  1. There are over 200 symptoms that can be associated with celiac disease. Fatigue is actually a very common one.
  2. Some people on here take Centrum and alot of theirs are gluten free..maybe people on here that use that brand can help you out with that. I use Liquid Vitamins Plus by Utrition and love them.
  3. You do not have to have any specific symptom to have celiac. In fact, you do not have to have any symptoms at all. Alot of people actually get no symptoms but find out when other problems start or they were lucky and were able to catch it. I never had diarrhea with celiac...I had the opposite. As for bloodwork, my initial testing had 2 positive and ...
  4. woohoo! That's awesome....TCBY will also do that... now I have some options

    ARCHIVED Dating

The people that are worth spending your time with will not see this as a big deal. There are other things to do on dates other then eat out. It can be easily worked around. You'll hit the occasionally jerk...o well their loss...that's my attitude about it.
  6. Ask to speak to the manager...that usually will scare them enough to help I like the idea of calling before you go and talk with the manager and see what can be done to ensure you get gluten free food. Go to places with gluten free menus like Outback. Definitey bring the celiac card...tell them its very serious and you will get extremely...
  7. The problem with biopsies are that if they come back negative then that does not prove you do not have celiac. It just proves there is no damage yet. Did he have the basic blood panel or the full panel with the tTG and EMA done?
  8. Which tests did you have done? The tTG and EMA are very specific for celiac and the chance of them being false in slim to none. Most initial tests do not consist of these so I would request them. Also you could be IgA deficient, which some celiacs are. That makes an otherwise positive test negative. I would get further testing dones though because of having...
  9. Barbara~ It can be made of things other then corn BUT in the US they have a rule they MUST follow and they will put on the label if it is derived from wheat In the medications that rule is different but Maltodextrin in the US with food is safe unless stated.
  10. Maltodextrin in the US is safe unless it states on the label. This is for all companies..not just some...it's a rule in the US. It is different with medications though so you have to check with that but as for food it will be safe unless stated
  11. You better hope she doesn't see that. My mom is a good cook but sometimes she likes to try to modify things and I tell her it tastes bad when she does that but my dad tries to make her think it's good(even though you can tell by his face he is choking it down) so then she makes it again So now I cook myself when I know she is "experimenting" with...
  12. If you want a doctor you can go to this homepage and scroll down and there is a link with recommended doctors for celiacs. You can click on your state and the doctors recommended will show up. Alot of doctors do not know what they should and it does get frustrating when you have them tell you it's in your head, we can't find anything wrong, blah blah blah...
  13. I think that would only apply to their flavored yogurts.
  14. Same here...I'm sure that Stoneyfield may have some gluten free products but the "traces of gluten" scares me a bit
  15. I sent you a PM in regards to your question you had for me. I tried to respond to the email but it said something about your email address being down and sent it right back so I used the PM..hope you got it Anyways, yes it sure can be in families like that. The full panel of celiac disease is the following: Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA Anti-Gliadin (AGA...
  16. Please do not respond here. This is a duplicate post
  17. jknnej-Some of my symptoms are the same ones you have...weight loss, nausea. I also have graves(hyperthyroid) Maybe your thyroid changed since then or maybe it is something different.Hopefully you get an answer soon
  18. I have an extremely low blood pressure and my mom does as well. My endocrinologist says it is because of our thyroid but I am sure there are other things that can cause it. My mom runs about 98/56
  19. They carry them at a Sam's Club near us. I'll have to go there sometime. Do they sell ones with regular sugar? I would rather have the sugar then the sugar substitutes.
  20. Canola Oil is safe
  21. Have you had your thyroid checked? Some of your symptoms resemble those of my mom and I who both have thyroid issues...I have hyper and my mom has hypo. Blood sugar can also cause those symptoms...are you hypoglycemic?
  22. Yes, we all have those days when we need people to talk to . The objective of what I said was not to make the person feel guilty by pointing with cancer. The objective was to show we have it alot better and to look at the good things rather then the bad. If you read my whole post I said I see where you are coming from and I understand...hey I have been...
  23. Maltodextrin in the US is safe unless stated on the label...everyone in the US must follow this on labeling..not just certain companies. It is usually made from corn but if not they must label it It's different with medications though..then you have to call and confirm.
  24. I see where you are coming from and understand but if you think about it do we really have it that bad? A woman we know (42) was a cancer survivor now they found out she has cancer in her liver, lungs, and breasts. She has 3 kids under the age of 6 A girl(15) we know is in the hospital with cancer right now. Some people have absolutely no place...
  25. Your doctor must not know a whole lot about celiac. Maybe you should consider seeing one who knows a bit more about it. If you are a celiac ignoring the diet you increase cancer chances by 40-100 times...you have more of a chance to get diabetes, osteoporosis, kidney/pancreas/liver/gallbladder disorders, and many more life threatening or disabling diseases...
