num1habsfan replied to luckygfme's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I use Cliniderm shampoo, conditioner, and hand cream ... my shiny hair in my display pic shows just how good it is Open Original Shared Link ~ Lisa ~ -
I'm pretty sure its just the weather, because it doesnt act up unless its storming, weather is changing, or i strain the parts of my body i've previously injured. I'm just wondering why its gotten so much more severe. I still have my ankle with a tensor wrap around it, and if i had another one handy i'd be wrapping my wrist, too. gotta re-wrap ankle before...

I've almost eliminated everything. I follow the rule that celiac.ca tought me...with very sensitive lactose intollerance you are allowed 1/2 a cup a day, with meals. That rule usually does work. But I stick with lactose-free butter, Lactaid milk, and the most I use is occasionally i bit of sour cream in borscht, or cheese (I will only eat Old, since it has...

Maybe it is RA? I had in an arthritis magazine that like 30% of people with RA in a study had Celiac. But theres gotta be something thats making it so much worse than it usually is..and its driving me crazy, because nobody ever believes a 22 year old could have it... ~ lisa ~

I know I've complained about my arthritis before, but have any of you noticed it getting worse/more sensative the more you go gluten-free?? Now its not just one area that catches me when it snows (or in today's case, rains), it gets me all over, to the point where I almost want to wrap everything up. My ankle is so bad I can barely walk, and actually put...

Wow I new there was in increased risk, but I never knew just what. That might explain things in my family (as cancer is the main killer, and nobody has Celiac). Kinda creepy at the same time, tho.... ~ lisa ~

ARCHIVED Deer Pictures!
num1habsfan replied to num1habsfan's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Thanks!! Haha yes they love their bales...by our farm, i was gonna take a pic but they were too far off...since there's so much snow and they're getting desperate to eat, at one of the farms by ours they're standing on top of the bale piles and eating them that way instead of trying to scrape off whatever they find around the ground. Its kinda funny looking... -
ARCHIVED Deer Pictures!
num1habsfan replied to num1habsfan's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Yes, they'd be very yummy, but once hunting season rolls along you wont find them alone, nevermind in bunches. Its almost getting to spring, so they are starting to lighten up, but they're still always easy to notice against the snow because brown against a ton of white is easy to pick out. Some of those are too cute and scrawny, gotta let them grow ... -
ARCHIVED I Must Be Out Of My Mind
num1habsfan replied to Rusla's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
For me it'd be the opposite..I couldnt make the switch from these prairies into a place like Alberta/BC because of the air. These last 2 times I was in Calgary i was sick from my asthma going nuts. And I'd die without all the open space/no people But yes, I wouldnt mind at least one of these years going out for a holiday to BC. Whats kinda ironic... -
ARCHIVED Deer Pictures!
num1habsfan replied to num1habsfan's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Nope, thats 2 1/2 hours southeast of Regina lol. The real prairies I tell ya ..and thanks! ~ Lisa ~ -
Hey guys, I feel like sharing some pics I took yesterday. They arent the greatest quality, definitely could be better, but they were still fun taking and I'm sure a lot of you don't get to the chance to see a zillion white-tailed deer wherever you go...Comments please! ~ Lisa ~ http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v481/num...yofIMG_3788.webp http...

ARCHIVED Calgarians...i Am Jealous!
num1habsfan replied to Daxin's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Ryan, I agree. If it wasnt for Randi I wouldnt have known some gluten-free products even existed (some stuff thats made in Calgary). Even things its hard to find available to buy in Saskatchewan was stocked up in Calgary. Ryan, go to Safeway in Regina...you will find a lot of gluten-free stuff there! I talk to a girl who lives in BC now, she eats gluten... -
ARCHIVED What About Breathing Flour In?
num1habsfan replied to sknisley22's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Yes, I have gotten sick from either someone in the family baking or going into a grocery store that was in the process of baking something (like dusting the tables or whatever). And I get sick during harvest season from breathing the dust in the air outside. ~ Lisa ~ -
Yup, there sure is a web-site!! www.elpeto.com I'm not quite sure if they ship to the U.S. or not?? But check it out They are who I buy all my Tinkyada noodles from, in bulk! ~ lisa ~
-
I made the cake, put it into 2 pans so I got 2 cakes out of it lol. El-Peto (if i'm spelling that right?) makes the best marble cake mix. And I melted some lactose free/gluten free chocolate chips with butter on the stove and poured that over the cakes. They are YUM ~ lisa ~

ARCHIVED More Gluten Sensative Since Going Gluten Free?
num1habsfan replied to Joanne11's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Yup you guys have all seen my posts, i now nearly have panic attacks from being as sensative as I am. When i was first trying to adapt to the diet, even accidently eating something i didnt know I couldnt barely affected me. Now that I'm strict diet, VERY strict, 1 crumb cant touch my food, or my silverware/plates, or i cant breathe it in the air (even in... -
ARCHIVED Poll:cut Or Wear Your Hair How You Want?
num1habsfan replied to LoveBeingATwin's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I wouldnt change my hair for a guy. i dont change my hair for any girlfriends who suggest I need to do something to it thats not plain and boring. I have always kept it shoulder length, really when its not thick/curly its much longer than the shoulders, and since I do have natural curls (yes, I know if pics you've seen its only been more wavy, but when its... -
Yes, exactly! Now my craving for pizza is gone, but I still want to drink more Coke, and still want that cake so desperately. I'm DEFINITELY baking as soon as I get home tonight!! Maybe I'll take a picture to show you all how it turns out ~ lisa ~
-
I tried a few of them, the only 1 I buy now is kinnikinnick breads, its very pricy as everyone says. I dunno what it will cost in American for them, but I know Canadian price is $4.99 minimum a loaf. But its so worth it ~ lisa ~

I have the weirdest cravings today, just completely RANDOMLY too! I didnt even see anyone eatin/drinkin them. But I suddenly wanted pop(specifically Coke), pizza, and marble cake w/chocolate icin. I took care of the first 2, and when i get home tomorrow I'll make sure I take my cake mix and some chocolate chips with me and make the cake lol. Dont...
