ARCHIVED Dental Problem
Amber M replied to Amber M's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I just got done reading on several sites about it and wow, sounds great. My five dental appointments for this don't start till Feb. 9 so I have time to give this a try. It is the least envasive detox I have ever heard of. Love it! Are you using the sunflower because its cheaper than the coconut? I read the coconut is better tasting. Could I get the... -

Yah, you pushed it goober!! I have always had to sleep the rest of the day of procedures! What the heck, shopping, wrapping, vacuming? You should have rested....If the discomfort continues, better call the doc. Moody too could be side affect of meds. The next day (after the last one) I felt like a million bucks. I had been so blocked up for so long... -

I read a book on that several years ago. It has beautiful pictures of the oil combinations. I really wanted to get into it more but could not afford to buy the oils at the time. I find it very interesting though. I'll google it. Let me know how it goes. -

Thanks for the responses all of you. I am a bit depressed with all of this, but I am on a mission to do what I need to. They have me set up for 5 appointments, all 2 weeks apart to do deep scailing and then decide if I need gum surgery. I kept telling them I had sensitivity for the last 2 years and they couldn't find anything wrong other than the gums... -
ARCHIVED What Symptoms Are Reliable Indicators For Recovery
Amber M replied to tmb's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Gluten Sensitivity does not show on a typical Celiac blood test or Biopsy, yet it can cause severe gluten ataxia and lower colon problems. (lots of info on this site and others.) Just thought I'd drop that for you. -
ARCHIVED What Symptoms Are Reliable Indicators For Recovery
Amber M replied to tmb's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Yes, it is very risky. My daughter developed 3 auto-immune diseases in the last 5 years, the time it took me to find out (by gene test) that I am gluten sensitive and have gluten ataxia. Because I have a gene from each parent (my test results are below), it means my daughter for sure has at least one of the genes. If she were to have 2, one would be from... -
ARCHIVED How Long Til I Feel Better?

You didn't check your flavored coffee???? Anything "FLAVORED" is usually a red flag.... Yes, the digest enzymes have saved me from the whole acid reflux problem... I got off the prylosec and other stuff completely. I had found out that long term use of acid reducers causes malabsorption too, and of course completely ruins the acids and enzymes we need... -
I had a friend ask me today, "Don't you miss it?" ( the gluten) I have to say, most of the time I keep an upbeat attitude, but the other day while my husband sat and ate a chocolate, coconut covered donut from a local bakery, I did say, "I could just mow on that right now." And last I went shopping I, for a moment, thought, "oh the heck with it, I'm just...

I listened and learned alot on this site about the vitimans and minerals, but then I went to other sites and researched them to learn about amounts and things. You really should find out if you have deficencies. My allergist recommended some things and I take a multi with extra vit. C, magnesium, vit.D. I also started about 2 months ago on a digestive... -
ARCHIVED Still Having Leg Pains, When Will They Go Away?
Amber M replied to LoisArbuckle's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Ya, you need a good doctor. Check with largest hospital in your area for a listing on doctors. I would have the vit. dif. tests too. My constant leg "charlie horses" are almost gone (unless I slip) by taking the magnesium that my Allergist recommended. It's funny you saying the leg growing pains as far back as you can remember. I jarred my memory of... -
ARCHIVED One Test Negative, One Positive, Do I Have Celiac?
Amber M replied to Tom W's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I agree with the others. This is nothing to fool around with. You need a doctor that knows more about this (hard to find). If I were you, I would have the "Endescope with Biopsy" since the serum was positive. Mine came back negative but the gene test afterwards showed the "gluten sensitive" genes. I have gluten "ataxia" (many neurological problems) and... -
ARCHIVED Dental Problem

I just went to the dentist today (6 month cleaning) and my gums have deteriorated terribly in the last 6 months! I floss daily and this should not have happened... I read before about teeth being sensitive due to the gluten affecting the enamel, but what about gum disease? All the sudden I need all this gum work and possible gum surgery. What's up with... -
ARCHIVED Genetic Freak? Or Something Else?
Amber M replied to minton's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Thats the way I understand it on the genes, unless I am wrong. Anyone else? I was reading your diagnosis list and am wondering if you are completly gluten free? Are you showing signs of improvement in all ways? I have gluten "ataxia", but am geting better slowly. I am lugume-soy free for years already (although I had minute amounts at times) and... -

Yes, do be careful and drink as many liquids as you are allowed. OMG! You are sooo funny. I love your sense of humor! Before my endescope, I had a dream that I was standing across the room watching myself during the procedure and I woke up and pulled the tube out of my throat and it hit something near my teeth. I was swearing! I decided to tell the... -
ARCHIVED Genetic Freak? Or Something Else?
Amber M replied to minton's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Very interesting. Your mom must have some kind of "wheat thing" with that story! If you knew exactly what the gene tests were, it would help. Like any DQ genes? In other Countries they do recognize more genes that U.S. I tested negative on blood and biopsy as many others have. My gene test did pick up (listed below on signature) and some doctors believe... -
ARCHIVED Just One Bite?
Amber M replied to bigbird16's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Yes, one bite can do it. I get instant cancker sores or sore mouth while I am chewing it, and a funny feeling like glandular down both sides of my neck. That quick for some. I say I could be a gluten detector. I think you could be too! Then it goes on to all the other symptoms. I find myself holding my breath as I walk thru the deli (bread) area of... -
ARCHIVED Sensitivity To Other Foods After gluten-free
Amber M replied to lbd's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Wow! This whole page was very interesting. I have been wondering about this all myself. I have been reading so much research on all of this, I can not recall everything but the one thing that sticks every time is the fact that, way back, once upon a time, our human bodies were not meant to eat gluten or cow's milk. I have read the whole evolution of these... -

As much as I hate the colonoscopy myself, I would for sure follow thru. Just to be on the safe side and know exactly what is going on in the lower intestines too. I will be having one by January. Not looking foward to it myself, but yet I want it because I have constant bowel problems still. Maybe just for ease of mind anyway. Do what they tell you for... -

Wow, you all have been through so much! Kids sometimes grow out of allergies, but the gene thing with the gluten intolorance, I have read, symptoms sometimes subside for awhile and then come back at an older age. I am new to all of this too, and read constantly about it. I do not profess to know it all by any means, but I would be on alert to this and... -

ARCHIVED New Diagnosis
Amber M replied to Roda's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Welcome Roda, I have been gluten free since the end of July of this year. Still not well, but I have improvement. I have gluten ataxia which appears to be slow to improve. My heartburn is almost gone completly and many other things are slowly improving. You will notice your head will clear, the "Fog" will begin to lift. It is amazing! I figured mine... -

Amber M replied to CrazyCanuck's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi Jay, Welcome. I have only been gluten free for since the end of July this year. I had Celiac tests that came back negative (after being gluten free for a bit). I knew I had a problem with it because I had (by advice from my allergist) done the off and on diet. I decided it was worth having the gene test and did so recently. As it turns out, I have...
