  1. Update: gave the puppy the nylabone and she went through it so fast I got her another. I'm sick now. There's been absolutely nothing else that I have been around that could cause the problem. Really kicking myself for taking the chance now. Totally not worth it
  2. Skylark you clearly haven't used Nylabone products before or at least not the bone I am referring to. It is covered in a BBQ flavored coating which is what I was worried about so no, i dont have plans on chewing on my dogs bone. If you are truly such a sensitive celiac (as I am) then you should have some experience gettig sick from some pretty odd circumstances...
  3. Would I get those at the butcher? I think that's what my mom used to give our dogs when I was growing up.
  4. I received an email today from the company and this is what they said - Hi Nikki - Nylabone
  5. -ravenwoodglass- definitely let me know if you remember that none you use! I love to give her something to chew on be sides my hands lol
  6. Thanks for the reply. I'm still waiting on a reply from the company. I guess I can try giving it to her and see if I get sick. Or maybe I'll just play it safe and return it!
  7. Hi! I recently got a puppy and the food she was already on from the breeder is gluten free so there's no worries there. The store we buy our food from says they only carry gluten free pet foods. I bought her a Nylabone because the packing states in multiple places that it is gluten free. However, on the ingredients list on the back of the package the first...
  8. I go through the same thing. I already take b12 every day anyway so I wouldn't knownif that helps. It really is the most frustrating and longest lasting symptom for me and the only thing that helps in my case is having an extremely understanding boyfriend and knowing that EVENTUALLY I'll get back to "normal"
  9. I cam drink sodas no problem but tea has always upset my stomach. I haven't tried it since going gluten free because it uses to send me straight to the bathroom so it doesn't even appeal to me anymore :/
  10. I don't react right away. The next day the fatigue, lethargic feelings, brain fog, dizziness and extreme emotional upset start. Then I know it's coming. Usually the day after that the actual pain and stomach upset comes. But I know a girl who says she reacts immediately, ven while she's eating the culprit soni suppose it can be different for everyone.
  11. This seems a little overwhelming now, all of the iodine foods to avoid on top of gluten :/ I really try not to get discouraged but it seems like it just got really hard again!
  12. Thank you so much! I did not know about the iodine. Ive always considered myself lucky that I only had one unbearable severe skin reaction back before I knew I had celiac. This is gettig really annoying though.
  13. I call bs. Doctors used to think that children with celiac would recover (really it was just because they were off gluten that Rey were better) but the patients that went back to gluten ended up with intestinal cancers. That is how we know that untreated celiac causes cancer. I want to not have this as much as the next person but I prefer to learn from the...
  14. I have been gluten free for five months and have never felt better. However I have a DH outbreak on both sides of my neck that I have not been able to get rid of. I realizes my hairspray had gluten in it so I replaced that. As far as I know I am using absolutely no gluten products except eyeshadow. Does te rash only flare upfrom topical glutting or does accidental...
  15. I had heard that MK lipstick was a no-no for us so I have not used it at all. But I have about 10 almost brand new tubes of it and was really feeling like it would be a waste to get rid of so I looked up the ingredients. They looked ok to me so i started wearing it a few days ago. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not but my perfect reaction free streak...
  16. I do make hommemade pina coladas with coco lopez all the time with no reaction. Thankfully. I just don't want to throw this away if its not necessary and wondering for future reference as well.
  17. I used to love The Club pina coladas, those little cans you can buy at the liquor store. I still have one in my fridge and I'm wondering if it's ok. The ingredients say rum, non-dairy creamer liquer, and natural flavors. There is no company information and I have tried to find anything online and can't even find a phone number. Does anybody know if these...
  18. I'm dealing with the flour in the kitchen thing. I felt amazing for two months then got a new roommate that is a chef and bakes bread from scratch at least twice a week- flour all over the kitchen. It took four weeks of hell to figure out that's what has been making me sick. Even though I havebit pinpointed I still feel incredibly discouraged, like this is...
  19. Now that I'm realizing just how sensitive I am, it's starting to scare me. I really thought that cutig gluten out of my diet was the cure to everything. But it seems every time I turn around I find something new to wary out for- restaurants, roommates, dog food and treats, etc. I am realizing how obsessively clean and careful I have to be but I'm curious...
  20. Owning a salon, the shampoo thing has been an issue for me too. I just can't seem to wash my hair without the shampoo running down my face no matter how hard I try. I know how damaging store brand shampoos are to hair ESPECIALLY if you get your hair colored or highlighted. Paul Mitchell is by no means the best salon brand but the Awapui shampoo smells great...
  21. Those are all great ideas. This guy had great references, actually noes from just down the street. I guess the problem was that it was too new for me to even knowthe "rules" to explain. I definitely know better now for next time. I fond new things all the time that I didn't know before & it's so mch to remember. I guess I won't be doing my major Christmas...
  22. Thanks for the info everybody. It helps me to know that CC really CAN make you thatsick andthat I'm not imagining things & more importantly, that there's an answer. I talked to my fianc
  23. P.S. The roommate happens to be a chef and his attitude about celiac not being "that bad" makes me scared to ever eat out! If a chef wouldn't take the time to educate themselves on how to avoid making their roommate sick I shudder to think how he would behave in a restaurant
  24. I guess I never realized how big of an issue cross contamination could be, and therefore neither did my fianc
  25. I am allergic to sulfates and in turn can't drink wine. If I have antibiotics with sulfates in them I get SICK... hives, fever, etc. But if I have wine I get a much more mild reaction, headache or migraine, itchiness, etc. Do you react to other things with sulfates in them? Lemons get me sick too if I have too much. If I take an allergy med it DOES help,...
