  1. Yes I got the continuous color lipstick today when I found out that I could so I know those are gluten-free. She said that most of them are but the ones that are flavored or scented may have traces.
  2. If you had a positive blood test don't rule out celiac just yet. If there is not alot of damage to your intestine the biopsy will not pick it up. What exactly were you tested for in your blood tests?
  3. The skin condition is DH. When a person has this they do have an intolerance to gluten. Celiac can be in your body your whole life but be triggered my things such as mono(like I had) and stressful events, surgeries, etc. If you do in fact have Celiac it is possible you just haven't noticed it. Many celiacs go without symptoms so one may think they are...
  4. I talked with Cover Girl about their lipsticks today. They said they do not directly put gluten containing products into them and that I could have the normal lipsticks that were not scented and flavored. They said however that lipsticks with fragrances may contain traces of gluten.

    ARCHIVED Foods You Miss

Yea...tell me when you get one here in MD I would love a gluten-free place to eat out. There are also some really good gluten-free English Muffins I found at a place called "Common Market" I am sure they sell them elsewhere to. There were cinnamon English Muffins as well. When I toasted them they tasted so good. I think its the best bread I have tried...
  6. Corn starch is derived from corn.... celiacs can have corn starch unless they are tested and have a problem with corn as well. Betty Crocker is a brand that will not hide any wheat and gluten. Unless it says it contains wheat, rye, barley, and oats it will be free of that. Hope this helps
  7. Yes you definately should avoid gluten. For your test to come back elevated on gluten sensitivity there is definately something going on. plantime-I like the verse with your signature
  8. I'm ordering some tomorrow Thanks for posting about it
  9. Dizzy-That's what they are called Probiotics and Enzymes. Probiotic bacteria favorably alter the intestinal microflora balance, inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria, promote good digestion, boost immune function, and increase resistance to infection.Probiotic bacteria also produce substances called bacteriocins, which act as natural antibiotics to...
  10. Whimsygirl-Celiac is not an allergy it's an intolerance. If you have it , it has been with you for a while but you may have not realized it. Stressful events or things such as mono etc. can trigger the Celiac . When I was growing up and could eat anything. When I had mono, a few months later I was diagnosed with Celiac. My blood tests came back mixed. I...
  11. I'm an O+ too
  12. Yeah I agree if there was blood there is still a pretty good chance you have celiac disease. Biopsies are good but if you don't have much damage to the intestine yet it can miss it. Good luck
  13. I would get the test done to see if you have it for sure. If you have it you then know you absolutely can't have certain things. If you don't have it then you may still want to stay away from it if they make you feel bad.. but if you have something then it doesn't matter as much as it would with Celiac. The big thing is you don't want something literally...
  14. I totally agree with tarnalberry. Alot of celiacs don't even have symptoms and celiac is very underdiagnosed. It is damaging your intestine the way to avoid that damage and restore it is through a gluten-free diet. ANY gluten will damage you. I had no symptoms growing up and could eat anything with no problem until I had mono one year. When I finally was...

  16. Enzymatic Therapy brands have all sorts of supplements and vitamins. That brand always has on their bottles what they are free of. Most of them are gluten-free. This is the brand I use. I am sure that there are alot of other good brands that are gluten-free as well I don't have much faith in what doctors say right now. They tried telling me all sorts...
  17. Deb and Stacie..I am exactly the same way as well. I don't eat very much before I am going places. People don't understand why I do this and may think I am not taking care of myself. You know some people don't really understand alot about celiac and different effects on nerves and other things it can cause. For me mornings are also a tell tale on how...
  18. Probiotic bacteria favorably alter the intestinal microflora balance, inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria, promote good digestion, boost immune function, and increase resistance to infection. Probiotic bacteria also produce substances called bacteriocins, which act as natural antibiotics to kill undesirable microorganisms. Enzymes help especially...
  19. I agree with exactly what was said in the previous 2 posts...get tested and if you have tested positive ..you are celiac. A lot of people go without having symptoms meanwhile their small intestine is being totally destroyed.

    ARCHIVED Anxiety

I still have anxiety as well. It's alot better then before but it's still there. Once you try things a few times with success you will trust your body more. I went to therapy and they told me it was a fear of what might happen since so many times I have went to do things and started not feeling well and I was just expecting something like that to happen....
  21. For me I feel really bad when I even have the slightest mistake. For me the more I have been of of gluten I have become more sensitive to it. I can tell almost instantly and usually the 7th day after is the worst. Again if you are having nausea problems you might want to try ginger types of mint teas. I have Celestial Seasonings Tummy Mint and Original...
  22. I have no known side effects of enzymes. They really do wonders for me. They help your body break down and digest the food and then absorb the food. They really help cut back on nausea and stomach and gut problems. Hope this helps
  23. Try taking enzymes when you eat....ginger tea and peppermints are good. Probiotics are good as well. I hope all goes well and hope you can feel good again soon good luck!
  24. Have you noticed a pattern when you feel nausea? Like is it after you eat or anything? I get tired as well as nausea. Ginger, certain teas, enzymes, probiotics...these are some suggestions of things to try to help with nausea. It takes a long time in some cases to get the gluten out of your system. Some people have symptoms long after they are diagnosed...
  25. Amy's has microwavable gluten-free Mac and cheese and gluten-free Vegatable Lasagna for quick meals. Amy's also has gluten-free pizza that is actually good. Amys also has soups that are gluten-free. Also Thai kitchen brands of soup are good. There are also brands of chips, candy bars, lunch meats etc that are good for on the go. There is alot we can have...
