  1. QuitTipofTheDay! Will Smoking Change That Situation? Sometimes former smokers will feel a strong urge to have a cigarette. Often the trigger will be a difficult emotional time. If that should ever happen to you, ask yourself, "Will smoking change the situation? What's happened in the past when I allowed myself to smoke just one? Especially when...
  2. So all of these items are no longer gluten free? That is a shame
  3. hehe I love Peanut Butter! Just had to say that. That is how I put on weight after going gluten-free, I was so addicted to pb. I never ate it before, but when I was sick I was eating a jar a week, at the least. Then it just went crazy from there. Now I only eat pb on the weekends lol.
  4. Morning, The only thing you can do is sit tight and wait this out, it will not last forever. Keep going to school, I wish I could go back that would be so nice. Which yes I am working on it. Try to keep a positive attitude about this, our economy will pick up again. All though your idea of living on a farm is fantastic, I am so up for that lol. I...
  5. How cool Judy! Yes send the pics would love to see them
  6. Hi Judy! That is so nice of your realtor to offer that to you =) Wow that is sad what she is saying about the camp grounds there, that area went crazy with new development and home sales. The average cost for a house in that area when real estate was up was nothing less than 300k and that is the least amount of money. So a lot of people (like everywhere...
  7. You would be surpised what info you get or might not get. My doctor told me not to eat wheat and that was all he said. I asked for some more infomation and he said he would mail me a packet. I got the packet about a week later which I already pulled most of that info off the internet. I agree with the other posts also, eat simple foods for right...
  8. lol they are right, has been raining non stop all day long. I really wanted it to just sprinkle so I could go on my walk at lunch, lol yeah right! So I havent had a cigarette since March and when I started to smoke again it was cigars. So I kicked the cigars and was craving them at first. I didnt think about a cigarette for months up until this last...
  9. No that is not a gluten free product.
  10. Are you willing to bake your own bread? Store bought pre made bread doesnt taste good compared to making your own. I bake 2 loafs at a time, cut it up and freeze. The only thing that is time consuming is waiting for the bread to rise, lol which is easy.
  11. That is interesting, I would contact the company and ask. Artichokes are flowers, very good to eat. I love those things, yummy.
  12. It was the same for me too Mushroom, was so easy at first. Then after I was off the patch I lost a bit too, which I am going though again lol, but this is the last time. Susan we are so glad to hear that you are doing so great! Wish your hubby would quit too, maybe once he notices how well you are doing he will go to you for support and advice. Are...
  13. thanks for the responses, I appreciate it. I wanted to keep this outside the smoking post so people would see it. I will try a daily vitamin, I used too but stopped. It is a daily patch and I do change the time, I am actually weening myself off step 3. 6 more to go and I am done. I know the last time this happened I was light headed for a long time,...
  14. Hi All, I know a lot of you look at coping with so I am going to post here. This has nothing to do with celiac at this point. I need to get your thought on if you think I am lacking vitamins. I quit smoking back in March and when I got to step 3 patch I started to get very very light headed. So I went to the urgent care, they told me to get a primary...
  15. How cool Judy! You are going to love it there, I know it. You will have so many options available to you for celiac. You have Henrys (which I sooo miss that place), Sprouts, and so many places to eat out there. Make sure once you are all settled in to call the chef at Pechanga, he will make you an amazing 3 course meal. I still have his number if you...
  16. I find this interesting too. I know my dad had celiac, I just wish I knew about this disease before he passed away. He was a big time alcoholic, so was his dad and mom. My half brothers and sister had problems with addiction also, some still do. Which none of them will get tested or even imagine going gluten free.
  17. CONGRATS JUDY! So does this mean you will be making way for California?! hehehe I am so happy for you.
  18. I looked at the back of my almonds and cashews and yes there was a warning, but not on my walnuts which I dont understand. lol I stopped buying cashews because my dh and I can never put the dang jar down. I am not sure if they are 100% safe, I should call Kirkland
  19. Judy, I agree with you, I would lose my mind also. Just think it will work out =) I wish you the best of luck and hope you get some rest soon. Susan, Good for you on 8 days smoke free =) Kind of motivates you when you have been smoke free for that long. hehe. Keep on going for it!
  20. Congrats on your quit!! I am so glad to hear that you have done this well. I have heard that the thought of smoking never goes away. I think what might be hard in the long run is making sure you remember why you quit so you dont go back. A few of us here have struggled. I am, just getting light headed all the time makes me want to smoke. I wont though...
  21. I agree with your post Gemini, my family is the same way. My mom stopped including me about a month after I was diagnosed. Told me I was like cooking around someone with an infectious disease. I couldnt belive it when she had said that. She doesnt ever push me to eat gluten, but doesnt really care about it either. I too refuse to be treated like that...
  22. OMG that is crazy, they are responsible for that. Call your insurance company and file a claim, this is wrong. They had no right to do that, if the tile was in question they should have hired a general contractor to look at it. I am sorry you are going through this, I know this has been no fun for you. I had a Dr. tell me once to not quit smoking, I had...
  23. I would warn him of the dangers, everyone has different reactions when it comes to allergies. I think kids should be warned and taught about drugs at a young age and as they get older explain more in detail.
  24. I liked reading this thread because I agree with what most people have stated. I know it was just a question about CC and it turned into a debate. When I was a teenager we were not taught why we shouldnt do drugs, we were just told to say no. I think I would have had second thoughts about things at that age if I knew WHY we should stay away from drugs...
  25. I have had a little trouble also but I dont gluten myself. I had to cut most carbs out to see a difference. I still eat veggies and fruit but I stay away from pasta and rice, etc. You might be having trouble because you are still consuming gluten and your body is not digesting right. You need to go gluten free and stick with it, it is a life style change...
