I would never cheat on purpose. Why cause yourself pain? If you're still having that craving about gluten free pizza I've got the recipe for you! Have you heard of Tom Sawyer's Flour....it's amazing and they have a gluten-free pizza crust recipe on their website. It completely satisfied my craving and I fooled my non gluten-free friends! The thing I always...

I used to love pasta salad but when I first became gluten free I made pasta salad using Tinkyada pasta and found that after 2 days in the refrigerator that pasta was extremely hard as if I had barely cooked it. I tried added more dressing to it but that didn't work so well. I hadn't made pasta salad in 2 years but for the fourth of July I thought I'd try...

ARCHIVED Fab Blog From A gluten-free Crockpot Goddess
SacGFGirl replied to Ridgewalker's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
WOW! I got a Crockpot for Christmas and love it but I typically only use it in the fall and winter because I associate it with heavy, warm, winter meals, but not any longer. I can't wait to try several of these recipes! -
Has anyone every dinned at a Fins Market & Grill? There are 5 different locations in the greater Sacramento area, and while I was downtown the other day I stumbled upon them. I pretty much just make a list of places that sound delicious when I'm out and about and then contact them later in hopes of expanding the places I can eat. When I called I was...

I called Sonic this afternoon and they don't have a printed menu on the Internet. The company representative told me the following items are gluten-free: Bacon Breakfast sausage patty Hamburger, no bun Hotdog, no bun Sliced American cheese Shredded cheddar cheese Pepperjack cheese Ketchup Mustard Marinara sauce Salad dressings, all varieties...

ARCHIVED Universal Studios Hollywood Versus Disneyland
SacGFGirl posted a topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
So I finally got to go to Disneyland and Universal Studios in Southern California and I was amazed at how much of a different experience I had at the two different parks. I had contacted the parks before my visit, and was reassured that all my needs could easily be met. Disneyland impressed me with a 10 page menu of everything gluten free in the park and... -
ARCHIVED Universal (cali) & Knotts Berry Farm
SacGFGirl replied to debbie-doodles's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
Did you end up going to Universal? Did you have any luck because I sure did not. -
I hope you had better luck than I did at Universal Studios Hollywood in California. They were completely rude and unhelpful. I went the entire day with only eating a snack bar and then left the bar and spent my money somewhere I knew would be willing and able to accommodate me.

ARCHIVED Marie Callender's Restaurant
SacGFGirl replied to RebeccaF's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I understand. I was in a similar position when I was on vacation last month, and I just brought a salad in Tupperware and just broke it out when the other food comes out. The server asked what I was doing and I told them since I can contacted them previously ans they were unwilling/unable to accommodate my needs I brought in my own food. They couldn't really... -
ARCHIVED Anyone From Northern California?
SacGFGirl replied to horsegirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Hi there. I know you posted a long time ago now, but I just became a member about a month ago and I'm in Sacramento! I know several places that are very accommodating and I'd be happy to share if you respond. What area of Sacramento are you in and have you ever gone to the CSA meetings here in Sac? -
ARCHIVED Marie Callender's Restaurant
SacGFGirl replied to RebeccaF's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I had contacted them a while back and they were not very helpful. The response I got was pretty much " eat at your own risk", so unless your location is more accommodating , I'd stay away. -
I just got a sonic burger near where I live and while I love in and out I would like to try a new place. The company website doesn't even list a phone number to their corporate office. Does anyone know about the gluten free options at Sonic Burger? Are their milkshakes safe? What about their burgers without the buns? And do they use a dedicated fryer...

I used to love red lobster and those cheddar biscuits were so yummy, but their corporate office has been completely rude and unhelpful the two times I called and inquired. I've learned how to make great tasting seafood, especially shrimp, including deep fried coconut shrimp just like you would get at red lobster for way cheaper. Who needs them. I've taken...

ARCHIVED gluten-free Wedding Cakes In Northern Ca
SacGFGirl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
My best friend is getting married in September and she and I both are gluten free. She has purchased a regular cake for the guests, but we are looking into getting a small gluten free cake just for the two of us. While I can whip up something pretty good it's a special day, and as maid of honor/wedding planner I already have enough to do and would really... -

ARCHIVED Dining Out Options Near The Arden Fair Mall
SacGFGirl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Does any one now of any gluten free dining options at or near the Arden Fair Mall in Sacramento? I've heard mixed opinions on Pluto's and I've also heard that the California Cafe might be able to accommodate. Does anyone have any positive experiences at either place? -

ARCHIVED Great Tortilla Wraps
SacGFGirl replied to Ursa Major's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I absolutely love these tortillas. I prefer the light teff, not the dark. They roll up perfectly for lunch wraps, the only downside is that they do not currently carry them in any of my local stores. So if anyone's in Sacramento pester your favorite health food store managers so they start carrying them. -
ARCHIVED Teriyaki & Bbq Sauces
SacGFGirl replied to FoxersArtist's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
In our household we've replaced ketchup and BBQ sauce with Oli's Sweet 'n Spicy Sauce. It's great on everything. -
Oli's Products will be tasting and selling their gluten free products at a car and craft fair at Herald Community Park located at 12409 Herald Rd., Herald, CA 95638. The website is in development stages but you're welcome to check it out...

ARCHIVED Flour
SacGFGirl replied to crittermom's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I found Tom Sawyer's flour at the CSA conference in Tuscon last fall and this stuff is truly amazing. I've been gluten free for 4 years and am an ambitious cook. Until I found this flour I had not truly made an "excellent" pizza crust. My mom who knew very little about gluten free cooking bought a bag of this flour and made some excellent dishes while I...
