  1. Yes, that's what my doctor told me after my endoscopy was done last Wednesday.
  2. Okay, thanks for the info. My stomach is a little sore, but definitely is better. I figure I'll remember today August 1st as the start of my gluten-free lifestyle. I read a lot of your posts and I know you suggest to start eating simple and that's what I'm going to do. How long did you have the pain after the procedure?
  3. Yes, I had a sore throat also for a couple of days. I never read any post here about anyone having a sore belly after it but I guess it could happen. You could feel the biopsies? What kind of sedation did you have?
  4. I had my endoscopy on July 29th with biopsies and tonight I have had pain (worse than usual) in the upper abdomen. I shouldn't have pain after the biopsy, should I? I didn't think to ask the GI doctor about pain from the biopsy. It could also be the gluten. I've had it with eating gluten for two months. I think my intestines have had enough. I took...
  5. I had another endoscopy today (I had one a year ago because of iron deficiency anemia) after going back on gluten for two months. My GI said two months was enough. I had been gluten free for only a couple of months prior. I have to go see him next week for the results. It was important to me to have the biopsy. I do have some physicial symptoms from gluten...
  6. I know I posted this before but I thought I would share this with you. I've had a low white count for years. It varies from 2.9 to 3.1. I work for a hematologist and she was never concerned. I'm having an endoscopy next week because my blood tests were high. I am 50 years old and I think I've celiac since a child. Anyway, now it all makes sense. I never...

    ARCHIVED Boston's

Yes, I have tried the pizza and it's very good. I had a veggie pizza.
  8. I can really relate! I've had it in the anal area for years and tried over the counter creams to no avail. The water in the shower would burn the area. The area gets so scaly for me after the bumps come out. Mine should clear up after my endoscopy on 7/29 and I go gluten free. I've gone gluten free in the past and it really clears it up nicely.
  9. I have had a low white count for probably 20 years. I work for a hematologist and she always called it cyclical neutropenia. It went up and down, between 2.9 & 4.5. Now that I found out that I have celiac (positive blood test & having endoscopy on 7/29) it makes sense. I want to talk to the doctor about it. She never even linked it, though.
  10. I've had that "itchy" feeling for years and it's right where you describe, in the "anal" area. And it's always worse when I eat gluten. I'm eating gluten for an endscopy in a few weeke so it's always "itchy". Does the doctor give you anything for the itch?
  11. Are you a diagnosed celiac?
  12. My GI told me to start eating gluten again for 8 weeks before he would schedule the endoscopy. But I had been gluten free (98%) for approx 8 weeks before that. I would continue eating the gluten until the endoscopy is performed.
  13. I have that same problem. I get a rash which is I think is DH. It's very itchy, like you said. Do you have a rash also?
  14. I started out with iron deficient anemia last year. I've thought for a few years though that I had celiac because I got really sick when I ate Nutrigrain waffles. I have had symptoms since a child, which mainly were irritable bowel. The hematologist sent me to the GI doctor. He did endoscopy and colonoscopy but didn't take a biopsy with the endoscopy...

    ARCHIVED Website Problems

Sometimes when I try to click on the website (it's in my favorites) it gives me choices of all different gluten free websites. I cannot find this website. It doesn't happen all the time but the last time it happened it lasted several days until finally I was able to get in. I also try to type in the website. Hope this makes sense.
  16. Hello, I have problems getting on the website occasionally. Any thoughts? Maybe it's my computer. Thanks!
  17. Doesn't the diagnosis of DH mean you do have celiac disease?
  18. I had one last year with a colonoscopy and the endoscopy was so easy. The colonoscopy was rough for me because I could feel cramping. Don't worry - I'm having another one July 29th because my doctor didn't do biopsies the first time. I had to have the blood test to convince him that I have celiac and now he wants to do the biopsy. So I had to start eating...
  19. My husband & I went to Boston's last night. I had a veggie pizza with the gluten free crust. I agree, it was delicious!
  20. This question may have been asked before but I've never seen it. Are fast food french fries (McDonalds, Burger King, etc) gluten free?
  21. Thanks for the info. I haven't been gluten free for as long as you were. I will be 50 next week and I'm sure I've had this since I was a child.
  22. I have had a low WBC for quite some time and I think I've had celiac since I was a child. I just got diagnosed last year. I work for a hematologist and she just calls it "cyclical neutropenia" but maybe it is due to the celiac. I will ask my GI doctor.
  23. I just wanted some opinions on good gluten free salad dressings. Thanks
  24. I went to the GI yesterday and he wants to do a biopsy also because my lab results were positive. I've been off gluten for about 2 months. He said six weeks back on gluten but I'm with you about the positive results of going gluten free. Are you going to do the bx?
  25. What type of foods have soy in it?
