  1. Well I would definitely encourage a doctor who will look more into this. There is a possibility she is gluten intolerant and not have celiac. If the IgA was run and came back negatve she could have IgA deficiency and had that come back negative when it would otherwise be positive. See how the other tests come back but there would be no hurt in trying the...
  2. We haven't started anything yet. It's pretty much in beginning stages and we are looking for people to join. We have about 6 so far and possibly 3 more. Maybe we can all plan to do something
  3. If he had celiac then he is not cured. Celiac is not curable at this point. Even if his symptoms went away that does not mean he was cured. I would be very skeptical of what people like that say.
  4. If you do not care about the testing then I would try the diet out and see if it helps. Your body will be able to tell you. You do have to be on gluten for 3 months prior to testing with eating equal to about 2-3 slices of bread a day for testing to be accurate. However, even if the results come back negative you could still have gluten intolerance.
  5. The first thing that comes to my mind is are you getting any gluten in through products as mentioned by Jnkmnky. Even products like shampoos and soaps and other things can get into your mouth and cause reactions. Any avenue needs to be evaluated. I was glutening myself for a while through a lip balm that had vitamin e derived from wheat. I think you really...
  6. You should print out the list of safe and forbidden ingredients. That will definitely help you out. The brands mentioned in a link above are great for us too because they will not hide any gluten under any otherwise questionable ingredients.
  7. He could have both or have been misdiagnosed. Both of those indicate a problem with gluten and even though they are not the best tests for celiac they do help in the process. If it is in the beginning stages and not damaged in the intestines yet then the tTG would be normal. The tTG is an awesome test but is specifically for the damage.
  8. Glutano has lemon wafers that are good. Glutano had blueberry and apple bars that are good but the chocolate ones are nasty.
  9. The bite size of snickers and that stuff is gluten free. The poppables are NOT gluten free though. celiac3270 is having computer issues...you can find more about that in the Gab Room
  10. Your daughter should be tested. However, have the complete celiac panel of blood tests run first. She may not even need a biopsy. You need to be careful about cross contamination...after you pick up cheerios where she spilled then wash your hands. The diet will help with your symptoms but give it time because it will not happen overnight. Some people...
  11. I stick with the organic apples because I don't want those gross chemicals in my food anyway and have never had a problem. I have only heard this rumor...every place I have called told me they were fine. Maybe certain brands are having problems with this.
  12. The best gluten free pasta is Tinkyada. It tastes normal. Also, there is a lot of gluten free food that is good but there are some pretty nasty tasting ones. I am sure he will change his mind when he tastes some of the good stuff.
  13. well I just like to help any way I can...my job will give me $ but this is something I do because I like to. If you have any questions though...just ask

I'm surprised Football wasn't voted for more. I love Football but can't beat NASCAR in my book
  15. Yes, they changed it some time ago which was stupid. However, Post's Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles are gluten free
  16. Yes, there are caterers who will make gluten free cake for you. You may have to call around and see but I know you can get a gluten free cake. I'm not sure of the price.
  17. Mary~ When you get the results back, make sure you get a copy of them so you can see them for yourself. They have reference ranges on the blood test sheet. Not all labs are the same so normal in one lab may be abnormal in another, so you have to look at their ranges.
  18. Here is the Neutrogena list. This is a pretty updated list but do remember that companies products change all the time and always just double check the label. Active Breathable Sunblock SPF 30 Active Breathable Sunblock SPF 45 Advanced Solutions Acne Mark Eliminating Peel Advanced Solutions Acne Therapy System Advanced Solutions Facial Peel...
  19. No they are not gluten free. They changed their ingredients some time ago. You have to be careful about what the doctors give you because alot of them are outdated and inaccurate.
  20. If you go to this sites home page and scroll down there is a link to recommended doctors made by other celiacs. You can search and see if there is any in your area. I wish I could give you a personal recommendation but I am over in Maryland so I don't think my recommendation would do any good from over here
  21. They told me if they had 3 certain plant numbers on the top and were with no additives then they were gluten free. The lady told me anything with natural flavors and other additives should not be considered safe for me. Now, it's possible you were told other things but that is not what I was told. It seems like some of these companies say different things...
  22. Alot of things I have found that say wheat free usually have rye, barley, or oats in them. You can't trust when it says wheat free so you have to check the ingredients and not depend on the "wheat-free"
  23. The Pure Premium with no additives IS gluten free. Everything else is not. So at least Tropicana does have at least 1 thing we can have.
  24. Kraft and some other brands that are listed on here will not hide anything even under otherwise questionable ingredients. They will list wheat, rye, barley, oats right on the label or they will be safe. As for Caramel Color...most of the time in the US it is fine but you do have to check on it(unless it is a brand that will not hide anything) Semolina...
  25. In different countries it is different. Over here in the U.S &Canada it is NOT gluten free. I think in Europe and some other areas they consider wheat starch to be gluten free. I'm not sure why it is this way. There is no way I would touch something with wheat starch in it.
