  1. There is so much you can eat. First these are mainstream products that will not hide anything. The following labels will list wheat, rye, barley, oats on the label or they will be safe: Aunt Nelly’s Balance Baskin Robbins Ben&Jerry Betty Crocker Blue Bunny Breyers Campbells Cascadian Farms Celestial Seasonings ...
  2. Well if your body feels better on the diet then stay on the diet. Whether you are gluten intolerant or have celiac you still need to follow the diet. If you want to know for sure if you are celiac and do not want to get back on gluten there are a few things I would suggest: 1. A gene test....if you do not have a celiac gene then you are 99.99% likely to...
  3. If you are celiac as stated before, any little bit will cause reactions. Have you checked shampoos/lotions/makeups and all that stuff? It also takes time on the gluten-free diet to heal so do not expect a change really soon. It took me 8 months to get back to normal. There are many symptoms with celiac so thats not really a way to tell. You do have some...
  4. Yes, there is a good chance you could be both. I have celiac and a severe allergy to wheat. As suggested, you not only need allergy testing but you need a specific celiac test because celiac is not an allergy.
  5. Kraft Ranch Dressing is gluten free. Jen put the list for you of brands that will clearly indicate the presence of gluten. They will not hide anything under otherwise questionable ingredients. If those labels do not say wheat, rye, barley, oats on them then they will be safe. Also, Jen's suggestion on the Delphi list is a really good one. That list is 79...
  6. Gluten free products are definitely becoming more "mainstream" and getting notice. This is great news for all of us!
  7. Your numbers do suggest a problem with gluten. They don't come back elevated for no reason. Can't really tell with symptoms..some people just never get symptoms with it. What you could do is get tested for what you did last time and see if those levels that were high before went down since you have been on the diet.
  8. An Enterolab tests for gluten sensitivity but also for malabsorption and tTG and those would indicate celiac. If you have the gene you have the predisposition for it and can have it activated at any time but it won't say whether it is activated at that time. If you don't have the gene you are 99.99% likely not to get celiac and it that case you could be gluten...
  9. Yep, they will not guarantee their products to be gluten free so I would not eat it. I agree with Jen..I love Yoplait and they will clearly list gluten on the label in the form of wheat, rye, barley, oats
  10. Imagine my surprise when I am looking through news articles and find this about being gluten free and celiac. Open Original Shared Link This is great for us! Gluten Free products are even hitting walmart this month it says. More publicity for us
  11. Alot of Clinique is not gluten free. I had to throw my stuff out. I use Bare Escentuals because that whole line of makeup is gluten free.
  12. Well I do not have inlaws but I have the extended family and they fill that job quite well. Some try to get it but others do not even try and I feel like I waste my breath sometimes. I'm always asked "would you like a roll" or whatever else they have there that I obviously can't have. One person in my family came up to me and said " I wish you could eat...
  13. Digestive Enzymes and Probiotics are great. L-Glutamine is great for intestinal healing too. All of these are not for everyone but they worked great for me. You just can't expect to feel better so soon..just keep doing what you are doing and it will come. Also, looking at shampoos/cosmetics and all that stuff is a good idea to do because you may be...
  14. You will be lucky to see any improvement so fast. It takes time to heal. It took me 8 months to get to normal. I was getting alot better by the 3rd month though. Just stick to it, it will be worth it but don't expect such a quick change. Everyone varies with times of when their symptoms go away. It depends on damage done, age, etc
  15. SoftSoap is gluten free
  16. They will not be absorbed into the skin. Gluten is too large to fit through the skin. If there is an open cut or something then you need to worry. I use all gluten-free products because the risk of them getting into my mouth someway is pretty much inevitable.
  17. They hide it too so you have to know brands and call around. The whole Bare Escentuals makeup line is gluten free Continuous Color by CoverGirl is gluten free Dove will clearly indicate gluten in the form of wheat, rye, barley, oats on the label of all their products( I use many products from here) Neutrogena has a list of products that are gluten...
  18. HLA is the gene testing. I have the HLA-DQ2 gene which is a main gene in causing celiac. If you do not have the gene then 99.99% chance you won't get celiac. You could however have gluten intolerance then which means you still need to follow the diet. If your doctor did a biopsy while you have been gluten free 3 months then no wonder it turned out negative...
  19. Celiac is not an allergy. Gas, bloating, fatigue sounds like celiac but your other symptoms like sneezing, feeling like your throat is going to close is a true allergic reaction and you shoud probably get checked for not only celiac but for allergies as well. If you have an allergy to it though then you need to avoid it. Sometimes it's hard to get it into...
  20. I think once you are gluten free for a while and heal that damage you will have a chance like the normal population. Just stick with the diet because not only do miscarriages happen but you can get many serious and potentially life threatening things from ignoring it. I'm sorry for your losses.
  21. Yes, I've been gluten free since January of 2004 and I still talk about celiac all the time to people. It varies on times to get back to normal. To fully get back to normal it was about 8 months for me but I saw major improvement well before that. Hang in there..if you have supportive people by you then it makes it tons easier to cope with.
  22. Yep- thanks Gina. I did miss that part. I do agree that staying gluten free would definitely be the best option at this point. If it is the gluten causing a problem it takes time and it took me 8 months to get back to normal. Try to stick with it and if it continues not to help then I would re evaluate things at that point and possibly then try the challenge...
  23. The EMA is a pretty good test. Not as good as the tTG though. However, none of the blood tests would be accurate if you were not on gluten at the time of testing. Another thing is if the celiac was not activated at that time or in beginning stages then it could turn up negative then as well.
  24. The candida diet may not make you completely gluten free. So make sure you are following the gluten free diet as well and not just relying on the candida diet to be gluten free.Gluten is in other things besides the basic breads and things like that. It can be hidden in many things including makeups/shampoos/soaps/lotions, etc. There are over 200 symptoms...
  25. yes it can be wrong if you are not eating gluten.
