  1. When I order food from Kinnikinnick it takes 3 or 4 days to get here. It has never gotten bad, except for the one time they shipped it to the wrong location first, so they sent me a new batch for the trouble for nothing. The rule there is that they bake according to your order, and the day before they ship it out. Whatever is baked I make sure gets thrown...
  2. Well it's just bothering me because in these 2 years of fighting with doctors (specialists not included) I've only been called back once, and that was for thyroid, so i have NEVER been told to come back to a general doc for stomach-related problems. It's scary, if I was always told to come back then it wouldnt be.... ~ Lisa ~
  3. I just got a phone call...from one of the receptions at the walk-in clinic that I went to about all these problems here. The guy I seen wants me to come back basically ASAP...tomorrow, monday, or tuesday...Now i feel worried ~ Lisa ~
  4. It really could be possible that you have something else besides Celiac. If you want the story of what I've been going through with the mystery pains just go through some of my old posts. I think that'll give you a good idea. Maybe it is just as simple as a hidden food allergy, and I agree with everyone here that elimination will likely help you discover...
  5. I would accept and then give it away to other family or something...even if it's not food but threatening to Celiac somehow. Last year for our secret santa thing in the family I ended up with the beer caddy for chickens. Obviously gluten-free beer does not come in cans. So I traded with my parents--took the toaster oven from my mom, and gave her the beer...
  6. Are you serious???? Only $8.00 for a six pack??? ~ Lisa ~
  7. It's not bad at all if you do this. I do too, ESPECIALLY pizza. OMG if I see a bunch of people around me eating it, I go completely mental. And pyrogies...sure I have a gluten-free recipe for them but they have always been my favourite food. I grew up on them and would probably eat them every single day if I could. I also get upset when the little kids, like...
  8. Oh i know how you feel about the inhaler being empty. I've been without it since last wednesday and possibly can get one tomorrow, otherwise will have to survive until Saturday morning without it! My immune system got shot as soon as I got Celiac. I went from having one, to a non-existant one as you say. And forget about a flu shot. Got one of those...
  9. My bet is on the dishes. I discovered it awhile ago. I have DH also and I used to notice that my hands were always burning and would break out in a rash. Once I started wearing rubber gloves though (gloves as in the industrial strength ones) the problem stopped. SO i know for sure that gluten in the water you're washing could affect you. The only time I will...
  10. Yes, I definitely get this. It seems like if I'm feeling sick from something it's much worse too. I especially have problems this time of the year when it's winter so the sun doesn't rise til about 9 am. Then i get up and even turning my light on low basically gives me a headache and it's all fuzzy. This morning though I woke up at 7 am, and i dont know...
  11. My guess is yet another American one, yes?? ....though I think if we had more than La Messagere here in Canada I'd still stick with it. I've gotten used to the $18.95 a pack and to memorizing the costs if I buy all 4 packs at once ~ Lisa ~
  12. Yes, Vans waffles. Blueberry ones are quite yummy! I also like apple cinnamon waffles, too. And if you have some of those toastabags they even work in that too. ~ Lisa ~
  13. Is this Wendy's in the US, or Canada??...Wendy's here in Canada now has the ingredient lists up on the wall before you go to the tills, with the different columns and all, so its easier to remember what is/isn't safe... ~ Lisa ~
  14. Kinnikinnick ones...small, pricy, but soooo good. ~ Lisa ~
  15. i'm not even sure what the bloodwork did, or what anything showed. They wouldnt explain anything to me. And if I understood anything about medical records I would have just read it myself. It wasn't this guy who told me to wait for the stool sample, he wanted it done as soon as possible. It was one of the previous times at home that I was told to wait until...
  16. I've had to given the same stool sample 2 other times in the last year. He wants to be sure its not a bacterial infection. And I was told that I had to wait until my period was over. ~ Lisa ~
  17. I'm not quite sure of his name I remember his last name, but I don't know the address or whatever. I'll hopefully be going back soon...I'm still so cranky from this, more than you can probably imagine. Today again I broke out in tears just from not being able to handle pains jabbing me in two places... ~ Lisa ~
  18. Welcome to the board. Like Deb said, a lot of us never got a official diagnosis so we self-diagnose ourselves. My case was Guhlia, where i dropped weight like mad (I lost 44 lbs in 6 weeks, 20 in the first 16 days!). He told me don't wait for a diagnosis and start on the diet now..so after a year on the diet they came back negative. I was told by a former...
  19. Oh gees. Now i have my time of the month AGAIN even tho it just finished about 2 weeks ago. So now the stool sample will have to wait til its over, meaning so will my visit with the doctor have to wait ~ Lisa ~
  20. Yeah once I get my stool sample I'll ask to see that same guy at the walk-in. I realized an easier way to file my complaint -- get that phone # for the Regina health region. Would be better than filing the complaint locally.. The doc in the walk-in is the one who said I was supposed to be on IV and get an ultra-sound so I hope there's a way I can get...
  21. Yeah I'll tell him when I go take back a stool sample. He wanted me to have an ultrasound...and I was supposed to be put on IV too. It's what he told that guy I was supposed to see.. ~ Lisa ~
  22. Here's the details: 1:30pm got to walk-in clinic. Only had to wait 30 mins to get in to see a doc. He felt my stomach and when he pressed on the side around gallbladder I said "that really hurts". He said I definitely am tender on the gallbladder. He then sent me to the lab which is in the same building for bloodwork and to give a urine sample. He...
  23. Finally home, got out of hospital 2:30 am....to exhausted, gonna have some tea and food then sleep. I'll post details tomorrow. All i'll say for now is the only relief I got is some tylenol and am still clueless to what the problem is. *cries* ~ Lisa ~
  24. OK guys, i'm definitely NOT feeling any better, in fact worse here, so I'm going to the office now in a few minutes.....this could be an interesting day. Send me lots of luck.... ~ Lisa ~
  25. I haven't eaten anything out of the ordinary, that's for sure. My diet mainly consists of breads and pastas. Not a lot of anything else. And there's no way it could be anything holiday related and eating too much of it because my thanksgiving was almost 2 months ago!! I haven't tried no natural stuff because this just started happening. We will see what...
