  1. yes! i ALWAYS ask for a paper copy of my results now... i actually learned what mine really meant- and then highlighted and brought it back to my Gi... he did not even notice aspects of my results.. and he didnt know that my PCP had ran a specific test that he didnt- they're just too busy or whatever and they dont really give it the attention you need. always...
  2. there are lots of reasons why she may not have felt completely better going gluten free. Dairy usually is the main culprit when people still have the "D". for me- excess Fructose puts me in more pain than Gluten... and if i overdo the salad greens- i can get some "D". other things that give me intestinal gurgles & D- any of those fake fats & corn...
  3. i dont know STONES... and is a size 8 in the UK the same as in the US?? are you sickly thin?? it might be possible that you are dropping weight now because you're off the gluten..??? the weight comes off of me when i go gluten free- and if i am doing LOW to NO carb- it comes off even faster.. idk, as long as you're still healthy & have enough fat...
  4. if you're comfortable posting your blood results here- we would love to dissect them
  5. ya, everything she said above.... i would also add- if your daughter actually had 2 Celiac Genes or 2 of the other DQ genes which all carry the possibility of celiac or gluten intolerance- then actually both you & her father would be carrying genes and should be tested. plus- if u do the gene test thru your doctor- they only test for DQ2 & DQ...
  6. ive never understood how marijuana helps many with nausea (or pain, for that matter)... now, i havent smoked pot since i dont know- 2003... but it always made me nauseaus.. and one time i smoked while on my 2nd day of my cycle- and it didnt do a thing for my cramps AT ALL. ciggarettes make me nauseaus too. but if it does help some, then that's good.. i...
  7. you're so disciplined!i just cant break my cheese addiction... not on top of the gluten too... at least not yet. i am a very addictive person.. always dying for more seratonin... and i must conquer the ciggs next (for a 2nd time)... then maybe i can think about the cheese.. i also have to get off all the frozen coffee drinks
  8. ive never tried the thin bars, but i do react to all those fake sugars and fats like malitol, etc.. i also cant eat Luna bars, because the dates do the same thing to me (fructose malabsorption) the only thing that i can do is the NuGo bars from whole foods (***the 2 Gluten free ones... double check u dont pick up a gluten one)
  9. my sister made one of Martha Stewart's Pumpkin cupcake recipes (the one with the cooked brown butter icing)... dont know which gluten-free flours she used, or if she added flaxmeal or xantham... but they were DELISH.. and the brown butter icing tasted like DOUGHNUT GLAZE... so yum
  10. you're NOT crazy... and i understand that feeling and wanting to be validated. if you feel comfortable posting your blood results up here- we could make more sense out of them maybe.. if u look at my results below in my signature- you can see how they look "negative"... but im a positive. the biggest thing to know is that you're response to the diet is...

ARCHIVED Still No Results From Biopsy

i wouldnt be too concerned.. it's ONLY just over 2 weeks.. but keep on them to make sure you find out soon for sure. it would be great if they had a positive on the DH. (well, not great in that you would have to change your diet & life- but great in that you would not need further testing or gluten challenges)
  12. unless you find the one or 2 brands that make it gluten free ( i think Pacific makes some gluten-free)... most stocks.. beef, chicken... will definitely have GLUTEN in them gROSS
  13. Amy's ( i think thats the brand) makes a gluten-free Rice mac & cheese- a smaller box with the fluorescent powdered cheese, and a bigger box with the squeeze cheese... works for me
  14. dont be afraid- it should be a breeze. my colonoscopy was EASY (the prep & gas pain after sucked- but you dont get those with the Endo) anyways- if you're not eating enough gluten tho- the endo could be a complete waste of your time and money- also the doctor should take 6 biopsies from different areas of the S.I... if he doesnt- that would also be...

    ARCHIVED Sick Of Being Ignored

YES- D.O.'s are great! they seem more caring- and appreciate that the body is so integrated. so, that's great that you were negative for Lupus & RA!!! really great... but you're right- there are A Lot more Autoimmune Diseases... not sure why these docs are so eager to give up and be lazy??? what about your Thyroid??? are your tests okay? Hashimoto...

    ARCHIVED Itching

sorry- but that line is bs and- i cant diagnose the rashes you're having... or tell u whether it's gluten intolerance, celiac, or wheat allergy, or all of the above- but i DO know that gluten & wheat make me itch. thruout my life- i have had EXCEMA, Psoraisis, Dandruff, and another horrific itching issue that i will leave unsaid.. they all disappeared...
  17. yes- most of us have become more sensitive to it after going gluten free. your immune system is getting healthier & more vigilant. you cant cheat! this is not a diet- it's a genetic disease that you can CURE on your own simply by not eating it... no chemo... no steroids... just willpower- dont worry, it gets easier, promise
  18. i'm very interested to see if anyone knows of any link too... i dont think my mom was ever diagnosed- but she was vomiting the entire pregnancy with me- she left the hospital in a size 2 baby doll dress (this was 1972).. she took meds with my 2 brothers... then with my sister she was sick till about month 8. she was dehydrated & on B12 injections with...
  19. i think its completely normal that you would be more succeptible to colds & other illnesses after being glutened, because your immune system is vulnerable when u ingest gluten
  20. omg YES- all of those conditions you listed could most definitely be associated with Celiac or Gluten Intolerance- FOR SURE!!! i am not diagnosing you- but i hope this is what you have- cause that would be great- not too hard to fix it is SO enraging how these doctors can never connect the dots... why cant the doctors AT LEAST test for Celiac when you...
  21. PS- just a reminder- that whatever diet you like to do- whether it's a vegetarian, paleo, mediterranean... etc.. that you conform it to your 100% Gluten Free guidelines
  22. those items are on your results: TTG (tissue transglutamase) Iga & Igg Antigliadin Iga & Igg (they're antibodies your body is making) Total Iga Serum is a blood test you could get- if your below range- then that would explain why your Igg numbers are higher and possibly more accurate. be sure when you get this 2nd endoscopy...
  23. jen- oh boy do i know about heartache over it, i wish us both MUCH HAPPIER TIMES AHEAD!!! anyways, in brief- i totally can relate to u- in that i spent most of my life - some depression/anxiety... always working hard on my weight (i was a dancer & did EVERY diet on earth)... it wasnt untill 1998 that i actually found a diet that worked-> Atkins...
  24. ok, so yes- dont be so hard on yourself- its a learning process.... ?- if your son is gluten-free- maybe you & your husband should get a test... the PREDISPOSITION is genetic.. and reportedly only 1 in 6 Celiacs have gut symptoms... many are asymptomatic. it's possible for either you &/or your husband to have a gluten intolerance as well. some...
  25. yes your ttg ranges are like my lab. i had similar ttg numbers- only a 7 on my ttg iga, and then a 6 (did it twice). my antigliadin was negative (but i had the old test. you had the newer more accurate test). you ttg igg is positive. (mine was weak positive). both your antigliadin & ttg igg ARE POSITIVE. your antigliadin & ttg IGA are weak...
