  1. This is the complete panel that is very efficient in testing. Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgG Anti-Endomysial (EMA) IgA Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA Total Serum IgA The tTG test they do also do in Enterolab but it is by stool sample. The panel above is bloodwork If you are gluten free it can make test results inaccurate...
  2. Moderators move the topics to where they feel the appropriate place is for the post. It will not disappear though...you can go to "todays active posts" and search for the last couple days and it will show up there . Or as Kristina said, you can do the "find members posts" search. If you have any questions though just ask...someone will have an answer...
  3. You just have to check absolutely everything. Some salad dressings will be ok and others are not. Pretty much for everything that contains gluten, there is a gluten free version. You can find info on so many great products on here and there are some brands that will clearly list wheat, rye, barley, oats on the label or will be safe. Those brands definitely...
  4. Vitamin E can be a problem. I has lip balm I was using months ago and I had a bad reaction and I could not figure it out. Turns out the Vitamin E was derived from wheat Learned my lesson there Some doctors are numbskulls and just don't know everything. To tell you the truth you keep learning things along the way though. You just have to check everything...
  5. The Enterolab is the up and coming thing in my opinion. Some doctors now accept it but others do not. Blood tests are very accurate, depending on which one you get done. The tTG test is getting ready to take the place of biopsies for diagnosis in kids. Biopsies can have false negatives to...in my opinion the blood tests are better. My doctor did not...
  6. If she has celiac it will sure help her. Don't expect an overnight change though. For the symptoms to go away it takes time...for some it is longer then others.
  7. The reason why everything is negative is because you were gluten free so you were not able to get accurate readings. Any doctor who knows a thing or 2 about celiac will tell you the same thing. The gene test will tell you if you have one of the main celiac genes. If you do not then you are 99.9% likely to not have celiac. However, there are other genes...
  8. I agree, definitely get tested. Don't let them blow you off...you have the cards in your hand. Make sure they do a complete panel though because that is very efficient in detecting celiac.
  9. That's good...maybe some of them do not contain it. You may want to check with the company to see if it is gluten free though. I did not call the company so I do not know if any of them are considered gluten free but know that some aren't
  10. The board was updated yesterday and this is the new style
  11. All of the Herbal Essences shampoos and conditioners that I have seen contain wheat. Most of them say wheat protein on the label. I don't use that brand anymore. I use Dove shampoos/conditioners/bar soaps/and hairsprays because they will not hide anything on the label and are one of the safe brands unless otherwise stated. Alot of lipsticks have wheat...

    ARCHIVED Wendy's

Thanks for sharing...I stay away from Wendy's ...I don't trust them at all with preparing food for me...they are shall we say clueless
  13. Yeah, that would concern me too. I would not eat it
  14. The IgG is not a very specific test. This test can't be factored in by itself for a diagnosis because out of all the tests that has the highest chance of being wrong. With him being gluten free for 2 years though..the testing really isn't valid. Autism has been said to be connected with celiac and they do seem to benefit from the diet so I would say...
  15. The tests are worthless since he has been gluten free. They would not be accurate at all. When you are gluten free thats how they test your compliance so being gluten free it should be negative....thats why in initial testing it is so important to keep eating gluten. Why was he put on the gluten free diet?
  16. Hershey is one of those good companies that will not hide anything. I know they are gluten free in the U.S . I am not sure of the policy in Canada.....I am sure one of our Canadian friends would know I would think that Hershey there would be safe to but that is just my opinion and I do not know that for a fact.
  17. I just got on here and I was like wow. I knew it would updated but I didn't know it would be changed. I really like it though
  18. celiac3270- Definitely Males
  19. Yes alot of those are highly connected with celiac. Osteoporosis, Vitamin D deficiency, Arthritis, Thyroid...all connected...not sure about the others but good chance that they are too. If celiac goes untreated you are 40-100 times more likely for cancer, diabetes, etc. Have you been 100% gluten free? Including checking products like makeups/shampoos...
  20. I think intestinal damage in reaction to avenin for some people.
  21. Hair loss can come with it...I know people on this board that had that problem pre gluten free
  22. Yes, Splenda is gluten free...I don't eat it but it's good info to have anyway
  23. The main downside is on the social scene for me. It's can be difficult to explain to people who don't get it. The cost is more expensive for the specialty gluten free items too. Physically, I don't think there is a downside
  24. It was fast for me yesterday too
  25. Please be respectful. I don't think there was a need for that comment...that was taken care of.
