  1. Could something else have made you sick other then the crackers? Or could your body not like something else that is in the crackers. As said before, they are made in a dedicated gluten free facility so they would not cause a gluten problem.
  2. Here are some restaurant cards you can get: Open Original Shared Link I understand it is frustrating and there are encounters like that we will get. Ordering something with no bread you have to make sure that the bread never touches what you eat because if they just take it off of the burger then it will be contaminated. It will always be a risk to...
  3. I believe you can order it from Canada. The stool test will test for tTG, malabsorption, and gluten sensitivity. You can also order a gene test from there and that is a mouth swab. The gene test they offer not only tests for the celiac genes but for gluten intolerance genes too. It is not widely accepted by the medical community but it becoming more accepted...

If you eat oats from the U.S then they are likely contaminated and you are getting some gluten in that way. The stats for contamination the companies that make oats are alarming.

I will not touch oatmeal. The kinds in the US are all contaminated and even a small percentage even react to the protein avenin in oats even when they are pure.
  6. The Delphi List is very in depth and free. Go to the product section on here and celiac3270 posted about how you can get it yourself or have him email it to you.
  7. Tests can be altered after 3 weeks gluten free. The results would not be accurate at this point. For blood tests or biopsies at this point they would both be inaccurate. Thats why they tell you to be on gluten 3 months before testing...even if he was attempting to be gluten free he would not be getting enough gluten in his system for testing. If he wants...
  8. If he was just diagnosed I would see no reason for another blood test so soon unless he is testing for something else.
  9. I tried them too...they have cinnamon raisin ones too. The blueberry ones are very edible. The first time I tried them we broiled them too long so they were hard and I did not like them. The second time I did not put them in as long and I must say they were not bad at all but they aren't like delicious though either.
  10. Paul~ You either have celiac or you do not. You must avoid it in all amounts. Some people react to every little bit while others may not have any symptoms at all but that does not mean anything. Damage is still being done no matter if you have the symptoms.
  11. If he has not had a celiac blood test then most likely they will go for that. If you do not want a blood test or anything invasive then an Enterolab would probably do well. They do a stool test for malabsorption, tTG, gluten sensitivity and so forth..you can also order a gene test through them but that is not a stool test it is a mouth swab. They not only...
  12. Here are the tests to request: Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgG Anti-Endomysial (EMA) IgA Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA Total Serum IgA When you are off of gluten before testing your body may start to heal and therefore make the results come back negative. Blood tests are usually followed up on after being gluten free...
  13. Well the full panel really will show some insight. Every test kind of has its piece to the puzzle. IgG and IgA are used to pick up gluten antibodies and a problem with gluten in the body. This is usually the first indication of celiac. tTG and EMA are used more to detect damage in the intestines-these are the best 2 tests and pretty accurate. Then there...

He lied...and under oath too. Everyone knows it too. I bet more people in baseball use steroids. Think about it...they only do urine tests though..alot of the guys inject right into the blood stream and alot of the time just won't show in the urine tests. I bet if they did blood samples then things would be different and the whole MLB would likely be suspended...
  15. Yes, the tTG will be replacing biopsies in at least kids diagnosis in the near future. It is a great test. You see more doctors diagnosing with just blood tests then putting them through biopsies too. However, it is still said the biopsy is the gold standard(I personally do not like them...they can rule celiac in with a positive but they can not rule it out...
  16. Well you could now still have it...so make sure you get the full panel of testing because you do not want to overlook it. It is genetic so most likely it's not just a coincidence your daughter got it. I believe with 1st degree relatives if 1 person has it then 1 in 10 is likely to have it as well.
  17. More women tend to have the autoimmune disorders. Celiac is more in women then men but anyone can have it and it could be that more men would be diagnosed if they would go to the doctors and get tested. My dad goes to the doctor sometimes but my mom can't let him go alone because he will say he is fine blah blah blah and be on his way. Women tend to be more...
  18. An endoscopy is where they put a tube down your throat and then go to the small intestine to get samples of the intestines to see if there is damage. A colonoscopy well they go up the other end...they can't diagnose celiac. Celiac is found in the small intestine and colonoscopies usually only cover the large intestine(colons) The capsule endo. is where...
  19. Yep..what they said...all except the Crispy..M&M's sound good now..I'm off to get some.
  20. Were only the IgG and IgA done on your kids? The full panel with the tTG and EMA and total serum IgA should also be done. The IgA can come back negative if your child is IgA deficient which is seen in some celiacs. This will make an otherwise positive test turn negative. Gluten sensitivity will not cause the damage that Celiac does but either way you should...
  21. You just don't get over celiac. This is not something that you can outgrow. You hav it or you don't and its a lifetime thing. The only "cure" is the diet. Which tests were done on you that came back negative? Also, as Richard said, since you were not tested as a kid there is a chance that you just never had it to begin with.
  22. I too believe in alternative medicine. I have got relief of many symptoms through the alternative route. Also, laundry detergents I use Arm and Hammer or Seventh Generation. They are gluten free but ever since I was a kid I was sensitive to detergents and that has been what we have stuck to.

    ARCHIVED Cheating

It's plain and simple...you will not feel better until you are completely gluten free with no cheating. It is hard at first but you will realize that it's just not worth feeling like crap all the time. There are alot of great tasting foods that we can have and as said previously...it does not have to be expensive.
  24. Natural Flavors all need to be checked on because it can contain gluten.
