  1. Is there a health food store around you? They usually carry gluten free flours and mixes. There are several gluten free bread mixes all ready for the bread maker (includes gluten free yeasts) The instructions are right on the back of the package for the bread maker. Pick med. or light crust for best resluts. I tried them and they are good, but I can not...
  2. Funny about the fiber. My nutritionist kept telling me to eat more fiber (before I was diagnosed) and the more I ate, the more constipated I got! I kept telling her it didn't work for me. After I went gluten free, my allergist told me to take magnesium for all of the neuro symptoms as well as the constipation. I had to get up to 1000 mgs. before it started...
  3. I have been gluten free for about 4 months, and YES, there is a big diff. I had many neuro symptoms, and still some. I have slipped and eaten gluten a few times and I swear I could be a "gluten detector" because it creeps over me like a black cloud in a short period of time. My focus has improved greatly and I don't walk in circles wondering what I am doing...
  4. I'm only 4 months gluten free and still learning. I developed several food intolerances because of my intestinal damage. I still can not eat the gluten free breads, some grains just don't digest yet, but my allergist says they may in time. The gluten free prepared breads pretty much suck. The home baked ones are good if you can digest them, but don't...
  5. What do you think about Cold Pressed Flax seed oil. I started that recently. Can you tell me if you think it soothes? I feel like it is helping. Thanks
  6. Thanks so much for your research. I am going to try the sublingual anyway. I discovered my muti vitimin has 60 mcg of vit. B 12 and I have never broke out from them. When I started the vit. B 12 supplement, I started at 100 mcg and progresively went up. By the time I had 400 mcg at lunch and then again at supper and the next day 500 mcg at lunch with the...
  7. I think I am going on 4 months gluten free, with a couple of slips. I have good days and bad days. Just when I think I am free of the symptoms, they re-appear with a vengence. It sets me into a panic going back over ingredients again and again only to discover I have NOT eaten gluten. So I am in the same delima. My Allergist said that I sould see better...
  8. Heres the ingredient list: No Gluten, yeast, wheat, milk or derivatives, lactose, sugar, preservatives, soy, artificial color, artificial flavor or soduim. Other ingredients: dicalium phosphate, mannitol, cellulose (plant origin), croscarmemlose, vegetable stearic acid, vegetable magnesium stearate. Is any of these iodine in desguise? Thanks, Amber
  9. Thanks Shay, I have read a lot of your postings. I have learned so much. I am recovering from last weeks mistake gluten poisoning. I'm doing much better, but I have a question. When does the nasea go away? I get naseated off and on out of the clear blue, and dizzy. I feel like if I thought about it much, I would puke! Did you? Any suggestions? (I...
  10. Thanks for your response. I will mention this to my Allergist. I tried a diff. brand over 6 years ago and the same thing happened. This new brand was soy free, wheat free and all of the allergy stuff free, but perhaps it was the binders. I will look into this. The funniest thing was I was reading the foods high in Vit.B12 and Clams were the highest...
  11. I will never eat gluten again! My deceased grandmother had intestinal problems all of her life. She lost about 1/2 of them when she was very young. My father and I were talking about it last night. Her mother also had the same problems according to my father. Of course, back then, they probably did not have the disease figured out, or at least named...
  12. I have pain in my legs, and everywhere. (3 months gluten free except a few slips) I have charlie horses that won't quit some times. My allergist has me taking 1000 mg of magnesium for this. It is helping. I saw a neurologist too for many other neurological symptoms. She diagnosed me with hyperventalation syndrome, saying it caused all the symptoms....
  13. Thanks so much for your response too Viv. I am 51 and I never suspected all of my health problems were wheat related either until a friend mentioned Celiac disease and I started reading about it. I am going thru Entrolab this week to have the stool and gene test. I think my daughter has it too. She has Graves disease and artheritis at 34 years old. Many...
  14. Hi, Welcome. I am new here too, 3 months gluten free. You are lucky you got so many responses. I am beginning to feel unwelcome, no one ever answers me it seems. I have many intorerences right now caused by the wheat. My Allergist says I can try a few more things after about 6 months of being gluten free. As for all of your symptoms, I can relate,...
  15. I feel the same way, my endescope and blood tests came back negative. My Allergist had already had me to the Challenge diet, I started getting better off the gluten, and worse back on. I am only 3 months gluten free. I was feeling better, but lately bad again. Lots of neurological symptoms and my colon feels on fire. I have thought my- self of ovarian...
  16. I have been gluten free for 3 months now and felt better at first, now I have still a lot of neurological symptoms and intollerances to many other foods. I get panic-ed that I have eaten gluten even when I am sure I haven't. I had the blood test after I had gone gluten free twice and reintroducted twice, but was gluten free about 2 weeks and then gluten...
  17. Hi, I am new here and have been gluten free for 3 months with many other intorances right now still. I have been allergic to Soy for over 30 years. I am still in the process of educating myself too. The trouble is, I still have a lot of symptoms and especially neurological ones. I get so upset because I have a few good days and then go down hill again...
  18. I am new to this site, only posted a several times so far. I would like to say I appreciate everyones advice here and appreciate when someone comes back with warnings because it prevents me from jumping right in to every supplement out of desperation to feel better. I have gone from this site when I read about vitimins and enzymes, etc, to other sources...
  19. I had the endescope with biopsy on last Wens. On Thursday evening I had the worst ocular and head migraine with severe visual disturbances. Then last night, my lower right abdomen was in pain and burning inside. Now I have upper right intestine pain and burning with alot of noise. My stool shows no blood that I can see and I have no fever or vomiting....
  20. I can't believe it. I have had tail bone problems all lower back problems (fused last 2 vert. naturally). They never knew why. Said it might have been conj. I get up every day with a horrible back ache. Had a Bone Density yesterday and the Tech. said there is a problem in the lower area and suggested Thyroid panel and Back Exray. Haven't gotten the full...
  21. Thanks so much for your response. I had beans that were home made by a friend (2 bites). I did check out her other ingredients and it seems all was gluten free except possibly the pork fat? But I also discovered my gluten free lunch the next day made by a "gluten free" friend, contained soup with broth, a hugh gluten mix, I am sure, so between the 2 days...
  22. I thought I was the only over weight person with gluten int. Some times people and Doctors look at me like I'm crazy because your suppose to be under weight ! So glad to hear all this. I have gained one pound since gluten free over a month ago. I think that I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't have gluten, so I was making up for it in the...
  23. jerseyangel, I have to ask, I have been allergic to lugume for years, and recently am gluten free. My allergist tested the lugumes again and it came back negative. I tried 2 bites of beans last week to try it, and got sick with what appeared to be "gluten symptoms". (I'm quite sure I did not eat gluten) What do you mean when you say "delayed" attack? ...
  24. Glad I read this page. I have had many coldsores, and a rash on my butt off and on for 8 months, dry scaily elbow, knees and feet. My back itches steady! I also always wondered why my palms and feet bottoms were always orange. Any one know about this one? Amber M
