  1. Yep, I have had dreams like that before. I could almost taste the pizza...and when you can almost taste it and it is a dream then it is better because it won't make you sick
  2. It's been controversial about the taste...I mean it's like that with just about every food though. Maybe your son will like Ian's kind better.
  3. It is pretty much the standard reply but one thing that concerns me a bit was them saying wheat, rye, and barley. They did not cover oats in there
  4. Vydorscope-Has your son tried Ian's chicken nuggets yet? I know with Ian's it is controversial some people like them and some don't. I'm guessing same goes for these too. It just depends on what the person likes.
  5. Yep you are right. Her original post says she went to get coffee for her husband. Which that means there had to be something else maybe through cross contamination that made her react.
  6. Ann- I have been following the diet since January of 2004. I read alot of books and research through the Internet, and have called alot of companies. It's really good for me because I want to be a dietitian anyway
  7. Yep, they are a General Mills brand so if they contain any gluten it will list wheat, rye, barley, oats right on the label. I use Betty Crocker potato buds:D
  8. Yes, alot of things that you think would be gluten free turn out not to be. You can have Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles by Post though They are a Kraft brand and will not hide anything. Anyways, this is an example of why it is so important to read labels. At least now you know so you don't consume it anymore. I have made that mistake before as well with...
  9. hmm...never had a problem with that over here but I'll definitely pay attention for it. I always make sure my meat is cooked well before eating it and you should always make sure because you don't want to end up sick.
  10. I hope you all like them as much as I do. I ate 3 bags in like the last 2 days and there are about 15 to a bag
  11. Ok here are all of the ingredients from the bag. It also says gluten free and dairy free. Chicken meat, battered and breaded with rice flour, water, yellow corn flour, tapioca dextrin, salt, corn starch, spices, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, extractives of paprika and tumeric, yeast extract, natural flavors, soybean oil, tumeric, beet powder, malic...
  12. I personally thought Ian's were ok and I ate them but compared to these ...they just don't compare in my opinion
  13. 2 days ago at a local health food store I found chicken bites that said gluten free right on them. We then got a bag and tried them and let me tell you these are addicting(and I am a pretty picky eater). They taste exactly like normal ones so we went back and took every last one from their shelf. They are by Wellshire Farms and they are Wellshire kids...
  14. Maybe people from your family did have it but never found out. It is a very commonly missed disease. If you have a celiac gene then yes you can have celiac activated. If you are gluten intolerant now, it can turn into celiac later...however there are other factors that can make the celiac activate such as stress, bacterial and viral infections, surgery, childbirth...
  15. Usually the 1st step is a complete panel of blood tests for celiac. I would get that done first. You could always consider getting an Enterolab done too.
  16. Yep the previous posters are correct. A colonoscopy will not detect celiac. You may want to find a GI doctor who is familiar with celiac. You need to stay on gluten until after testing as well. Before the endoscopy, usually doctors do a complete panel of blood tests for celiac. Depending how the results come out is usually when they decide if a biopsy...
  17. Yes, the difference between gluten intolerance and celiac though is gluten intolerance should not cause the damage that celiacs have. However, you are correct in the fact that with celiac there can be no symptoms at all and still have damage.
  18. Which tests did you have done? Some tests are better then others. If you saw an improvement then chances are at the minimum that you have an intolerance to gluten.
  19. I would start in the pre diagnosis section of this board. I think that would be most helpful to you at this point. You can find out more about symptoms, testing, and so forth.
  20. I agree. There are other drinks that taste good that have nutritional value and will not hurt your body in the process. I used to drink soda frequently but now I very rarely ever have it. When I do it is the stuff with the real sugar though. It's an individual decision though
  21. Is there any possible gluten slipping in? Through products like shampoo or anything? You may want to get tested for thyroid, as Carrie suggested, because that can cause weight loss if it is hyper. I have Graves disease(hyperthyroid) and it is connected with celiac so maybe you have that too..its worth checking out. But I think you are in the healthy...
  22. I'm actually 18 in about a week. It does take longer to heal the older you are. It also depends on the extent of damage done because I have seen older people get better quicker then I did after going gluten free. So I think there are many factors involved.
  23. Yes, the Post Cocoa Pebbles are gluten free
  24. I react when I am in places with flour floating around and then breathe it in. Could it have been any other possibility? Makeup or other products, etc?
  25. To me, that would be too much, yes. I think regular soda is bad for you but the diet soda to me is way worse.
