  1. Did it say how sensitive you are to these things? I know I am sensitive to dairy if I have alot of it but I can have some in moderation. Also I would value what these tests have to say...I for one did not have one done yet but plan to sometime in the near future. Fruits and veggies are good though
  2. I've never had a reaction to Tylenol or Advil. They are on my gluten-free list too but I guess some people just have different reactions to different things.
  3. wow that is a long time! very impressive...congrats
  4. I was also very active with sports. I played in tournaments 5-6 games a weekend, had alot of endurance and never got tired. I got mono first which I was tested for it 3 times before it was positive. Then I was diagnosed with celiac after that. Liquid vitamins get into your bloodstream quicker so that may be why your body is liking them more. Also Sublingual...
  5. FaithInScienceToo-That is awesome you had a good time with your niece. I bet it was fun to just spend some time with her and your family I talk to a few people from this board online. I like talking to people and building relationships. If anyone wants to IM me or email me they can
  6. Yes Hershey's will mark their labels is what I have been told over and over. I love Russell Stover candy we got some yesterday and I devoured almost the whole box
  7. FaithInScienceToo-Yes I can see how you made your decision. Your reasons make sense and if you want to go for it. They need to be alerted somehow on what not to give you. How was the day with your 4 year old niece? Little kids are so cute Talk to you all later
  8. All of the Bare Escentuals makeup is gluten free. Toothpaste I use Crest. Shampoos, conditioners, hairspray soaps..I use Dove..all of their products will not hide anything. Moisturizers I use Neutrogena...they emailed me a huge list of their gluten-free products. Kraft as Stef said will not hide anything. Unless their products say wheat, rye, barley, or...
  9. Open Original Shared Link This is a link to this sites gluten free medications. Hope this helps
  10. Thanks for posting That is a big disappointment I will definately call them
  11. He sounds like a very good doctor like one that actually deserves his paycheck I drive an hour to see my reg. doc and my GI doctor...but it is well worth the drive to have a good doctor. I had mono that triggered it but my old doc for a year kept telling me the mono takes a long time to get over(she didn'e know what was going on thats why she just made...
  12. Going gluten free will reverse the damage done to your intestine. For some people the damage heals quicker. Depends on the amount of damage. As far as infertility I have heard that is if you don't follow the diet but I'm not sure if that is true. I haven't done to much research on that side of celiac yet. I'm only 17 still and I don't have to worry about...
  13. celiac3270-man missing it by 2 months next election I would scream I had a cow missing this one. I still went to the polls and spent all day handing out stuff and had my car advertising too Yeah there is not much I could teach my doctor and GI doctor they both know about celiac very much and are awesome. I had to switch doctors a few times to find...
  14. Yes I agree celiac3270 it would be a small price to pay if your laying there unconcious. I think my parents would be there to make sure they put nothing into me that contained gluten. I also carry a card in my wallet that says I am a celiac. I would hope they would not put anything into me that contains gluten. If they did thats a big liability factor...
  15. celiac3270-thanks for that restaurant card link. I am printing them out now
  16. FaithInScienceToo-Actually I didn't vote for him. I would have if I could have but I am only 17. I will be 18 in 5 months. That's cool if you call me by my name. I have alot of friends who don't think the same thing I do and I have no problem with that. I agree that since it is not life threatening it probably wouldn't be the best to have a medic alert...
  17. FaithInScienceToo-Thanks If you need help with anything let me know and if you have any questions just ask away
  18. I've always liked school too. I loved high school and now I love college. Not even the gluten-free diet changed it. I'm sure answers will very though Good luck with research
  19. Malt is definately a no for celiacs
  20. It's ok your still cool. You seem to be really on the right track and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. I had to throw out alot of my makeup too...but as you said just a small price to pay for a happier and healthier life. Talk to you soon and best of luck God bless
  21. That is good to hear I'm glad we can help..Also, have you also checked your makeup(esp. lipstick) and other products? It's so great that you are seeing results already I wish you all the best of luck
  22. flowers-if the blood test was positive I would not rule out celiac disease. If there is not enough damage to the intestine a biopsy will not catch it. Many people don't even have symptoms with celiac. Celiac is very underdiagnosed.I would also find a doctor who is knowledgable in celiac in your area. If you go to the homepage of this site there is a link...
  23. Gables-Hey I live in MD to. I'm not sure where you are but around where I am there are some good stores around that I know carry alot of good tasting gluten free foods. I don't know much about the diabetes thing so I can't help you there but I can definately help you from the celiac side of things. Also if your parents don't like ordering online you can get...
  24. celiac3270-That is so great that they found that!! I had that done before to and had to drink all that chalk like stuff. At least they flavored it but it was still pretty nasty. I hope that makes you feel better when you have the surgery done...I'm so happy for you! Good luck
  25. When you have kids they need to be tested. Celiac is genetic and runs in families. Doesn't mean they will have it but they could. Also they should be tested for any allergies as well. My mom has a severe wheat allergy but not celiac, my dad has no food restrictions as of now. Nobody in the family has been officially diagnosed with celiac although...
