  1. It's mainly female...but I think there are more males then we may have thought. Females have them outnumbered on here though. I wish there was more on here though
  2. If they were grown in the same place as wheat that can pose a contamination threat.
  3. We called the company to verify the flavors that we use were gluten free. We did not check on everything but I know the FreshBurst is gluten free.
  4. The full panel is those tests plus the Total Serum (IgA)
  5. Yes, alot of Tostitos are gluten free. We eat them too and the company said they were ok
  6. Well this site will help you out with information. Alot of people on here are well informed even more so then most doctors. It sounds to me you still have gluten in the diet. We can have a lot of good things. There are some safe brands such as Kraft(the rest of the companies are in many threads but if you can't find them let me know) that will not hide...
  7. Yep I ditto what celiac3270 just said. If it is in one of the safe companies who will not hide anything then you do not have to call. For other brands you have to call and you can just ask if the product is gluten free and that's a specific enough question.
  8. Sounds worth being tested for. She seems like she has some symptoms and definitely something not to ignore.

    ARCHIVED Dentists

That is related with celiac. I have a dentist who pointed out I had little dark spots that almost looked like cavities in my back teeth but they were not cavities. He told me to talk to my doctor about it because it was related with things like celiac. My regular doctor was the one that blew me off and told me to talk to my dentist...then I of course switched...
  10. Sleep is definitely connected with celiac. I used to always need sleep no matter how much sleep I got I was always tired and had the worst time getting to sleep.
  11. I personally stay away from oats. The ones in the U.S are contaminated with wheat. Also, some celiacs do react to the protein in oats called avenin. I agree it would be a great addition but I do feel it is too risky at least at this point. I think if you found oats that were grown, and manufactured in an oats only environment then that would be the only way...
  12. All growing up I felt healthy until a few years ago when the celiac symptoms started. I thought I was going to die and I felt really sick and thought I would never get better. Now, I feel healthy again and don't consider myself sick even though others may think that because I can't have certain things...but that's not my problem. I agree with you celiac...
  13. If it comes back negative you can't rule out celiac though so it still may be a problem. Some blood tests are very accurate with a slim to none chance of being wrong. I have heard of false negatives in some tests but you don't hear much about false positives. They detected those levels because there is some problem that indicates celiac. It is true if...
  14. It's definitely by far my favorite!
  15. I thought the calcium one had natural flavor? If it does then its probably not safe
  16. Yes, their pure premium with no additives though.
  17. Yep the only thing of theirs that is gluten free is Pure Premiums with no additives which sucks. I talked to them about it last year and they told me I should have just the regular orange juice with nothing added. I was bummed to because they have some really good flavors that I liked pre gluten free. Hopefully they will get with the program soon....until...
  18. Yeah that is how I think of it. When I get glutened it is hard to get out and painful but I still go every day.
  19. You are the best Nisla!!
  20. Well your son definitely has celiac and there is a major link between diabetes and celiac so this is one misinformed doctor. Doctors need to be questioned alot more ...I think that they think we are dumb and take what they say as the gospel or something These kind of doctors anger me. So what if there are no symptoms...why not catch it as soon as possible...
  21. This is the complete panel: Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgG Anti-Endomysial (EMA) IgA Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA Total Serum IgA These are all bloodtests
  22. Some doctors prefer to do a blood test and endoscopy. My GI doctor did not want to do a biopsy since the #'s on my blood test clearly indicated celiac. I know that the tTG blood test is very specific(and detects damage in the intestines) and will be taking the place of biopsies in kids in the near future as well. The complete panel is very accurate and...
  23. 4 is old enough to be tested. The tTG is a good test for celiac but I really recommend getting a full panel done.
  24. First, you should not go gluten free until after all testing is complete. This can heal damage and cause the results to be false. Did you have blood tests done? Some tests are very specific...I was diagnosed from blood tests alone. Also, if you did have a negative biopsy that will not rule out celiac. That just says there is no damage that they can find...
