  1. Interesting...I think it's great to have something available to help with reactions after gluten is accidentally ingested. I hope people don't get the impression they can start eating gluten again with this product though.
  2. I would definitely recommend getting tested for celiac. You should see a GI doctor who is familiar with celiac. Symptoms may not always tell because some people do not get any symptoms and they vary among people. I would also get testing for food allergies and intolerances. Good luck
  3. Yea, same thing with me. Some things just aren't for an empty stomach I guess...whatever works
  4. aww...I'm sorry this happened to you. I know exactly what you mean though...I have some relatives the same way. It gets old but I have learned not to trust them with this and when I go there I have to just be extra alert . I usually end up bringing my own food because it's just to risky to eat there. Hope the BBQ goes well....and feel better soon
  5. docklearfan-Thanks for your kind words We talk about everything on here...no question is stupid and if we can help we will So ask anytime
  6. Yes,but the bummer is it still leaves us with rye, barley, and oats to look for. So we still have to be very careful but at least this takes some work off of us
  7. Michelle~ Yep I agree with you completely about the hetero thing but you never know these days so I thought I would specify because I didn't want anyone asuming anything Anyway, I'm in Maryland. If I'm ever up your way I'll let ya know I also love to get new people. I'm a people person..so that being said...anyone feel free to email or IM me
  8. Yes, I have had to complain...they need the customer feedback so they know what they are doing wrong so they can fix it.
  9. You can have gluten withdrawal symptoms. It is quite an adjustment for your body to go through and it takes a little time to get used to that. Also, it may take a while for symptoms to go away so definitely don't think it will be a quick fix because you don't want to set yourself up to be disappointed. When I first went gluten free I was really tired...
  10. That's what I did for a while at first too. I just got on here for information but then I realized the information I knew could help other people on here so I figured I would post more and then I got addicted. I belong to about 4 groups I think but I only really participate here, only sometimes on the other ones...thats all I have time for otherwise I would...
  11. The Mission brand is at the regular supermarket
  12. I also use the Mission tortillas because they mark gluten free right on them and they taste excellent.

ARCHIVED Looking For Doc In Nyc

Also, if you go to the homepage of this website and scroll down there is a link to recommended doctors by other celiacs. You can look at all the ones in your state too.
  14. Symptoms you have are ones that can accompany celiac. It's hard to tell from symptoms alone because some people don't get any and for others they vary. It's definitely worth getting tested for.
  15. I would have to say that you should not buy it anymore. If you have to have your orange juice maybe you could get a mini fridge and keep it in a room that he can't get into but it should not be in the house if he can get to it. It's just not worth having your child sick. If he is craving orange juice though maybe there is something in it that he is missing...
  16. You should call in advance and see if they can accomodate this. You should be able to bring food along with you and if you talk to them you may be able to get fridge space.
  17. The one in the pic with me(the taller one) is Chelsey. She is one of my really good friends and 22 years old. However, she is married. I have other friends that are free though

    ARCHIVED Protien Bars

There are some Balance bars that are gluten free. Just check the label because they will not hide anything They will list wheat, rye, barley, oats if it contains any
  19. Whey has to do with milk Carrie-I am not sure if Planters is a division of Kraft...if it is then it would not hide anything on labels
  20. If I remember correctly, Miracle Whip is a Kraft brand correct? Kraft will not hide anything so the ingredients are safe unless the label says wheat, rye, barley, oats right on it
  21. -You need to check with Chinese food always. The places I have gone they knew nothing of what I was talking about and so we didn't eat there. They use soy sauce alot too so I would think they have gluten in alot of dishes -I am pretty sure planters peanuts would be fine, but you should call if you are in question. I eat certain ones by them but you should...

  23. Hang in there! I'm sure you will start to feel better. It sounds like you already react when you have gluten. And your not stupid...everyone has those mistakes..we just have to learn from them(and it took me a while to learn from them)
