal. Months later I was dx with hashimoto's (autoimmune hypothyroidism) and after finding the right treatment for...
  19. My last blood work came back with elevated ALKALINE PHOSPHATASE and AST. Is this normal for a celiac following a gluten free diet?
  20. Last night I took my daughter to Dairy Queen. She got a heath bar blizzard and I got vanilla in a cup. I live next door to dairy queen so this is something my daughter and I do frequently and I have never gotten sick. She usually lets me have a taste of hers before she starts to eat it (if it is gluten free) so I took a big spoonful and another big spoonful...

    ARCHIVED Bertucci's

My family and I went to Bertucci's on Saturday night. I am the only one with Celiac....so far. Anyway, I ended up not getting anything because this restaurant was so dirty. There were crumbs on the table and chairs before we sat down, the plates given to us for appitizers gad grease all over them, and the waitress could not answer any of my questions about...
  22. That pizza story is horrible. I used to work in a pharmacy when I was in high school and I always saw the pharmacy staff eating while working. There are so many things we have to worry about.
  23. I take several prescriptions drugs a day and I spent a lot of time making sure they are gluten free. The last time I picked up my medication from the pharmacy my sister (who is the pharmacist) told me she always washes the pill tray off before she counts out my pills so CC would not be an issue. I was surprised because I never even thought about that one...
