ARCHIVED Hello
txplowgirl replied to TEaglefeather's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Hi Terry, Earlier in my other post I meant to say that oats have a problem with cross contamination. Meaning that a lot of companies process their oats in a wheat facility resulting in them being contaminated. Also, your husband may be getting cross contaminated in your kitchen. If you are planning to keep eating gluten breads and he eats gluten free breads... -
ARCHIVED Could This Be Celiac Disease ?
txplowgirl replied to Bmartin's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi there, I can't say for certain because i'm not a dr. But it sounds like it to me. If you will read up on the symptoms, you will definitley see. Now, you have a choice to make. Do you try to go gluten free first or try to get a diagnosis? That is the hard part because a lot of dr's do not believe Celiac exists and also sometimes the tests will come... -

txplowgirl replied to TEaglefeather's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Teaglefeather, I am sorry you and your husband have so many problems. Coming to this site will be a great help to you. Everyone here will help if you ask. First of all, anything, I mean anything that is made with wheat, barley, oats, and rye is a no no. The white bread also has wheat in it. The dr is wrong on that. And yes, dr's can be wrong. There... -

Extreme sensitivity to sunlight and heat intolerance. I had a cousin who started out with these symptoms. Have you been checked for Lupus? That is an autoimmune disease that runs along with Celiac and Thyroid problems. -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free For A Month With Extreme Anxiety
txplowgirl replied to George206's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi George, I am glad you found out about the b-12. Soy affects me like gluten, so i would definitly cut is out for a while. Also try keeping a food journal and put down everything you eat and drink for a few days. I have found that helps a lot. You do know about cross contamination right? Has your whole household gone gluten free? If not, then you need... -

Another update. I have to say the smoked turkey is what did it. I have been ok for the last few days and I decided to try the smoked turkey again so I would know for sure. I got the migraine within 2 hours. Got the blahs again. Nothing major just feeling kinda tired and lethargic. Very strange because the ham dosen't bother me. So, no more smoked turkey... -
ARCHIVED What Easy To Digest Foods Should My Wife Eat?
txplowgirl replied to Rudi's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
First of all, sometimes, the tests will be negative. Even though she has tested negative on the blood test, I am also about positive the biopsy will come back negative as well. That does not mean that she dosen't have a problem with gluten. She may be gluten sensitive. Since she has had her blood tests and biopsy. I would suggest she go gluten free immediately... -

No matter how careful I am I always seem to come down with asthmatic bronchitis every winter. Every single time I have had the flu shot I have wound up with the flu. Have been hospitalized a couple of times because of it. Last 3 years I haven't had the flu shot, havn't gotten the flu. So, no more flu shots for me. I understand now that my immune system... -

txplowgirl replied to Bethinjapan's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I just had to respond. I am 45 and I have a son who will be 26 yrs old the 13th of this month. I have been sick since I was 7 or 8 years old. Anyway, I first became pg at 18, was so sick I could barely move. Projectile vomiting, almost constant D, there were times my nose would start bleeding and I couldn't stop it for about an hour. From 3rd week until... -

I can understand all that definetly. But, it seems to me you have done the test. You felt better, your family says you were a diferent person. A lot of us including me, have lost our depression and anxiety issues as well as pain. I went from a snarly witch bit** as my sweetie called me to a halfway normal person. To me, just my opinion mind you, that... -

txplowgirl replied to txplowgirl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Just an update, really strange. I don't think I was glutened unless that natural ingredient has something in it I can't find out about. I get the feeling this might have been a "left over" symptom that hit from yesterday's gluten episode. Ughhh. or another 1 of my sensitivities from the sugar. That was the smoked turkey I had, this evening I got the nerve... -

Hi There, first off i'm not vegan so I can't help you with that one. As for the back pain, I have had almost every symptom you have also. The back pain was right between my shoulder blades though. I am what I consider to be an undiagnosed celiac. I have been ssooooo sick since I was 7 or 8 years old. I am 45 now. I was dx'd with fibromyalgia last year and my dr told me that a lot of fibro patients have food allergies. In my research I have found that I am gluten intolerant. I could care less if I have a peice of paper confirming celiac. I have been... -
