  1. For only $10 you better go! And IKEA is always a blast! Just make sure your car is cleaned out in case you make a larger purchase than you thought you would.
  2. You should try marshmallows. Once they're made you can cover them in melted chocolate if you want. I'm guessing the "C" in CFF is for casein but I have a recipe on my blog for gluten-free corn free marshmallows. You should check it out and let me know if you have success.
  3. I haven't had a chance to try Z Pizza out yet, but the location in Roseville, CA offers gluten-free pizza too. Have you tried Amici's? They're in the bay area as well, and have fabulous gluten-free pizza. Gourmet taste. I try to keep up to date info about restaurants in Sacramento and the Bay area on my blog if you're looking for other places to try out...
  4. Might I also suggest cupcakes. You could get regular cupcakes for all your guests (should be cheaper than doing all gluten free) and then a few gluten free ones for you for that day and the next. That's what I plan on doing at my wedding in April. Good Luck!
  5. I too wanted a tropical destination wedding and live in Northern CA, so we figured Hawaii but I was concerned about the food and the cost of guests flying there. So in the end we decided to get married in San Diego, a reasonable airfare for guests, and then we could easily continue on to Hawaii for the honeymoon. That way we still got a somewhat tropical...
  6. It's funny I was in the opposite boat than you are a few years ago. I'm the one with Celiac and my boyfriend, now fiance, was the one trying to figure out what the hell was wrong with me. My stomach was constantly bloated, I never wanted to leave the house in fear of not being close enough to a bathroom. For awhile my boyfriend even thought it was his driving...
  7. Tom Sawyer all the way! Since I was introduced to it I haven't used anything else. I love it, especially because it already has the xathan gum in it, so I don't have to buy it. Everything I make with Tom's blend comes out fabulous!

    ARCHIVED Sushi?

I love Sushi and I have found a place that works out for me. I just have them use steamed rice instead of sushi rice, leave off any kind of sauce, and avoid any imitation crab or deep fried item unless they have a dedicated fryer. The sushi in the grocery store can be tricky and not as tasty as a sushi bar, but I've found as long as you stay away from the...
  9. I called general mills this morning and here's what they told me: the barley malt has been replaced with molasses, making Strawberry Chex gluten free. However, they do not plan on labeling the box gluten free as they did with the Rice Chex. In fact, there is talk of removing the large gluten free label on the Rice Chex, as General Mills wants their consumers...
  10. I took the risk of buying Annie's Dressing and it was a bust. I had one taste and throw it in the trash. Now I just make my own.
  11. Where you at the local Celiac support group meeting this past week? The group got to sample the pizza you speak of and it was quite tasting. Only cheese has been confirmed to be gluten free so watch out for the other toppings.
  12. I hadn't even considered the dentist as a place to be concerned about gluten free issues until I read an article in the most recent edition of Living Without yesterday. I'm going to call my dentist and inquire so I know before my next appointment.
  13. I'd love to know about Happy Underground Sushi. I know sometimes the sushi rice is or is not safe based on the type of vinegar used. Could you please share any ordering tips and what's your favorite on the menu? Thanks
  14. I suggest using tom sawyer flour and following their recipe. I had tried other recipes and mixes in the past but this is the best by far. Open Original Shared Link
  15. Here's the direct link in case you still didn't find it: Open Original Shared Link
  16. Where on the website did you find this? Previous threads discuss herbal essence having wheat protein in them but I do not see that on my bottles' label.
  17. What about baked potatoes with all the fixings or what about rice? I have this recipe for cheesy rice I love. I know it sounds strange, but it's quite yummy. You can add in shrimp or chicken and make it a main dish or leave the protein out and keep it as a side. If you're interested PM me and I'll share the recipe.
  18. What can we have at Paesano's?
  19. I second that. A toaster is a must for all the gluten-free bread I've bought. I personally like the energy tapioca bread when I'm in a pitch but generally I make my own bread.
  20. I know what you mean about not wanting to buy things in bulk if they're not any good, but I lucked out today at Costco and they were sampling the Trio's and they're quite delicious, so I bought a box, and it only comes to 80cents a bar which is a really good deal. I normally buy boomi bars (you can get the Costco discount if you call and provide your membership...
  21. Might I suggest a gluten free cruise? There are several threads discussing Royal Caribbean cruise liners. Otherwise, I would determine where you are going and depending on the length of your trip, research and find 2 or 3 restaurants ahead of time that you know you can go to. Usually if you're staying at a nice hotel with it's own restaurant the chefs are...
  22. I would just call their corporate office. They'll know best.
  23. For about the first two weeks of going gluten free all I ate was plain chicken and rice or a potato because I knew it was save and in a way it starts to detox your body. I slowly reintroduced things into my diet so that if i was mistaken about something being gluten free that wasn't then I knew for sure what made me sick. At first it can be frustrating but...
  24. My boyfriend and I watch every week and we wish they would have professional dancers on to show what a professional tango or quickstep should actually look like, even though you can find videos of that online elsewhere. We're rooting for Will and still undecided about which girl we like best. I just wish Thane wasn't always so perky and smiling; that can...
  25. I've been to Chevy's and ate the chips and the corn tortillas without any issues, even though there is a concern for cross contamination. I've found I don't seem to be super sensitive and thus risk CC from time to time and more often than not don't notice any bad results. I love the portabello mushrooms fajitas.
