  1. Sorry guys I know all I seem to do is rant my butt off on this boards lately. But this seems to be the only place that would understand. I'll keep it short and sweet...basically what's happening is my roommate is creating situations that would harm my health and expects me to clean up her mess. It was bad enough that she continues to make sandwiches...
  2. If you guys are trying to scare me into going, it's almost working. I'll make my decision tomorrow morning, see if I get any worse. If I do, I may just try to get to a walk-in clinic (since i'm positive ER would make me wait there alllll day and like last time not listen when I tell them what's wrong--last time I waited 8 hours even after describing that...
  3. Hey everyone... I need some of your advice, and by now you'd think I would know already if I have some sort of infection by getting them so often. I can't really get to a doc who would help me until Saturday morning probably, and this started yesterday... do you think 4 days is too long to wait???? I'm convinced its a kidney infection because well.....
  4. Sweet . Kind of weird though too because I searched for it online and couldn't find nothing on it, never thought of checking the yellow pages. Can't wait to check the place out!! If it's any good I'll be sure to tell you hehe ~ Lisa ~
  5. Oohh Ryan, you're my hero lol. How did you find this address, out of curiosity? ~ Lisa ~
  6. Hey guys. At mom's job they listen to Saskatoon's rock station online and the last little while she's been hearing advertisements about the store called "The Gluten Free Zone" which aparently has almost anything a person could need. Now my guess is that it's a new store?? I looked it up online but there is no information. If anyone knows about exactly...
  7. I totally agree with you that having an allergy AND intollerence makes things a lot worse. I had both wheat and dairy show up when I had allergy tests done (this was even after being gluten-free). It's been years but I know that it's likely why I react to both so severely. Have you had asthma tests done??? I found it a huge help knowing just how severe...
  8. Always good to know...my parents were asking me awhile ago yet if I could eat it...now I know ~ Lisa ~
  9. I wish this place existed when I was there in February, thats for sure ...by the time I go back it'll be closed ~ Lisa ~
  10. I'm going to school for a CGA myself and believe it or not, you learn NOTHING about Celiac, it shows up in one line on the textbook. Gluten-free food is treated as a medical expensive, and you can claim is for your dependant as well. I don't actually do it myself, we take our taxes in, but I have a save all my receipts and have my own little...
  11. Paulina, thanks for explaining what that is for me to Elye. It's one of those things that you know what it is and how it affects, but don't know how to put it into words really, eh?? Also thanks for your wishes, I can use all the strength possible, my friends have been amazing so far (the true ones anyways!). You people are all what keeps me going....
  12. Yup very true!! But these 1 1/2 years of being undiagnosed is more than enough, these tests SUCK obviously but I don't want to say no in case my some chance they actualy find the answer to whats wrong and whats making me worse ~ Lisa ~
  13. *Hugs for you* I know how hard it can be for sure. I don't think my situation is as tough as yours, but I agree with others that are you strong for staying together this long. If you've read my posts in the last 1 1/2 yrs you'd know i've been going through way too much, while trying to get my education at the same time. And to comment on something...
  14. Nope, not diabetic (yet). But everything else is more than enough already. I give this guy credit for trying to find what's wrong and believing it could be Crohn's, but just hate the non-stop testing ~ Lisa ~
  15. Not sure if any of u remember but in February I had a endoscopy, and by some chance I got no call or letter to come back so went to my family doc. My family doc said nothing showed in results. Here's the crazy thing... Last month I got a letter from the specialist saying I didn't show up to my May 14th appointment, so I had my follow up on Thurs. ...
  16. Kelsey's on the east side of the country must completely be different. I only eat one meal in that place, the only one I was told was gaurantee safe...the Balsamic Chicken. It's been years since I seen the actual menu from there (the first time I went in with a friend and asked a guy came out from the kitchen with the whole binder). He explained everything...
  17. Hey I'm not sure if I'll be back there before the end of the month, I will be on the 31st but don't believe any sooner . I can tell you that I go to Saskatoon a lot! Or at least I used to anyways haha. Yeah I figured there'd be nothing right at U of R. Im gonna be living in those apartments right across the road (on Centennial) so it's in walking distance...
  18. Then I guess I've screwed up with every guy . I dont go into detail as in telling them what will happen if I eat gluten, that would be enough to freak anyone out . I just explain what I have, the Celiac and asthma. (I guess it's a fear of mine seeing how I had a situation with one creepy guy who didn't bother caring if I had anything to eat or what he...
  19. I've always had the dark circles. It's likely because when I got Celiac I also developed a whole other pile of allergies I never had before. gluten, lactose, pollens, molds, etc...and i've always been allergic to dust, smoke, and flowers. So as hard as I try to avoid something, I know gluten isnt the cause of my dark circles because I'm always exposed to...
  20. Hey fellow girls. I know I'm not a teen anymore, but I was when I got Celiac and I'm still struggling w/this. Not w/the disease/diet itself, but w/guys. Theres been a few guys who seem to show interest in me and would love to meet me in person, but who'd be afraid to date me (especially if it comes to brushing their teeth!!). How do you actually meet...
  21. Hey guys, I'm gonna be living in Regina for uni as of Sept. 1st. Just curious if any of you guys from there or the area would wanna meet in person??? We can even go catch a meal or something (since theres clearly lots of places to eat!). thought i'd just give you guys a warning ahead of time and throw the idea out there ~ Lisa ~
  22. So you're confused as heck too nikki I see? . You do realize this dudes post really has nothing to do with what I'm asking on advice for? ~ Lisa ~
  23. Wow thats way to scientific for me to understand! Can you say that in plainer english please? ...and it doesnt really help me because I'm definitely not from the US.. ~ Lisa ~
  24. They may check you for bacterial infections (at least I know thats what they did to me anyways)... I hope you can get an answer and feel better soon!! I'm still bleeding in my stools more and more often but have no solution (you all remember why...) ~ Lisa ~
  25. It's a long story, alex....let's I had 3 biopsies done that were supposed to be for Crohn's but instead they tested only Celiac cuz they thought I was making that up, too. So I have no way of officially proving I have it (even tho I have the key symptoms including bleeding, and the diet helps). and Generic..thank you. It sure has been a battle. I guess...
