  1. Dental Enamel Hypoplasia...look it up. In one of the pamphlets included in my Celiac New Members kit from years ago, it was listed as one of the possible related disorders/affects from delayed diagnosis. ~ Lisa ~
  2. Thank you... So she got released from the hospital, because they said the baby just shifted, BUT she came to my baba's place tonight to at least say happy birthday to her and she said she's still having contractions! So basically I'm told keep the phone handy, because she said she doesn't expect to stay at home very long! If she does have her baby...
  3. Oooo my Auntie had some contractions earlier today, only 3 minutes apart, but my uncle rushed her to the hospital in Yorkton and they stopped. So they said she's sleeping...and that's the latest update we have. Maybe it really was stress induced contractions ... ~ Lisa ~
  4. Thank you everyone for your support. I love you all... *hugs you all back* I have the worst headache in the world, and slept about 2 hours (if i'm lucky). And if I cant calm down I know my flareup is going to get worse instead of getting better, so I'm tryin to think of things to help me relax. I will keep you updated on how things go... ~ Lisa...
  5. Things seem to have the worst timing for me, when I'm due for the good news I instead get the bad. Mom called be tonight (or i guess last night) to say my auntie's dad passed away from a sudden heart attack late last night/early morning . I guess his wife called 911, and they didn't respond, and both ambulances were busy with something (is what my mom...
  6. It's ok, I'm just glad someone DID reply! Because I always get pretty upset when I get these flareups since I feel so out of control. I'm still "on fire", no doubt about that. Throw some arthritis into the mix and I didn't fall asleep until 5 am last night (or i guess...this morning?). Hopefully I won't have to go to the bathroom until I'm back at the...
  7. I'm not sure, manda...it may have been part of it. I also did eat a bit of meat before then :/ By the way, I went to the doctor yesterday afternoon. The nurse who was there said "I haven't seen you in awhile", and I said "Yeah, kinda surprising isn't it?" she answered "Yes it is". How's that for a clue that I've been in the hospital too much?? It...
  8. I think my IBD diet is the reason why I haven't had one of these flareups in 3 months, but i think its all 3 months combined. You all know I can normally tough this stuff out, but I've been in tears all day long. I can't sleep, I cant even sit in the same spot for too long without breaking into tears. I'm about to leave for my 3 hour class, so I'm going...
  9. OK I tried linking everyone to MySpace to see the pictures of my apartment but it doesnt let it work, so I'm going to have to put them all facebook... Added: Open Original Shared Link ~ Lisa ~
  10. Very interesting. I've had issues with the vision too from time to time. Sometimes it's like I can't even see, its just a blur nearsighted and farsighted. Other times my vision is terrific... ptkds, does anyone else in your family has eye issues? that sounds EXACTLY like my dad's case. He pretty much can't see out of his right eye, and has had every kind...
  11. Thanks . I've been able to get a good nights rest, too. All I got left yet really is setting up my computer desk and find a place for my books and stuff, I may just put them in the pantry since I have a lot of room in there until I get another shelf of some sort. I have such a pile of dishes it's not even funny lol So i will do those up before I photograph...
  12. I'll be taking some pics for you guys tomorrow (or I guess, today ) ..got enough unpacked that u can actually understand the layout of this place. I can tell you one thing: reading my school work is a heck of a lot easier. It's beyond highlighting and not taking in what's on the page, I am able to remember WHAT I am reading while highlighting. If that...
  13. Some people with Celiac just do lose without trying to..I'm one of those, even being strictly gluten-free. I have gained weight thanks to thyroid problems (which the idiot doctors still aren't properly treating) but have always had to rely on high fats to maintain or gain. Thanks to gallbladder problems I've had to cut those out and what do you know, I've...
  14. It works for me!!! I have my own recipe for soup, i dont even know what you'd call it haha. Something I created off the top of my head. And throwing the noodles in there has held it together good. Tinkyada is the only pasta I buy, so I could be biased ~ Lisa ~
  15. I don't have the patience to bake myself (or the time!!) so I stick with buying the Kinnikinnick ones My favourite are the New York Style ones. They even survive if you toast them..and sometimes I sorta treat myself to a non-lactose-free day and put some philadelphia cream cheese ~ Lisa ~
  16. That sounds soooo good!!! The closest I game to garlic bread (without trying lol) is spreading some garlic that was crushed in a food processor and fried in butter and spreading that over a piece of Kinnikinnick's white bread (that's the only gluten-free bread I eat). It was quite good, could taste more garlic than anything...though I think next time if I...
  17. Hey guys. No I didn't have the time to bake just yet. BUT I did unpack most of my food.. IN THE CUPBOARDS! . Soooo nice putting out my flours and baking mixes and stuff like that!!! I still have to make room in the livingroom for the computer/tv guys and unpack more of my hockey stuff and whatever goes into my basically empty bedroom haha. Once I get...
  18. Welcome new people . This is definitely the place to make some great friends off the forum and learn a LOT of imformation!! We're always here to help! If you have any instant messengers and want to actually chat (since you know, its quicker than replying on the board hehe) I'm always up for that, you can find all of mine in my profile and add me. I...
  19. Thanks! My main task for today will be putting my food in the shelves. I will be the happiest girl on earth haha. I'm going to stick all my baking stuff in the cupboards in the kitchen, and see how much room I have for everything else. I might even celebrate by baking something tonight . So much easier to find food in a cupboard then in a giant tote!!! ...
  20. I'm in, not settled or unpacked but got everything here... I have only crap internet (whatever wireless I can pick up) until monday night. I sitll have to collect money from the roommate. She still has to go in and sign off my tv/cable account. I think tonight I'll be leaving the lights on the next couple nights so that I get used to the surroundings,...
  21. Man, by the time i'm done packing its gonna be time to wake up, basically!! I have nobody to help . My friend in the city is busy holding a party, the 3 cousins in the city im sure out packing, and no other friends offered to make a trip here to help out . the one that did, from 4 hrs away, has a charity event she's hosting tomorrow. and my guy has been MIA...
  22. Good to know. Once i'm in my own place tomorrow maybe i will have the room to actually use my slow cooker ~ Lisa ~
  23. Only Oats is a Saskatchewan product (YAY!! ), so I can find many variations of everything. In fact right now I'm eating muffins I made with their muffin mix. As far as I know you can order off their website to either Canada or US. Lots of people are scared of eating gluten-free oats, but I only tried it because someone else on this forum is just as...
  24. One more day til I can call my least favourite person my EX-roommate...ahhh But I'm not breathing any relief just yet, I have only today to pack my entire apartment into boxes and have everything ready for tomorrow morning, still trying to settle the bills, and I got told just last night that some dude is moving in Sunday morning. Not only that, she says...
  25. Not to sound cocky just because I live here, but Canada... Open Original Shared Link Nothing can be important if it isn't gluten-free, and here's what the government will do if someone gets sick from apparently gluten-free food: Open Original Shared Link ~ Lisa ~
