    ARCHIVED Surprised!

That was a genetic test which does not diagnose Celiac. It is possible your Doctor would dx with symptoms and genetic testing, but that would be unusual. Most doctors will run antibody blood tests: tTG-IgA or tissue transglutaminase-IgA AGA-IgG or Antigliadin IgG AGA-IgA or Antigliadin IGA Total IGA And then depending on the results of these, a...
  2. Im off the grains as well. I always had issues with oats. I would eat them and then go into a "coma". I used to eat them late at night when I couldnt sleep.....but would wake with a "hangover". I stopped the oats before gluten. Rice seems to be an issue for me as well...... I only have a few tlb of amaranth flour a week for one recipe. I do fine...
  3. Im not the "relaxing" type myself......but the Rebuilder does do it for me. I have had it for about 4 years. I pray it doenst break because they are not cheap.
  4. Hi Sara, First I understand your frustration. Let's see if we can help you. You say you dont eat wheat, but do you make sure you are not getting BARLEY or RYE in anything?? Malt? Your vitamins have E in it from unknown source? Your hair care and skin creams, toothpaste, etc? They change formulations all of the time. It could be that you are...
  5. I will be brief: You need to get yourself on a gluten free diet ASAP so you dont get as ill as your sister. YOU HAVE CELIAC DISEASE based on your tests and even some of the biopsy reports. A diagnosis depends on the physician interpreting results. Some doctors would not even have put you through a biopsy. You would have been dx based on blood and...
  6. Adding some magnesium can help. Most people are short on it anyway. You want to take calcium with it, but take at different times so they dont compete for absorption.
  7. Neem is an herb from India. If you Google it, you can learn a lot about it.
  8. Key West has a lot of restaurants with "real chefs" who can accomodate you, so that would be my vote.
  9. Not sure what help you are asking for, but since you focused on "oils" let me try. I buy Chia oil for Omega 3's and Fish oil. Chia can be uses like flax in salad dressings and such. It has EVEN more Omega 3's than flax. You can also buy hazelnut oil, macadamia nut oil, grapeseed oil, walnut oil and sesame oil. All are delicious. I try...
  10. My adrenals used to be tired. I went the natural route. I know they healed because you cannot raise Armour if your adrenals are shot. You will get horrible symptoms. Some people with adrenal exhaustion cannot even take 15 mg of Armour without reacting (when they are clearly hypothyroid). I took 2000 mg Vit C a day plus the other supplements I mentioned...
  11. Before you go the steroid route, you might just try healing your adrenals. Reduce stress as much as possible Mediation Extra sleep and rest Vitamin C Panteothenic Acid B Vitamins Astragalus Things like this can be a big help.

  14. I've had a "nervous stomach" since I was a kid. Was never dx'd tho. I did have an appendectomy when I was 13.
  15. My migraines are gone gluten free....there is light at the end of the tunnel. You should get tested for Celiac. Find a doctor who will do a complete Celiac panel.
  16. MMMM....key lime pie. These look yummy: Open Original Shared Link You could crumble some Pamela's gluten-free almond cookies for a crust and top with this.
  17. Pele I am like you. I am on the diet, but I DO NOT follow it to the letter. I eat sweet potatoes and a tad of amaranth flour once a week. I do enjoy Stevia in a few things. I believe the diet has helped me, but it isnt necessary for everyone to be anal about it. I just simply do not believe in "all or nothing" with diets. Even gluten free. While...
  18. Mine passed after about 3 - 4 weeks. Drink lots of water, cleansing teas like red clover, ginger, etc. Exercise helps too even if you dont feel like it. Sauna. Anything to get that "gunk" out of you.......
  19. One of the women at my Celiac Support group was just talking about this a few weeks ago. She is the type that does not like to draw attention to herself at all. So she called ahead and got to speak with the chef. She explained her intolerance and her needs. He reassured her that she would have a great meal, so she made a reservation. The night they showed...

  21. Good News!!! High end restaurants are generally the SAFEST places to eat. They have real chefs who are willing to prepare delicious gluten-free food for you. I dont eat at expensive restaurants as much as you do, but the last one I went to a few months ago was great! I called ahead. Then when I got there and the hostess checked our reservations, she...
  22. Good job!! But I order my Pure Encapsulations through Amazon....quite a few companies sell it. You just cannot buy directly from their website. But give the ones you found a go!!
  23. Is that like being slightly pregnant???......LOL Welcome aboard!
  24. Barley and parsley sound similar phonetically. She is sooooo confused. I avoid their products anyway because of the oats. I use mostly Dove and Burt's Bees that I know are safe.
  25. Most of us can identify with the life you have had unfortunately. We know it all too well.
