ARCHIVED Depressed And Sleepy
cassP replied to revenant's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
YES always get your results yourself... within range may still not be good enough!!! my sis in law had B12 WITHIN range but in the 200s... she ended up in the emergency room with peripheal neuropathy and panic attacks.. so, good to see the numbers yourself. and check your thyroid & adrenals too. -
what are you eating?? there's so much room for variation while still being gluten free.. when i first went gluten free- i probably put on 5 pounds because i must have eaten every single gluten free dessert that i could find. hard to tell- everyone is different- i can stay slender on a high protein, low or no carb diet... but others are best on a vegetarian...

cassP replied to michayla's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
its very hard to find what works, AND what tastes good. i used Bob's brownie mix once- HATED it- was so gummy i also hated Pamela's brownie mix and i dont know why- because her Vanilla cake mix is the best gluten-free cake mix ive ever ever ever tried- it totally works! i didnt care for betty crocker's choco cake mix. im still trying so hard... -
with a ttg of over 100... and now at 31, i would say that's a strong positive for Celiac. but i dont understand what u mean when u say that ttg was 31, and igg & iga were 6 & 10.... because usually you're tested for TTG Iga &/or TTG Igg... and Antigliadin Iga & Igg... wo what is your igg & iga for ??? antigliadin?? it's not for your...

ARCHIVED It's Easier To Just Not Eat
cassP replied to realmaverick's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
i totally love hemp milk- you're really going to have to go out on a limb and try things you've never tried- because you're gonna have to eat- and you have to get nutrients and feel better & satisfied. look- i can be very picky too- i have YET to find a nondairy ice cream i like- and the coconut ice cream just aint cutting it for me- a dairy substitute... -
ARCHIVED Brain Fog
cassP replied to kyga2's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
no, that's not normal for your brain at 35! my brain is better off gluten- but i am still having issues- most likely to the recent discovery that i have been Hypothyroid for at least 4 years. (you should have your thyroid checked- as gluten can cause thyroid issues). also- look at vitamin deficiencies, etc. & last- i just read recently an article... -
hhhmmmmm- now im wondering- if -- maybe as the body starts to get busy healing those villi- maybe there's a lot more circulation and movement down there- and maybe that's what some are feeling- an increase in activity down there?? (im just thinking outloud)
-
EWWWW that is nasty.. this is all like a horror movie for us.. gross PS- also someone posted on here the other day- that some farms rotate the crops on the same field- and usually do this with Wheat, Soy, and Corn... ewww

ARCHIVED Absence Of Villi In Duodenal
cassP replied to Loey's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
i had an ulcer around April this year- i did GSE 3 doses a day for 6 weeks and Zantac & Pepto as needed... and it worked. (GSE is antibacterial, antifungal, antiinflammatory, etc). oh, i also finished off my Ionized silver in that first 2 week period. i always go full on with GSE & Ionized Silver in the beginning to see if it works- because i DESPISE... -
ARCHIVED I'm Disappointed From.....
cassP replied to Simona19's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
with your symptoms, your positive son, your endoscopy report, and your DQ2 gene- if i were u, i would just assume i was a Celiac with false negative bloodwork. im sorry you had to pay so much for the genetic testing -
ARCHIVED Negative Blood Test
cassP replied to Laennie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
well, those are pretty negative numbers. but ive read false negatives occur at around 20% also- they didnt run any antigliadin antibodies.. not the old regular one or the newer Anti-Deamidated antigliadin antibodies. ?? i know you probably want validation.. but sometimes the biggest proof is in your response to the diet. if you dont mind spending... -
ARCHIVED First Trip With New Girlfriend- Have Some Concerns
cassP replied to jasonD2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
life is so difficult these days (without even getting in to the celiac)- that counseling could help everyone... if i had the time & the money- i would be doing it every week -
ARCHIVED What Test Do I Ask My Doc To Run
cassP replied to cahill's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
sounds like you're on the right track ... i just got dx with Hypothyroid too.. just started on synthroid.. at my follow up- i am going to ask for a Hashimoto's antibody test (as should u)... it shows wheter or not your Hypothyroid is an autoimmune disease... which may or may not affect your treatment. ?? im also going to ask my doc to consider if... -
ARCHIVED Non Gluten Intolerant Kids Won't Eat Bread?
cassP replied to norahsmommy's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
dont be surprised either if they simply have an innate intelligence- they may be developing intolerances to gluten and lactose- and may be completely aware that it doesnt feel good to consume it. imho- i dont know why everyone thinks they should be drinking milk. imho, most people dont do well with dairy. we didnt grow up with it in our house- and when... -
it could still be the cheesecake... i dont always do well with dairy.. im not as lactose intolerant as i was in the past when i was eating gluten... sometimes i handle it just fine- but cheesecake is really heavy, a lot of fat, and cheese and does lactaid always help for you?? years ago when i was more lactose intolerant- the lactaid only worked 1/2 the...

ARCHIVED Need Some Info On Existing Symptoms After Going Gluten Free
cassP replied to krishna's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
i dont know exactly what kind of tests you had- but keep in mind that Allergies are different from Intolerances. you may be allergic to milk & corn- but your intestines may be intolerant and unable to digest them. i have had palpitations off & on over the last decade- they went away when i went gluten free. but ive had a few in the past week. the... -
ARCHIVED I'm Disappointed From.....
cassP replied to Simona19's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
ya- did u say u were gluten free before all 3 of your blood tests???? that definitely makes false negatives possible! if i were you , i would listen to my body- if you have felt better while gluten free- then you should stay gluten free- if you've already got enough symptoms, and you DO have a DQ2... why push your body- why test the triggers? gluten... -
ARCHIVED Absence Of Villi In Duodenal
cassP replied to Loey's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
no antibiotics for the ulcer? most ulcers are caused by H.Pylori bacteria... hope they have ruled that out or are going to actually treat it, so it doesnt come back months from now. happy you have answers now!!! time to get healing -
ARCHIVED Gluten Challenge :(
cassP replied to Courtney101's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
im SURE sourdough has plenty of gluten. i think it's safe to say that the squishier the bread is, the more gluten it will have. i think a more hearty whole grain wheat or ezekiel would have a little less gluten and maybe more Wheat Germ Agglutin you should continue to eat 4 slices of bread a day to get a more accurate test... or doughnuts.. or pizza...
