  1. I had symptoms such as nausea, anxiety, constipation, weight loss, etc. You and everyone in your family should be tested. You should be on gluten for a good 3 months before testing though because you may have inaccurate results. It is a genetic disease so maybe all of you do have it. Even if you don't it's worth being tested for. You should get a full celiac...
  2. I'll keep my eye out for her and help welcome her
  3. In kids under the age of 2 all of the celiac tests can be inaccurate. In other cases, I think a full panel is beneficial to get done..I never recommend just one test be done...but from info I have gathered from many knowlegable doctors and many reliable articles it shows that the tTG is the best test for detecting the disease...
  4. which medical studies? some medical people dont exactly know what they are talking about..and obviously the research has been going well with the tTG testing that they are getting ready to use it to replace biopsy for diagnosis. I mean the research all points to that test being the best blood test and highly accurate. The rate of it being false is really...
  5. Those are by all of them
  6. Did you have blood tests done? And throughout the testing you had done you were on gluten correct? Otherwise it can make results false. A biopsy in itself is good for a diagnosis if there is damage but the problem is you may not have any damage or you may have sporadic damage so it may miss a diagnosis. Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgG...
  7. I found the topic and I was able to get in it fine...I even replied and wrote "this is a test topic" It is not locked...maybe it is your comp. I would try it again.

    ARCHIVED Favorite Sports

Yep, the salaries of these sports players are insane. The high salaries should be going to the people in the military and the people who help keep this country safe. And the Presidents to get so little money for all they do compared to people who do so much less for so much more. Something doesn't add up to me.
  9. celiac3270- That would be awesome if one took the wild card and the other took the division. Too see the Yanks out of the playoffs for just one year would make me proud.

  11. Hang in there...it's good you can at least have a sense of humor about it. I'm sure it could definitely be worse
  12. I don't know how in the world it could get locked. I'm an Orioles fan...but the Red Sox are on a hot streak and now they are in 1st ahead of my O's O well Red Sox are better then the Yanks in my book so better them then the Yanks
  13. tTG is the most specific test for celiac. The tTG and EMA are the most important, along with the total serum IgA. The other 2 tests(IgA and IgG) are not really relied on because they can be so inaccurate The tTG test may take the place of a biopsy in diagnosis in children in the near future. It is a very sensitive test and the probability of it being false...
  14. I love rice...I don't have problems with it either. However, Kristina is correct...rice does contain gluten and all grains contain gluten but only the certain proteins in some of those grains cause us problems. If you have a problem with rice it would not be celiac related but you should stay away from it if it causes issues
  15. I think that's a great idea celiac3270
  16. Yes, get tested...it is genetic. You don't have to have any symptoms at all with celiac so you won't be able to tell by that. Better tested to find out now if you have it or not

    ARCHIVED What To Do Next?

Shampoos and soaps and things like that contain gluten. What happens with shampoo is it just has a high chance of getting into your mouth while washing your hair. With soaps...say you wash your hands with gluten containing soap and then prepare your food...now the food has gluten on it. There are just alot of avenues that are possible with getting gluten...
  18. What did the report say? I know about reports that anger me so I understand where you are coming from
  19. It is not pinned yet thats why...if you go to todays active topics you can see it but a moderator has to pin it before it will be in a section..I'll go pin it for you
  20. Here is the link to the forbidden foods and safe foods lists: https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 Also, the following brands of food will not hide anything so they will state wheat, rye, barley, oats right on the label if their foods contain any. If you do not see one of those ingredients then it will be safe. Remember though that policies can...
  21. I'm not sure I would classify people who think vaccinations harm you as idiots. I personally see both sides of the issue and know people who have had serious illnesses due to getting the vaccination but at the same time it benefits alot of people as well so I see the logic of both sides.
  22. Pretty much everywhere is a risk for contamination (given some more then others) Personally, at McDonalds, I have had good experiences. When I go I get their fries or their hash browns and prior to ordering we check and make sure they are prepared by themselves. I would understand not wanting to go back if there was a previous gluten accident that has happened...
  23. Pre gluten free my WBC count was low(not by alot and the doctor was not concerned...i was more concerned then him) Now, my WBC counts are in the normal range
  24. Last time I checked it was gluten free. I very rarely drink soda and when I do it's not that so I can't say that I would know for certain. Best thing is to call.
