  1. Welcome, I started out the same way. Blood test negative, etc. I went to an allergist and did the elimination diet. I had already been allergic to soy for years and since gluten free, I can't eat any grains other than rice. After reading "The Gluten Connection", I understand so much more. I do not have full blown celiac, but severe gluten sensitivity...
  2. I also have had lower back pain for years with no diagnosis other than I have my last lower two vert. somehow fused, they think a birth defect since I never had surgery. Since gluten free, the only time I have a bad back ache now is when I have been glutened too. My daughter has spondilosis of the spine, which can be caused by celiac I have read. I firmly...
  3. I agree, I was skeptical at that information too for awhile. I have been 6 months gluten free and have had several attacks from cross-contamination. Hard to believe, I know, but it is so with most of us. I do not have celiac, but have severe gluten sensitivity with many nuerological symptoms. The best thing I have read besides all of the information from...
  4. I did feel better for about 4 or 5 days. (The longest stretch so far) Still haven't lost any fillings and my mouth feels great. I seem to pull mucus up the throat pretty much daily. During my down time, my ear tube fell out (I can always tell) and my ear plugged up tight again. This has bee an ongoing problem for over 20 years. I am hoping the mucus...
  5. It seems from all I have read lately on this topic, it can be a good sign (if you are getting enough fiber) and it could be a bad sign because it can be malabsorption. I think we have to go over our diets and individual condition at the time to help figure it out. A doctor could think you were fine (thinking the fiber issue) and skip over the possibility...
  6. I had the endescope with biopsy after being gluten free for over two months and it also came back negative. That is why I decided to have the gene test (results below) and then did a pile of research on the genes that I have. Gluten sensitivity is the beginning of celiac disease and can cause many serious neurological problems with or without digestive...
  7. I am taking magnesium, Non Flushing Niacin, 60 mcg vit. B 12, vitamin D, Flax Oil and a multi vitamin and enzymes for digestion. I haven't eaten soy in years (allergic) and recently gave up all other grains except rice. I have been allergic to some legumes for years and now have cross-reactivity with all legumes, so gave them all up. I did not show a...
  8. Thanks so much for posting these articles. It really helps me understand what is happening to my brain with the blood flow. I have been very discouraged lately as I have beee 5 months gluten free and my neurological problems are still pretty bad. I get a few good days, but mostly bad ones. I am so hoping the 6 month mark will show some good changes. ...
  9. I have had neurological symptoms for a long time. I have been gluten free for over 5 months now and still only have one or two days here and there without balance problems, facial and limb numbness. I was thinking it was accidental glutening, which it may have been, but there is alot of the time I am sure I have not come into contact with it. From what...
  10. I had very loose stools for years and then, the last five or so, the more gluten I ate, the more compacted I got. I can't remember if the "softballs" I would finally give birth to floated or not! LOL!!
  11. Well, it's what week 3 now for me? (can't remember exactly) I haven't lost any fillings yet but have been down for the count. Spent 3 days partly in bed. I have full blown gluten symptoms again, but can not figure out if it's a healing crisis, gluten (I just don't think I ate any), or reactions to new foods. I had dropped corn for over 3 weeks and then...
  12. I had the blood test and found out they only did one part of it first of all, and then I was gluten free for a few weeks, but mine came back negative. I had done the challenge diet and had good results off of the gluten and sicker than a dog back on it. I had the gene test because I was sure it was the gluten. I am severly gluten sensitive, but do not...
  13. I'm back, just checked out the site, you must read it. It is not a sign of good health. I was mis-informed. There are several causes including celiac and bacteria. I would speak with your doctor, you might have malabsorption.
  14. I say check out the site Shay listed, but I always heard that floaters were a sign of good health. Let us know what you find out. Think I'll check the site too.
  15. All good advice here. I also just found and have been in touch with the head of the Celiac organization in my state. First thing she recommended was the book, "The Gluten Connection" by Shari Lieberman. I just read it. Wow, it covers all of it and also sets up a 3 part vitamin and other supplement schedule. I have been almost 6 months with a lot of down...
  16. Yes, you need to find a specialist, an arthritis doctor? Let us know.
  17. Thanks so much to both of you. I will be checking this out! Sorry it took me so long to get back here. Haven't been feeling too well. Thanks again.
  18. I agree. I believe there is a deeper cause of fibro. They just haven't figured it out. I think it is a side affect of other conditions like celiac, lyme, and other diseases. The Drug industry would never want us to know that! LOL! I think the medical community is starting to figure it out, at least some of them. I think I'm going to go ahead and...
  19. With that kind of reaction to a bee sting, I'd worry about the next time too. A nurse told me (when my husband was in the hospital and they were asking allergy questions) that until something is introduced to the body at least once, you won't have a reaction until the antibodies are produced. It takes the second or third time before it is severe. So I...
  20. Your son may be "gluten sensitive" rather than celiac. It might be worth doing the diet to try and see if the cough stops.
  21. I'm sorry you have to eat the gluten right now. I chose not to and the biopsy came back negative after being gluten free for over 2 months. But I had the gene test because of that. I don't have a problem with dairy, at least not yet, but the other intorerances, I noticed after being gluten free, but what I think is that I felt so sick before that I may...
  22. Angle, that was a really good answer. I needed to hear that! I have beat my brains (foggy) out trying to know "the all". I have done so much research that my ignorant doctors listen to me because they are so uninformed on this condition....but, I am so tired of it! I am going to heed your advice and just eat what sets well. I have also had great problems...
  23. My gluten reaction is dry cough and weezing along with many other things. When ever I wheeze, I go back over what I have eaten. I think it is part of it. I hope you realize how serious a condition you have and the autoimmune diseases you can get if you do not stay off gluten for good. Please think about this. Especially with the DQ 2 gene!! Take care...
  24. Your right, the freezer and other prepared breads suck!! I used a bread maker and found a few good mixes. I can't remember them now because I had to stop eating them. I can't digest any grains but rice right now. I found them in local stores though. They were good. It's worth buying the bread maker for sure. Allergies, well, I had some before gluten...
