  1. 33 days til my gluten free wedding :)

  2. I was told when I was first diagnosed that with this disease you find out who your friends are... boy is that true! I am finding that some of the people in my life are SO amazing and thoughtful, have read what they can, asked me questions, educated themselves in a way to be more understanding and helpful. My future in-laws and family have been amazing...
  3. I struggle to maintain weight, it has always been hard for me to keep enough weight on. I am stereotypical of the "wasting" part of celiac. I look heaelthier now one year gluten free but as soon as I went off the gluten I dropped weight fast. I struggled to eat enough whole foods to put it on and its just not physically possible for me. Even with three meals...
  4. I have said that gluten pains and endo pains can feel so similar! I had to make myself a check list for when I'm not feeling well that helps me differentiate which I'm going through. I wish there was some better hope for us. I can handle celiac - I face that crap with my fighting gloves on. Eat right, take care, I'm fine. But the endo... different story....
  5. I am looking for any celiacs out there that might have endometriosis also that I can chat with. Going gluten free completely changed my world for the better for a few months. Well obviously forever, but what I'm trying to say is that my endo symptoms and issues have gotten so much worse since. I am struggling a lot with it and would love to find someone to...
  6. I was told by the first allergy doctor that tested me that I was definitely allergic to peanuts. The second one I went to said I wasn't allergic at all. So I began trying to eat peanuts and peanut butter. My tolerance for it gets lower and lower and I've found that I cannot even eat a small amount now. My main symptom is horrible pain in my lower pelvic/belly...
  7. I was more worried about inhaling it, so I guess since its not a powder that shouldn't be an issue anyway? There are lots of chemical hazard warnings but no allergen warnings so I would think you are right.
  8. It seems I read somewhere that glues can have gluten in them. I need to use E-6000 tonight for a project and I cannot find the information on ingredients anywhere. There aren't ingredients on the package or listed on the website or any other page I have googled. The package just says it contains perchlorethylene. Does anybody have experience with e-6000?...
  9. I need to find a pain medication that I can take regularly. On their website Aleve says they dont add any gluten ingredients but that it's produced in a facility with other gluten containing ingredients. Does anybody have personal experience with Aleve?
  10. I react to any type of wheat or oats in shampoo, conditioner, makeup, body soap. I had a full blown reaction from mascara with hydrolyzed wheat protein. Definitely steer clear of gluten in your beauty products!
  11. I eat the gluten free rice krispies quite often with no issues and I am sensitive to very small amounts of gluten. I also have dh. I wonder if there's another food allergy on there or something else you're missing?
  12. Strawberry_Jam you are right on. When I met my fianc
  13. I hope that my post wasn't misleading.... I have never, ever, once not even for a minute strayed from my gluten free diet, regardless of how busy I am. My reaction to even a small amount of gluten is severe and takes weeks to months to recover from. The point was that if I am on the road and haven't packed food, and am in a situation where its eat gluten...
  14. Do you happen to have an iPhoone? I have an amazing app on it called My Fitness Pal. I don't know if its available on a regular website? It keeps track of your calorie goal and as you add each food you eat it tells you how much you still need that day as far as calories, iron, vitamins, etc. It's been very useful for me. The best part is the barcode scanner...
  15. At this point I honestly don't want kids at all. With all my medical "issues" I would feel awful passing that on to a child. But I want to leave the option open as log as I can. I'm getting married in 4 months and I know that things will change a little with that and as my new business gets settled. It's all frustrating, I really want to enjoy this part of...
  16. Thank you for that reply Rosetapper23! Makes me feel a lot less crazy. I actually had the mirena last year and the side effects were pretty bad - bad enough that I had it taken out. I was SO RELIEVED when it was taken out that a lot of my irritaing side effects were gone. Unfortunately, without the hormone suppressing my endo it got much, much worse. I ended...
  17. My friend recently purchased glasses at cheapglasses123.com and she LOVES them. She said the quality is better than the ones she purchased at Costco. I will definitely be getting my next ones there. Open Original Shared Link
  18. I am headed to Las Vegas not once, but twice in the next three months. I am a LITTLE concerned. I am a sensitive celiac and have only travelled once since going gluten free. The trip was successful with no glutening but it was sure not very fun :/ I took a loaf of UDI's bread and some peanut butter and some other snack stuff. It was a last minute family thing...
  19. That is good to hear! When I read that I needed to be concerned about that ingredient as well it felt frustrating to me because it is in a LOT of cosmetics. I have gotten glutened from very small amounts in the past so I am always overly-cautious.
  20. Wouldn't a personal chef be nice? My fiance has stepped in and started cooking for me. He is awesome. He has taken this whole journey with me as we were together for a year when I was diagnosed. He is the only person that I trust to cook for me. The birth control is not a pill but the mirena. I would not be reliable with pills and they all caused me horrible...
  21. A reallllly important point that the leader of my celiac support group pointed out to me - feeling super depressed, frustrated, and hopeless are total red flags that you've been glutened. When I joined the support group it was because I was feeling all of those things and very scared. Turned out I was definitely being cross contaminated. Even the most minute...
  22. I have a pretty clear cut reaction to gluten when I get cross contaminated. It can be less or more severe depending on how much I got in me and how long I was exposed before I realized it... I even have a list of the symptoms I normally get that I keep in my notebook. Since brain fog is one of the top most frustrating things that happens, that list helps...
  23. I am looking for anyone that has used this product and knows if it is gluten free or not? The only concerning ingredient that I can see is tocopherol acetate but I am new to this whole gluten in cosmetics thing and from what I can tell, Neutrogena no longer publishes a gluten free list. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  24. I have found quite a few articles online and even on this forum about tocopherol acetate being either synthetically or naturally derived. From what I've read if its naturally derived it can come from wheat, corn or soy. I just don't know if there's a way to tell which my new product comes from. It is not listed d- or di- before so I guess I have to call the...
