  1. More spedically I am wondering if neutrogena oil free acne stress control face wash is gluten free. The only tricky ingredient I can see is tocopherol acetate. Their offices aren't open on the weekends for me to call.
  2. How important is it to avoid this in cosmetics and how do I know if a product I have containing this is gluten free?
  3. My roommate thoughtfully bought me a box of sees candy for my birthday... He researched and found that most of their candies are gluten free and went to the store and hand picked the ones that they told him were safe. I googled it and found Sees to only list four of their candies as containing gluten, mostly holiday stuff. I was wondering I anyone has experiences...
  4. That was my exact story a well. Misdiagnosed and treated with meds for bipolar that gave me awful side effects. Once I went gluten free I was completely leveled and I couldn't even explain the clarity I felt for the first time in my life. When I get accidentally glutened I feel that brain dog and moodiness come bag immediately and it makes me wonder how...
  5. The biscuits from Lucille's BBQ
  6. You really can't know until you get tested. All of the things you mentioned are definitely symptoms of Celiac, however they can be symptoms of Other things as well, that is why they call Celiac disease the Great Immitator.
  7. This is absolutely appalling. Those kids are at serious risk for so many problems both physical and emotional. A great point was already made, it should be pointed out to her that if her kids are doing so much better on this "gluten free" diet than it's definitely not a gluten issue or the whole wheat products she's feeding the would have them very I'll....
  8. You may also check with the county program where you live. In Ca we have CMISP which pays medical costs for people under a certain income level that don't qualify for medi cal. You can google your county's department of health and human services and they should be able to point you in the right direction.
  9. Diane is right, gluten withdrawal can be pretty harsh. I had migraines and dizziness from it. I am a strong proponent of a COMPLETELY clean diet for at least a month. No dairy, no packaged foods, no nuts, nothing that could in your wildest dreams be an allergen. Then once you feel a big difference in yourself you can add things back in one thing per week...
  10. I have accidental glutening before and my reactions are almost always exactly the same down to the hour. I usually know exactly what to expect, I also always figure it out and discontinue the culprit within a few days. Well this time I didn't realize I was getting glutened. I was eating some candy every day for two weeks that was making me sick but because...
  11. I don't have Chron's but I have a close friend that does. I can relate to feeling like life is getting ruined by all these symptoms and issues. You will really find out who you're friends are through this- I have one who makes me feel like dirt anytime I can't make a social engagement because I've been accidentally glutened and then on the other hand a few...
  12. I'm not sure about the healing from the thin parts thing... I think each persons symptoms asks healing process are a little different. I still get the huge bloated belly even after being gluten free for 8 months. That's sometimes how I know I've gotten into something I shouldn't have but I also have gallbladder issues so that's usually the culprit. It can...
  13. My spouse to be is AMAZING! He very rarely eats anything with gluten at all and if he does he let's me know sand refuses to kiss me until he cleans up. We have cut 250 people off of our wedding guest list in order to be able to afford a gluten free dinner and cake. I don't want to take any chances. I felt so much better before I adds packaged foods back in...
  14. Happy birthday this post made my day as its giving me hope! I was undiagnosed for 20 years, ecstatic to finally have an answer and feel better. But I feel like I've been more sensitive than ever, even the tiniest bit of cc and I'm down for days. Your post gives me so much hope not ro give up on myself. Thank you
  15. Because it seems to be getting harder! The first few months of being gluten free I felt so incredible I thought nothing could bring me down. The last few months have been one case of accidental glutening after another. As soon as I start to recover from one episode I get knocke down with another. It's really taking a toll on my emotional well being. I think...
  16. I was reacting to my dogs food as well. Besides them licking things and transporting crumbs you also inhale the dust when you feed them. All of our dogs are on Tuscan Natural now and I haven't had issues from it. Nylabone products made me very sick so definitely check any treats, bones, etc. as well.
  17. And to add to my comment some of these comments are unbelievable! Just because somebody is more sensitive or than you does not make them wrong. We are all here for the same reasons and should be more supportive of each other. After being completely gluten free for months I took the advice of a doctor and switches back to my favorite gluten containing products...
  18. Regardless of what other might say I have gotten incredibly I'll from makeup with gluten in it, even mascara. Some people are more sensitive than others but it is virtually impossible to keep from inhaling and ingesting makeup. She you wash your face where does all the makeup run? Right down past your mouth. And how often do you touch your face and hair?...
  19. I talked to Hershey on the phone yesterday and their explanation was that because the non-gluten candy bars come in the same bag as the gluten containing (krackle and mr. Goodbar) they get cross contaminated because they are wrapped in a simple folded piece of foil a opposed to a sealed wrapper. The lady I spoke to said they ate consider changing their labeling...
  20. Going through it again, just sick enough to KNOW I've gotten glutened somehow. The only thing I've had that's different is the Hershey's special dark miniatures. I read the bag and thought they were ok but now I'm reading online on many different sites that neither the special dark or any of the minis are gluten free. I swear I checked the label! What gives...
  21. Thank you both for the great advice! I will definitely check on some of those meetups and support groups. I started working out again today (I had taken the last 6 months off because the new diet was hard for me to adjust to and I lost weight that I could t afford to) and I feel so much better after working out. Like eatmeat4good said, one meal and one day...
  22. After being diagnosed and going gluten free people would always say how much it sucked for me or was unfair. I never felt that way, I have just been so happy to find an answer with a solution that doesn't require surgery or drugs. It's been an up and down battle but when things are up, I feel so much better than I ever could have imagined. I don't know...
  23. Well it's day two of being sick with my Nylabone glutening and I feel so discouraged I can't see my way out of it. I feel like I am always going to be sick from SOMETHING. I wrote back to the company explaining that because they said their product was ok I have it to my dog and in return I am now sick. I told them they should remove their gluten free labeling...
  24. Great advice sticking to raw natural products. I feel so discouraged right now. We are getting married in 7 months & I can't help but wonder how on earth I could have children? If they are lucky enough not to hve celiac I'm so afraid I would be terrified of getting glutened constantly!
  25. Huge apology to Skylark, I read the top of the post incorrectly and it was Gemini that I meant the response to. I apologize again.
