  1. ya, it is real tuff to figure out sometimes... i feel LOADS better after going gluten free... and EVEN MORE better after i eliminated HIGH FRUCTOSE foods. but yet- there are times or days- where i am having issues down there- bloating/gassy/little pain/feels like a UTI, etc... BUT im still consuming dairy, & caffeine. sometimes i think- OY- do i have...
  2. i like both suggestions above... i think you should send your birth mom the information, so she can get tested if she wants. you'll feel relieved that you passed on the information.
  3. you should limit your gluten free treats... (ie: cookies, cereals, muffins, cakes, breads).. and try to mostly stick to naturally gluten free foods at least for a little while you should avoid or limit dairy for a little while it might not hurt you at all to eat the above- but you'll probably feel better faster if you limit/avoid them
  4. ya, the reference ranges help us- since most labs have slightly different ranges. your Igg numbers are higher than your Iga numbers- so im wondering if you're low on Iga- but it doesnt look like they tested your Total Iga Serum
  5. your husband could still be gluten intolerant without having significant symptoms.. i read a study months ago (i think out of columbia university) that only 1 in 6 Celiacs have any gut symptoms. Also.. while Gluten absolutely kills me... and Dairy affects me- but not too bad... back in 1998, before i experimented with No Carb diets & i was eating more...
  6. hi bobby jo glad u found this forum- everyone here is so supportive & i know it has been a lifeline for me when i felt completely alone in my struggle... i wish i had found it YEARS ago. your kids sound like really great kids!!! how lucky u are that they're so excited about their new lifestyle! i didnt know there was a kid's book about Celiac...
  7. you girls still there?? i just got my copy of the results in the mail... im confused as to why my TSH is 11.39 when my T3 & T4 are very within the normal range ??? shouldnt my T3 or T4 be very LOW??? confused my T4 dropped from 4 years ago, but very very very little... still normal ?
  8. "The Grain of Pain".... aint that the truth
  9. 1st off- one of the recent articles discussing gluten in breast milk: Open Original Shared Link 2nd- great suggestion above- sometimes when i make a bolognese sauce- i actually pour it over Basmati rice (instead of rice pasta)- it is DELISH 3rd- with your baby being gluten intolerant- have you or your husband entertained the possibility that either...
  10. ANYONE that has issues with Gluten (rather Gluten Intolerant or Celiac or not sure) & continues to eat Gluten will all suffer from some kind of Inflammation. im not sure how to answer all your questions- but Gluten Intolerance can definitely be dire! Gluten has been linked to many many many additional diseases & conditions besides Celiac
  11. chicken leg BREADED with crushed corn chex, potatos and spinach??????!!! can i come over???
  12. "cereal products".... EW, that would scare me YES- MINUTE amounts can make u extremely ill- especially after going gluten free... not exactly sure the science behind it- but we all have experienced it..
  13. i would agree your gall bladder could be having issues.. maybe you should get that checked with your doctor. also- i sometimes use a product called Gold Coin Grass.. i can only find it at: www.sensiblehealth.com in Canada- it's a Chinese tincture that helps to soften & dissolve gall stones, plus it helps the stomach to create digestive juices. OR...
  14. was reading your signature- and wanted to know what your symptoms for adrenal fatigue were? and what kind of treatment you got... i have Celiac, & just got dx w/ Hypothyroid (havent had hashi test yet), just started Synthroid... but i am worried i may also have adrenal issues- only because my thyroid i think has been hypo since 2006 & im always hot...
  15. im so glad you girls mentioned "Celiac's" & "Celiacs"... so i didnt have to initiate ... i didnt want to be rude, but it does annoy me
  16. sometimes your gastro symptoms can almost be 90% better within a week or maybe 3 weeks... but i think it takes longer for your period symptoms to reduce- i think because the cycle is pretty much a whole month- and sometimes it takes a month or 2 to change how the cycle is gonna be..?? make sense?? like if i went gluten free one week.. but my period was coming...
  17. thankyou skylark
  18. can u eat anything more substancial than soup & an apple?? like meat & vegtables... nuts.. vegtables & some EVOO... eggs?? turkey & avacado... i find that a HEALTHY low carb diet balances my sugar. if i only eat fruit or some gluten free cereal- i could have a sugar drop later...
  19. i dont know if there's any rhyme or reason to it... i had a few symptoms that were fairly consistent.... (painful gas/"C"/bloating/itchy/irritable/super sleepy or "high"/acid reflux)... but i also had random crazy symptoms like Tachycardia with OVERHEATING & NAUSEA... or CRAZY anxiety.. and of course the BMS were stereotypical but more "C" than "D...
  20. well, i feel better OFF dairy... but i still eat it i have an addiction. before i went on atkins 12 years ago- i used to have daily "D" (which i assume is the Lactose Intolerance, Because gluten usually gives me "C"). anyways... so far i feel no reactions to the Synthroid. but i am nervous about the iodine a little, cause i have DH.. its not bad.. but...
  21. i am NOT a doctor or a scientist- but i have a theory ( and funny enough, the last time i saw my GI- he actually sounded like he had a similar one)... I THINK (and just humor me as having an active imagination).. i think that those with DQ2 & DQ8s may only need 1 or 2 simple triggers to start down the path of Celiac... and then all the other DQ genes...
  22. annoying isnt it... we just had a work dinner at Abuelo's ... granted they were very NICE to me and accomadating- told me i couldnt have the fajita steak.... i ask why?... because they sautee it in SOY SAUCE!!!! WHY flavor a mexican styled steak with SOY SAUCE???????? GEEZ
  23. funny that ravenwood just mentioned how one could be triggered by pregnancy... then be mistaken that there's a problem & just think that it's "baby blues"... cause i just had this conversation today at work... i just got diagnosed with Hypothyroid (probably Hashimotos).. and i just made excuses for how i felt because i was stressed or didnt get enough...

    ARCHIVED A Question

oh Rowena- it is DEFINITELY possible for Gluten to be the culprit for all your issues... still smart to check the vitamin levels- as Gluten Intolerance can really leave you with a few deficiencies! yes- it requires blood drawn ( i know i cant stand it either.. in fact, i chickened out of my vit D test on monday- because it has to be refridgerated.....

good idea to get your vitamin levels checked- & maybe get a thyroid test too- that can also affect you getting pregnant & the health of your baby
