ARCHIVED Upside-down Pizza Casserole
purple replied to purple's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
What kind of flour did you use? xanthan gum? Did you beat the topping with the mixer at least 2 minutes? I am making another recipe today similar and will let you know how it turned out. I think the topping is identical for both. I will check and see. It wont be thick like pizza. I cup of flour of a 9x13 will make a "skinny" crust. -

I hope you caught my typo. Recipe should say 1/4 lb. pepperoni not 1/2 lb. I found another recipe I am trying today called "Bacon Cheeseburger Upside Down Pizza". I will post it on a new thread if its good. Its very similar to the pepperoni recipe. -

ARCHIVED New Here....just Found Out Today...
purple replied to dreamindarlin's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I tried De Boles corn spaghetti from Walmart...its good too. Be careful when you buy premade spaghetti sauce though. Some may have cheese in case you can't have it and some may have wheat like the ones flavored with meat. Also not all chili or canned chili beans are wheat free even if other flavors of the same brand are. -

I thought it looked yummy too until I read it was supposed to be 4 calzones instead of one. Lots of dough to chew...at least it was edible!

An 8"x8" metal pan, greased with shortening and floured. He will love it. Just plain without seasoning and oil is great too!

I just tried this bread: WOW!!! Open Original Shared Link It tastes just like gluten white bread fresh out of the bread machine! Its soy/egg/dairy/rice/glutenfree Low in fat/sugar! EASY TOO! I used xanthan gum, didn't use the parchment paper. I let it rise about 60-70 minutes. Prepare the yeast in step 3, first. Cut it into 4 pieces, then slice...

It makes great... -

Check out this recipe for waffles: Open Original Shared Link Banana nut waffles, it makes alot but easy to wrap, freeze and pop into the toaster or use for sandwiches. I use about 1 1/2 cups almond milk. Finely chop the nuts. So good you don't need to have butter...just eat them plain or put peanut butter on them like my dh does who is not gluten-free... -

I am sure you could. My original recipe I followed had too much sugar also, this is the comparison: old wheat recipe (new gluten-free recipe) 3 cups sugar (1 3/4 cups sugar) 1 cup oil (1/2 cup oil) 3 1/2 cups flour (4 cups gluten-free flour) And (I added 3/4 cup unsweetened... -

ARCHIVED Grr! Periods Mess Everything Up!

My dd had those a few months back which is how we found out about gluten. The doc told her to take vit b complex with magnesium. She went from extreme pms with great loss of blood to not complaining at all. He said take one every day and a few days before her period starts to take 2. She did it randomly and still noticed a difference. Most celiacs are low... -
