  1. hamster- im not a doc, so i am adding a link that explains Excitotoxicity... i have read so much in the past 2 weeks that explains that Gluten (and possibly Wheat Germ Agglutin- which i'll have to look up, not sure)-> can be Excitotoxic. that it can fire up those neurons so much in the brain that they eventually die out. Open Original Shared Link ...
  2. OMG i TOTALLY relate to both of u!!!!! i COMPLETELY agree that it's almost as hard as quitting ciggs. i actually quit ciggs in january, now back on it, and trying to quit again.. i find Gluten, Cheese, and Coffee JUST RIGHT BELOW Nicotine addiction i TOO have some lactose intolerance- but IM STILL eating cheese everyday!!! i sometimes feel like...
  3. i dont fully have an answer for you- but i can tell u- that i had Salmonella poisoning in Japan in the 90s. i had D for 10 days. i recovered and was ok. i dont know about more than that. ya- i would try to drink Gatorade, or i also like FUSE Slenderize... just make sure everything is gluten free. i would also cook a big pot of basmati rice (YUM).. and add...
  4. ya, i wouldnt take that stuff- and other poster is right- going gluten free (and dairy free at least for now) should greatly improve things. plus, it takes a little time to heal- it could only take a few weeks, or it could take several months- everyone is different. all that being said... always go back to your doctor too- if you're having other issues...
  5. interestingly (and strange maybe)- BOTH my General Practitioner AND my GI AND some of their nurses- were totally sympathetic to and in complete acknowledgement of NONCeliac Gluten Intolerance. i was surprised- cause they're both still traditional docs who didnt know as much about Celiac as most of us do- and also didnt want to diagnose me without the Biopsies...
  6. Because Allergies & Intolerances & Autoimmune Diseases are all completely different things. you could have one & not the other or both there's a moderator on here who says those allergy tests are not conclusive... my theory and own allergic experiences: is that they body may not always be releasing the same amount of histamines ???? i read...
  7. back in the 90s, i had excema SO bad on my foot for @5 years- but i didnt know it was excema, i thought it was athlete's foot, and i wore socks 24/7... it was embarrasing, & excruciating, i would scratch till it bled.. totally disappeared when i went on Atkins & Bloodtype (95% wheat free.... i say this & still cheated on gluten from time to time...
  8. yes! ive had that sunbutter- it's DELISH... i also love the almond butter brand: "Barney Butter"... honestly- i have become so accustomed to these, that i dont like peanut butter anymore! OR the smell of it ! same with m&ms... i dont even like the taste of the peanut ones
  9. your test result said: Endomysial Antibody S ??? its confusing to me- TTG is Tissue Transglutamase (usually this is the most common test the doctors order- sometimes the ONLY test-> when there is SO MANY tests that should be ordered)... nevertheless- if your result of 251 was actually TTG- that is pretty dang high enough to be a sure thing PS-...
  10. ok, so first of all im not a psychaitrist or md... but i DO KNOW that gluten can have disasterous effects on your brain! whether or not gluten was the only or 1st trigger in your emotional instability is not something i have any answer or knowledge. there are many on here who will tell you 1st hand of how gluten affected their brains... gluten has been...
  11. QUITE possible she's got celiac, but remember too- that testing will be innacurate if she's gluten free (then you gotta weigh if it's even worth it to eat the poison to get the test.... i, personally needed the diagnosis to go 100%) ya, it's interesting & confusing- all of these autoimmune diseases- and also autism, schizophrenia , etc.... they often...
  12. im not sure if this is necessarily a question i can answer- because i am not one of those Celiacs who has to run to the bathroom with Nausea or "D" when crosscontaminated... i get more gas & constipation... the "D" comes with larger amounts or cumulative effects... so, i can tell you that i can eat those blue diamond cracker things just fine... but it...
  13. i had a tonsilectomy around age 3 or 4 omg, i hope ravenwood's advice helps- if your daughter could have her own kitchenette- that could be her saving grace! poor thing. it sounds like your problems dont lie in more testing & doctors visits- but rather making sure your daughter is 100% gluten-free & not being cross contaminated!! also she should...
  14. when u say 251- is that his TTG Iga ?? that's a pretty damning number- ttg can also be related to other illnesses- but his symptoms & those you've mentioned for your daughter are classic celiac symptoms. im not your doc, but i would say your children are at least gluten intolerant and possibly lactose intolerant too... (also- false negatives on the...
  15. be careful too, if you ever go for a massage! u may already know that- but massage will drop your blood sugar... so eat protein & fat before, and bring a snack & water for after. i sometimes have LBP & LBS, but dont have regular Hypoglycemia... but OMG, one day, i remember, i didnt eat too much all day- and i mostly had gluten-free carbs.....
  16. YES. peanuts and peanut butter WRECK my intestines- they feel like rocks from my stomach on down- thru their entire journey (sorry tmi). some people have problems digesting peanuts, cause they have problems digesting Legumes. Peanuts are Legumes and not nuts. i could eat almost a whole bag of almond m&ms, and not have any problems (other than a sore...
  17. did u say that your doc did an endoscopy to test for Celiac Sprue... but you didnt have any blood tests????? if i were you- i would go get a complete blood panel done for Celiac before you get back on gluten free. after all that- you may just want to try gluten free anyways- false negatives are common for those with Celiac. and ALSO- i would have your...
  18. ya, as long as apples dont bother u... or celery with almond butter... or apples & cheese... keep combining the fats & proteins with your snacks
  19. the kidney beans would have me couch ridden on a heating pad with pressure on my stomach and the potatoes & corn flour would probably be messing me up too!! chilli is really hard to digest for someone healing their gut, or having additional intolerances ( i cant handle excess fructose or grains or dairy or beans/legumes ) i know it sounds...
  20. what were the numbers on your blood tests??? IF you dont need the "official" diagnosis/gold standard biopsy to be 100% motivated & 100% on the gluten free diet- then skip it. the challenge is a real pain in the A, and i only did a 2 week challenge- thank God i didnt do the endo- because the 2 week challenge my GI put me on may not have been enough...
  21. ahhh- maybe this is it: (hope this link works)- Open Original Shared Link oy- it didnt work.. and i cant find the FAQ page- one of the questions is: are the beverages gluten free- and the answer is that the beverage is made with a barley enzyme, and that after the product is made, the enzyme is discarded. the finished product may have a residual of...
  22. just double checked your link... and NOW IM CONFUSED did they just change their product??? cause i swear to you on my life that for the last year- everyone online has been talking about how it has barley in it!!! oy, im so confused anybody else wanna chime in???
  23. Missy's mom: what is "BG" ??? & - i cant do the Lara Bars because of the fructose- they kill me Original poster- ya, really- what is your dietician thinking?? was she understanding that your issue was Hypoglycemia??? i would prescribe someone who's nauseaus to eat those plain foods... but those complex carbs are not gonna help you with blood sugar...
  24. carrying Lactaid in your purse is a great idea... cause even tho ive got my hemp milk, i totally indulge in ice cream or frozen coffee drinks (even tho i shouldnt).. im a little confused tho- years ago, i was taking the Lactaid with my dairy... but they only worked like 1/2 the time but then again, i was still eating gluten back then, and i didnt know...
  25. ALL EXCELLENT points above AND TRUE!!! one does NOT outgrow Celiac, period. & YES, even if it is not affecting his gut, it can be destroying another part of his body, like his brain or heart, etc, etc and maybe it's possible that he was misdiagnosed 50 years ago...
