  1. I ditto the previous post...that would be helpful to know If you are in fact celiac then is there a way you could be getting gluten in through makeup or other products you use or are they gluten free to? If you are 100% gluten free including with products you may want to try a food journal to see if symptoms flare up after any certain food. You may...
  2. Maltodextrin in foods is ok in the US unless stated otherwise on the label BUT in medications and products like that maltodextrin must be checked because it can contain gluten. Before you try any products you should verify if they are gluten free. I use Dove products like soap, shampoo, lotion, conditioners, and hairspray. Dove will clearly state wheat...
  3. Not all the ones in the US have that written on the side but they all are made on dedicated lines(at least here in the US)
  4. https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodid=1160 This is an artictle about tTG tests possibly taking place of a biopsy in kids. The tTG test is a very specific test and the chances of this being false are very slim. Yes, there are cases where someone may be IgA deficient and therefore have their tests negative. On the other hand though, biopsies can...
  5. I personally have not had a problem with Frito Lay products. They even have some products such as the STAXX that are made on dedicated gluten free lines. However, the ones made on same lines as gluten containing foods do have the risk for contamination. Could there have been something else in the chips besides gluten giving you a problem? Do you have trouble...
  6. That bites!
  7. Which tests were positive? Did he have the tTG or EMA done? These are very specific tests for celiac. About his symptoms...he doesn't have to have any at all in order to have celiac. Some people don't get any symptoms and some do. There very well may be celiac running in your family but nobody knows. Celiac is very common but underdiagnosed. You may...
  8. Well that basically means your body does not want gluten. If you are gluten intolerant you need to follow the same diet as a celiac....if you do not then it may lead to eventually getting celiac disease. If something makes you sick..stay away from it.
  9. My pic is a bit blurry to but I figured it's not that blurry so I'll just leave it like I have it... I can't see the pic you have up right now..
  10. Yes, I wouldn't wear one just for celiac but I would add celiac to it if it turns out I also am allergic. Have to see how that test turns out.
  11. Yep the tablets are gluten-free.
  12. Just beer..I would have said o next time I'll add just a little bit of rat poison...just a little bit..see if thats ok for you. I have been glutened by my friends before. I hope you feel better soon
  13. no it may or may not be ok...I explained it a bit in my post above.
  14. Richard is correct. The full panel needs to be done. She could be IgA deficient so otherwise positive tests would show negative. Also getting the rash biopsied is definitely not a bad idea. *Anemia is linked with celiac too
  15. No problem I didn't even know the lipsticks were gluten-free
  16. Do they sell the brand "Post" in Canada? That is the brand of the cereals. Not sure if they sell it there but you could always order it and have it shipped there couldn't you.
  17. I have run into things in the US made in the US with gluten in the caramel color. I'll ask my mom to see if she remembers exactly what it was...she is the one who called about it. For the most part it will be ok but it can contain barley malt so it is something to watch.
  18. With your tTG and EMA both normal as well as all the IgA's then I would say you probably do not have celiac. The tTG and EMA are the most specific tests you can get for celiac. I would investigate into what is going on with your CBC counts though. Your IgG can be high maybe due to something else..with the other tests negative I would seem to doubt celiac...
  19. If you were gluten free for a month then that can interfere with the accuracy of tests. The tTG test is one of the most specific tests for celiac so yes that is a good test to get done. I had this test done by prometheus labs and it came back high.
  20. I'm the short haired one..in my previous avatar it was alot longer but I cut it. I look short compared to my friend in the pic...she is 5'10 or so and I'm now just about 5'4
  21. Yep some people do pay attention to that. I mean I look at how many posts people have sometimes....it was kind of hard not to notice so many blue boxes though...I'm a detail person I guess
  22. I just emailed a compnay explaining about what celiac was and asked them if this is something they think I need a medical ID bracelet for. I'll let you know when I hear from them about what they have to say about this. I have noticed the last couple times I was glutened I feel like I can't breathe and we think I am also maybe allergic to wheat so I have...
  23. ok cool..I sent her an e-mail
  24. Kraft is one of the brands that will not hide anything. If it had anything with wheat, rye, barley, oats then it would clearly state that on the label So that would not be a problem unless stated on the label
  25. Do I just ask for coupons or what? I feel kind of bad saying hey send me some coupons
