  1. Might have to pick this issue up...I try collecting as many articles as possible. ~ Lisa ~
  2. Yeah I know what you mean about hating wearing light jeans. It's too unpredictable about how light or heavy it will be so I just play it safe. It gets really annoying sometimes . ~ Lisa ~
  3. I usually don't drink non-normal tea anyways so when I look on the box for gluten-free that's the only time I buy it. I got it off one of those 40+ pages of gluten-free things in Canada. ~ Lisa ~
  4. All the ones I've bought from Celestial Seasonings is gluten-free. In fact...I just looked in my booklet and I wrote down these are safe: Almost sunset Gingerbread Spice Ginseng Energy Canadian Vanilla Maple Decaf English Toffee Echinacea Sugar Plum Spice Vanilla Hazelnut Detox A.M. Roastaroma But I can't remember where I found that list.....
  5. Very interesting. I have always used Stayfree because they are the only ones now who sell ones without wings. Like some of you here I have DH and my period is so irregular that I have to always wear one on a daily basis basically. (for example: ranges anywhere from 2 - 13 days, and from 8 days to 2 1/2 months between cycles). Can't get much more irregular...
  6. These are the only guys who make gluten-free oat flour and baking mixes: Open Original Shared Link ~ Lisa ~
  7. Tinkyada is the only rice pasta I eat...I just boil them and keep sampling, but usually those suggestions on the packages are pretty close. And rinse them in cold water like someone has already said. I eat them so often I don't follow any directly at all. ~ Lisa ~
  8. Oh and if talking to a doctor doing work find a dietician. I seen one a few times. unfortunately she wasn't able to help me figure out a plan that would help me because not only does gluten and lactose bother me, so does most vegetables. hopefully you would be more lucky. ~ Lisa ~
  9. Sometimes you can't gain weight...I have managed that only because of my body trying to adjust to synthroid, or when I used to overeat to gain weight, but I've slowly been shrinking again. And as I get glutened I lose over a pound a day (when I was glutened a few weeks ago from grain dust in air I was sick for 5 days and I lost a waist size!!!) I am still...

    ARCHIVED Celiac Dr In Calgary?

The specialist I saw in Calgary was Dr. Love at the research hospital. I'm sure if my ffamily doctor hadn't told Dr. Love to change his mind on what he was supposed to test for he would have actually solved my problem. Check him out. ~ Lisa ~
  12. I created this recipe myself, it works like a charm! Hopefully you can all find the right ingredients though... 6 cups Sliced/peeled apples 1 cup Only Oats Muffin Mix 3/4 cup Brown sugar 1/2 cup Margarine ~ Arrange apples in a greased 8" cake pan ~ Combine muffin mix and sugar ~ Add buter until it looks like course bread crumbs...
  13. It is very tough at times, especially in the first little while. January will be 5 year that i've had Celiac and I still get the moments where I feel like I'm going to snap. Maybe try this with your daughter, it's something I did that helped knowing what to eat: I bought one of those Fat Little Notebooks. Found all the information possible on the internet...
  14. I sure have gotten a lot more nightmares since having Celiac. And i can afree with everyone here that if I get glutened they get worse. But unfortunately I tend to get them in a regular basis even when NOT glutened...some of them are so "real" i wake up by sitting up and nearly having a panic attack. ~ Lisa ~
  15. Well I know that theres a difference between universities in US vs. those is Canada, but I'm in my first year at a university, after 2 years of being spoiled in college...If you have any frozen meals like mac and cheese, see if you can find a microwave and just take the food with you. Or if you live close by make your schedule so that you can have time to...
  16. I wouldn't rust any tests on Celiac. You're lucky to have a doctor who believes you that if nothing shows up on the tests you still have it. I got sent on the diet before I was able to get tested even otherwise it likely would have killed me from dropping the lbs so fast. If you feel better on the diet and are super sensative too, don't change your mind....
  17. OK so I was gone for the weekend, I come back this morning to find my dishes in a PLASTIC BAG sitting in the hallway and hers washed! And not only that--a note on the fridge saying that she does everything, all the housework, and I do nothing to help out. (Which as we know....completely opposite of the truth). So I sent her some text messages saying...
  18. Yup, administrative is too. The only thing I got approved for in any class was some extra time to write exams (like if I have to go to the washroom) or excusable if I am sick/in the hospital and miss handing in assignments, and medical appointments don't go as a missed day, and in Sociology i'm on the honour program that I get to take the exams with me and...
  19. I have a recipe that will work. I just need to find it...I kind of created it myself. ~ Lisa ~
  20. I am registered with the disability office, but as far as I know I'm the only one with Celiac there because anyone I asked about or mentioned it to has never heard of it. I guess I didn't explain...that building is basically halfway in between the building I walk in, and the one where my classrooms are. Now that it is winter, I am not wanting to walk outside...
  21. Only Oats Muffin Mix. I used it for apple crisp...AMAZING. ~ Lisa ~
  22. I think I'll just leave her a note or send her a text and be like...I can't take out the trash anymore and am going to use my own and can't waipe the counters either. And I live in Saskatchewan, hard to get away from the farming, even in the city. OK what an evil gluten week. As of today in the university the building that I CANT AVOID walking through...
  23. Yeah, I would bring my own. When we went on holidays for 4 days this summer it's what I did. Some of my family IS understanding but I learned not to trust them. I always bring myself some back up, at the least bread, and at that point then we went grocery shopping and I bought a few thigns I could have (like sandwich meats, etc). It's much better than going...
  24. Yeah I'm just going to leave it there, and put all my utensils/plates/etc on the stove to make sandwiches or whatever. I'll also get my own microwave going, and toaster oven and move most of my kitchen stuff into a different cupboard. I am sensitive enough that if it's airborne (like if someone is baking) or if I touch it I react. I've gotten sick just...
