  1. With celiac in the family I would think there is something going on. Also there could be IgA deficiency which is causing the IgA results to come back normal when otherwise it would be positive. I would get the full celiac panel with the tTG and EMA(very specific for celiac) FYI-The tTG test may be taking place of a biopsy for diagnosis in kids in...
  2. Scroll up to where you can logout and hit My Controls. Then on the side you'll have options and scroll to where it says Edit Signature and click on it. Then type what you want....save it...and then it's like the rest of ours
  3. I'm sure quite a few people read the posts but they do not post..I did that for a while(about 2 months) when I joined this site. I sure hope that they are getting help from the posts.
  4. My whole family eats gluten free inside the house. For some people this may not work and they may not feel the need too...for us it has worked out great. When I have reactions that last for about 2 weeks I get nausea, anxiety, fatigue, moody, and some constipation...thats pretty much mainly what the reaction is for me. If you do not have a gluten free...

    ARCHIVED Ohio Doc

Also if you go to the homepage of celiac.com and scroll down then there is a link to recommended doctors by other celiacs. You can look for ones under your state and see if there is any in or near your area.
  6. If the endoscopy showed damage and was positive then you HAVE celiac and should be on a gluten free diet. Candida can be linked with celiac too.
  7. thanks for the link I posted this one :Open Original Shared Link I think it may be the one you used. A # of people have posted quite a few links.
  8. Good, I'm glad you found it. Open Original Shared Link That is the link for it. I think it was pinned quite some time ago. We are usually pretty prompt at getting the topics pinned. If not pinned, then we have either overlooked it or it is spam.
  9. Maybe you have problems with peanuts as well. Have you considered maybe getting a allergy or intolerance test done to check for that? That may be a good idea. Also, you may want to keep a food journal and then see if there is a correlation between any food and you getting sick. If your body doesn't like peanuts then stay away from them. Peanuts are a food...

    ARCHIVED Grrrr....

    You showed him good.
  11. The question about what casein is was pretty much answered in the previous post. It is a milk protein. However, not all celiacs are affected by milk and it doesn't play a role in all of us. I was intolerant my whole life(on and off) until going gluten free...once the damage healed I was able to tolerate milk again in any amounts and now have no problems whatsoever...
  12. There is so much that you think you can't have at first but the selection of what we can have keeps expanding. We can have alot more then we think at first. If you do have it make sure your son is tested and tell your blood relatives to be tested because it is genetic. Welcome to the board and if you have questions just ask away
  13. Yoplait in the US is a brand that will not hide anything so they will list wheat, rye, barley, oats right on the label if they have anything in there that contains it. Orville popcorn is gluten free
  14. Different labs vary with the ranges of normal. My lab said anything below a 4 was normal...I had a 10
  15. Well you have to let a reaction run its course. There may be things you can take to help relieve symptoms. Probiotics, enzymes, and liquid vitamins help me tremendously with reactions. I take those all the time though. Maybe there are over the counter drugs that can help relieve some symptoms. My reactions last a good 2 weeks.
  16. I love the UTZ chips and never had a problem with them. Maybe there was cross contamination in the bag you had or maybe you reacted to something else in it.
  17. My reactions last about 2 weeks...however everyones reaction time varies.
  18. Glutano and Midel have some...I get Glutano ones alot...have yet to try the Midel ones
  19. Something like that would not be ignored by doctors. I would get tested again as well to see where you are at this point and then decide where to go. Why is she waiting till now to tell you that? That may in fact be something that could have been linked with celiac. Celiac can really throw your systems off balance.
  20. Yes, that is a sign of hyperthyroid. It may be associated with hypothyroid as well.
  21. That is common for people to think if you do not lose weight that you can't have celiac. That is so false. Some people have weight loss but just as many people can have weight gain. You can also be a normal weight. There are over 200 symptoms associated with celiac and symptoms among people vary. In fact, some people get no symptoms at all.
  22. Try looking at the home page of celiac.com and if you scroll down there is a link to recommended doctors by other celiacs. Click on that and then find your state. Maybe there is one around. I can see that the doctor wants to see what condition her intestine is in..that would be the only reason for the biopsy. I personally don't know if it would be worth...
  23. I'm getting a blood test done. What you had done sounds like it was to detect only allergies. I don't think intolerances would come up on that. Sounds like you have a wheat allergy in addition to celiac. Did they tell you how severe it was?
  24. I had mood swings alot pre-gluten-free and they have got alot better...I still have my moments but it is tons better. Some people may need to go on meds for this but make sure this is the best thing because there are many side effects and doctors seem to be prescription happy. I would do that as a last resort...if all else fails Exercise helps me...
  25. The only thing to do is present them with the information that it is genetic and if ignored then they are 40-100 times more likely to develop cancer and other disabling things. It knocks an average of 10 years off of your life. After you have given them this information all you can do is hope they listen. My mom and dad both were tested right away but my...
