ARCHIVED Hot Cocoa At Disney World: Gluten Free?
msmini14 replied to Lynayah's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Almost every sit down place can make you a gluten free meal and they do take a lot of care when cooking for us. Any guest relations booth can help you, they will give you a list of the places that have gluten-free food but again the Rain Tree Cafe wasnt even on the list I just decided to stop by there. A phone number to reserve a table (you must do this... -
ARCHIVED How To Deal With Those Who Don't Understand
msmini14 replied to NYC-GFRN's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
lol Tarnalberry, that would have been something I would say. I think Mushroom gave good advice. It took awhile for my dh (back then he was my bf) to understand that it is a priority for me to eat gluten-free. Most people need to learn about the disease and what it does to us before they can see it from your point of veiw. If he still wishes to be... -
I have been doing great this past month, weening myself from step 2 patch to step 3 only because I get so light headed with the drastic change in nicotine. Susan we are glad to hear you are doing good =) Yup it is hard, just have to keep strong. Judy, I really hope you are doing ok.

Ohhhh Judy, where have you been? =) I hope you are doing good, havent heard from you in awhile. Let us know how you are doing!

ARCHIVED Where Do You Buy Your Almonds, Cashews, Etc?
msmini14 replied to taweavmo3's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Costco is the place to go, their cashews are so good! Planters sucks compared to Costco cashews and you can get a big bag of raw almonds or salted and roasted for a good price. -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Have Homemade Pasta Recipe Without....
msmini14 replied to River*'s topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
No it doesnt, seems to take on what ever flavor you put on it. I used it the first time about a month ago, I always wanted to try it and I am glad I did. I made this chicken and mushrooms with marina sauce and some cheese, was so good. -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Have Homemade Pasta Recipe Without....
msmini14 replied to River*'s topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Have you ever tried a Spaghetti Squash? Very yummy to use instead of noodles. Cut it in half, remove seeds, places face down on plate and microwave for about 14 minutes until soft. Then use a fork and it will string up, not sure how to explain it. All I know is next time I make pasta I am using this, so much beter for you and very good. -
When I was dating I was nervous about telling my date that I can not consume gluten and at first I was very shy about it. Then I got to the point that if he could not respect that or did not even want to learn about it, he was not worth my time at all. I got to the point in my life that the person either accepts me as is or doesnt. And if they didnt well...

msmini14 replied to waitingdorothea's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

ARCHIVED San Francisco Oven - Positive Experience
msmini14 replied to jabberwife's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
There is Joes Crab Shack in SF too and they are very good about cooking gluten-free. Glad you had a good experience there =) -
I love the Outback! I always ask for the manager anywhere I go and eat. I explain that I have Celiac and that I must eat gluten free and to please take pre-cautions while preparing my food. They always understand and will work with you. I went to FL over this last weekend and I really did get sick of explaining myself at least three times a day lol but...

I also have multiple tattoos, I havent ever had a reaction from them but everyone is different. I agree with Raven, make sure you think it all through and place it where it can be easily covered. The pain never really bothered me, only the annoying sound getting it lol. Enjoy your ink =)

I know this post is old but I had to say the same thing. Disney World is amazing when it comes to eating gluten free, just make sure you make reservations for dinner or you will not eat. For the first time I was able to eat out and order a chicken sandwich and yup I had another sandwich lol. I was only there for 1 day so I wasnt able to eat at a lot...

ARCHIVED Must-try Restaurants In Eastern Los Angeles Area?
msmini14 replied to brigala's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
In-N-Out is the best! You must go there. The sauce they use is safe unless you can not consume eggs. Most of those chains are very familiar with our diet and they will work with you. The one I go to always starts a burner in the back for me, takes a bit longer but at least they try their best to avoid cc. Plus they dont share any friers because all they... -
I remember about a month after I went gluten free I went to a b-day party and I ate so much wheat it wasnt funny. I ate pasta, garlic bread, cupcakes all sorts of stuff I went on this crazy binge and it was soooo good. BUT that was the last time I ever ingested wheat on purpose, I learned my lesson that day. I was sick for over a month, I didnt think I...

ARCHIVED Anyone Else Work In Residential Treatment?
msmini14 replied to JillianLindsay's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
What do they typically serve? Do they have salads? Do they prepare any meat and if so do they season or marinate it? Remember you can have all fruits and veggies. You could bring something to eat every other day. Bring snacks with you, lets say they have bananas or apples bring some peanut butter to go with it. -
ARCHIVED Ice Cream Sandwiches...?
msmini14 replied to G-freegal12's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
lol I told my husband about this last night and he just started laughing. Half the time I just think something up and make some crazy dish or desert and he get a kick out of it. I told him about the chocolate cookies and marshmellow...... oh for some reason I have been wanting a smore soooo bad! Sounds so good. Peanut butter, vanilla ice cream and brownies... -
ARCHIVED What Do You Do When Your Starving?
msmini14 replied to UnhappyCoeliac's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Once you accept the fact that you have celiac I think you will be more comfortable in a public setting. I was the same way at first, I was very very shy I didnt want to feel like I was causing a scene or felt like people were staring at me. My first real event was going to the Marine Corps Ball with my dh and I had to bring a cooler with my dinner in... -
Hi All! Just wanted to stop in and say I am doing good. Once I put the patch on 8/9 I havent smoked since. This is my final quit, I am a non smoker for life! Hope you all are doing good.
-
Hi Judy! I am good, just sitting here at work chewing on a straw lol. Still going strong, just want this to be over already. I know I wanted to smoke really bad this morning but that is because I waited to long to put my patch on. I just have to tell myself smoking will not make anything better. Hope you are doing good too Judy!

Hi all! Just thought I would drop a quick post, sitting here at work bored lol. Almost lunch time which is good. Hope everyone is doing good.

msmini14 replied to jasonD2's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I love Rice Works, the Salsa Fresca is by far the best! My dh and I eat mission chips, havent had a problem and pretty good with some hummus. -
Thanks for the post! lol kind of funny, I dont care for needles either! lol. Thank you for the encouragement, we all need it, for ex smokers, current smokers, etc. It is emotional for me too, like I said before there would be times when I would just start to cry for no reason at all. Please share with us some of the activities you gave yourself when...
