  1. if it was negative then no because a biopsy can miss damage. There may be sporadic or no damage yet. It can rule in celiac but it can't rule it out. If it was positive then you HAVE celiac. Doesn't matter about blood work
  2. This is a duplicate post. Please do not respond here. Thanks
  3. Some tests are more accurate then others, some labs are better. There can be a lot of factors to why the blood tests did not show extremely elevated levels. The fact that he has damage though gives it away that he has celiac. I am glad he has been feeling better. Welcome to the board
  4. That would not cause a biopsy to come positive for celiac if it was not. Your child does have celiac. A positive biopsy does not lie...there is clearly indication of damage which says the gluten is destroying his intestines. A stomach flu would not cause damage like that.
  5. This is a duplicate post. Please do not respond here. The other post is pinned in the Pre Diagnosis section. Thanks
  6. Stef- I know exactly how you feel. People just associate it with an allergy and they do not know anything about it. They think they know everything but they don't and I don't think half of them want to learn. You have a right to be mad and your husband should have been supportive.
  7. An endoscopy has been the gold standard for diagnosis. If you had a positive one then you have celiac....no if ands or buts about it. If you have a negative biopsy then you still can have celiac and need blood tests for sure then but with a positive one you definitely have it and need to go gluten free right away.
  8. BabySnooks-Just check the label on Kraft..they will say wheat, rye, barley, oats if it has any. There will not be anything hidden in the sometimes questionable ingredients.
  9. Don't expect your symptoms to go away so soon. It took me 8 months to feel normal again and all that damage doesn't suddenly disappear. Give your body time here. Any improvement that soon should make you feel happy.
  10. Whey has nothing to do with gluten...it has to do with milk. So as Michelle said, as long as you are fine with dairy then you should be ok
  11. We do not check each post. When you start a topic that is the only thing we check and then a moderator has to pin that in a section before it will show up there(however it can still be read in the todays active posts). Everything else is not checked before it is posted. I hope this helps you understand a bit how this forum works
  12. This is a duplicate post. This will be deleted so please do not respond here. Here is the link where you can respond: Open Original Shared Link
  13. You mean when you start a topic? They will not show up until a moderator has pinned them in a section. You can review posts made by going to todays active posts and they will be there even if they are not pinned yet.
  14. It has not been pinned yet. When it is then it will show up. You can see it in Todays Active Posts now though. It was just pinned by the way and you can read it in the Gab Room
  15. PrincessLeah- You started a thread about if snickers were gluten free and you will find your answer in that thread also. Snickers are gluten free. Alot of candy is
  16. Thanks, my actual reaction time was about 2 weeks or so and now I feel good but I still have a little damage from that. Just shows that no symptoms doesn't mean no damage because even the little bit I accidentally had inflammed my intestines. Pumping my body with L-Glutamine now.
  17. You can't really force it on them. You can present them with information and tell them it is genetic. After you give them the info then it is in their hands and they choose how to deal with that info. My extended family is very stubborn and even though stomach problems are in the family they will not get tested.
  18. If you want to be gluten free and you know it is making you sick do you need testing? Also, if you want to be gluten free for your wedding can't you postpone testing for a few months while you get back on gluten? If you stay gluten free then there is a strong possibility that your results will show up negative. Testing can be done later, a few months...
  19. Most people get better before 7 years go by so I think you will get better before then as well. I was bummed because I had a gluten accident like a month ago and I found out yesterday my intestines still show inflammation from that!!!! Are you talking about the ANDI little mint bars? They are soooo good..I'm addicted
  20. Yes, you have the predisposition to it so once that gene is activated your body will damage itself whenever gluten is ingested. Try to find out what those reference ranges are because all labs are different. The Transglutaminase(tTG) is a really good test.
  21. Agreed, sounds like you may have both. They do not diagnose celiac without proof so if you were diagnosed I would say you really do have that but maybe in addition to something else.
  22. Definitely is a problem with gluten and I agree with Carrie it looks like results may show beginning stages.
  23. Fatigue is the most common symptom. I know how you feel!! I was always tired at one point...I think thats all I did. My reactions last a good 2 weeks but it varies from person to person.
  24. I agree, do not be gluten free until all testing is complete. If you are gluten free now till your appointment that can cause it to be off maybe. How long have you been attempting to be gluten free? You should be eating gluten everyday for 3 months before testing.
  25. Symptoms don't mean anything at all. Some people never get symptoms with it. Everyone is different.
