  1. This happened to me just last night & I when I saw this post, I thought to myself, "this is me exactly." We went to a restaurant last night & I got glutened. All of a sudden when I got home I started with brain fog and was very sleepy. Then the anxiety came. I was having a panic attack for sure. I couldn't sleep well all night, my heart was...
  2. I totally agree with all of the responses. I have had anxiety all of my life and I do take Xanax like Ravenwoodglass does; only if I need it and I have no problem with dependency. It really does take the edge off, so to speak. Sublingual vitamin B-12 has helped also.
  3. I've had two and never was awake to watch on the screen. I was showed a picture after I woke up. I don't think I could do that. The thought of something going down my throat makes me want to gag! I didn't have any problems during the procedure. The only thing I experienced was a little discomfort in my stomach for a few days. Pepto Bismol helped that...
  4. No, the doctor didn't do anything other than take it out. It's been so long I don't remember too well. Don't they use a laser to get it out? I'll have to ask him when I go for my appt.
  5. I thought I was in menopause then I went gluten free in February and started bleeding in May. Then I started eating gluten for an endoscopy and I didn't bleed again until August when I had been gluten free for about a month after confirming the celiac diagnosis. I really think the celiac is a factor in this. I have an appt with the OB-GYN on October...
  6. Anemia was my first symptom also. The doctor thought I was bleeding somewhere because of the anemia. My hgb was down to 10, my mcv was low and my ferritin was 9. After taking oral iron and a gluten free diet, my hgb is 13. I think that's how a lot of people get diagnosed.
  7. My WBC doesn't go past 3.0 and it has been that way for years. I'm hoping next time I get a CBC after being gluten free for a while it will go up but I am not sure if it will.
  8. I've had anxiety all of my life so I know what you're going through. I big part of my anxiety is the anticipatory anxiety. I also have health anxiety which is a little better now knowing that I have a definitive diagnosis, which is celiac. I had no idea it went along with celiac disease until I found this forum. I still go to therapy to manage it....
  9. I thought all generic Xanax was gluten free. I'll have to check with the company. Thanks.
  10. I had fallen very hard on my backside when roller skating years ago when I was a teenager and I attributed it to that.
  11. Since I've been diagnosed with celiac I want my son to get tested. I asked my gastro about him because now I'm thinking back to when he was a toddler he would get explosive D. We took him to Children's Memorial in Chgo; however that was over 19 years ago and they didn't check for celiac back then. They just said he had allergies. My GI said it is common...
  12. About 3 years ago I started having lower back pain around the tail bone. X-rays showed arthritis. Last year I had pain in my legs that started in my groin area and went down my thighs. I was diagnosed with celiac a year ago from blood tests and then from a biopsy about 6 weeks ago. I'll have to search the net for more information because I did not know...
  13. I went to Whole Foods last night to pick up some gluten free items. I was in a hurry so I couldn't spend a lot of time. I didn't know that they have a gluten free list. The store is so big it can get overhwelming trying to find everything. I'll have to get that list next time I go.
  14. Hope you're doing well with the gluten free lifestyle. I defifnitely have to put a lot of thought in what I eat, but I do feel better. It's so worth it.
  15. I received my results in a week but the results were ready in about 3 days. It was just because I couldn't see the GI for a week. Also, my GI said he couldn't tell just by looking at my intestines. I had severe villi atrophy, inflammation and lymphocytes. After one year of telling the doctors I had it, it was a relief to finally get an offical diagnosis...
  16. Yes, my stomach gurgles a lot lately. I'm trying to be gluten free but I believe I am getting cross contaminated. I think I have lots of other food allergies and would like to be tested.
  17. Yes, I sure have. Actually yesterday it happened. I went with our garden club to the Chicago Botanical Gardens feeling bad; I was just praying that I could get through the day. Today I feel better; what a difference a day makes. I need to be more vigilent with watching what I eat.
  18. No I haven't but I have been thinking about taking magnesium after reading lots of posts. I only take a multi-vitamin that has magnesium (200 mg) but I think I need to take more magnesium. What brand do you recommend? Thanks
  19. I started having tail bone problems about 3 years ago - I only have known about my celiac for about 1 year, but looking back I think I've had celiac since I was five. I had a back x-ray and it showed arthritis in my tail bone. Is that the same as spondylitis? Anyway the tail bone pain started after I had horrible constipation. I have read the pressure...

ARCHIVED Whats The Deal With Drs?

Yes, I had to have two endoscopies to prove it to the GI. When I first told him last year I thought I had celiac, he said to me "but you don't diarrhea." After the first endoscopy I told him I wanted the blood tests, then he took me seriouisly when they were very abnormal. Then he took the biopies for the second one. I know a lot of people would have switched...
  21. Thanks everyone for the replies!
  22. Hello, It seems like since I had the endoscopy I've had more stomach issues than normal. I know that you can develop other food sensitivites so I am assuming that is the problem. My stomach gurgles after almost everything I eat. The GI did tell me I'm probably lactose intolerant too. My intestines have severe inflammation and severe atrophy. I wish...
  23. Thank you!
  24. My tTG was run at Quest Diagnostics and it only took a couple of days.
  25. I got my results today from my biopsy and they were positive - I do have celiac. I posted before that I had an endoscopy last year for iron deficiency anemia and the GI didn't do a biopsy. I should have been more insistent last year but anyway I'm glad it's over. I'm one of those who wanted the offical diagnosis even though my blood tests were very abnormal...
