  1. For breakfast this morning, we're having oven roasted veggies and Beyond Meat chicken free strips with rice. My kids don't always eat regular breakfast foods like oatmeal very well so sometimes it's easier just to fix something else that they enjoy more. And hey, if my kids want veggies for breakfast, all the more power to them. LOL! We had a late night...
  2. One go to for me is oven baked homemade fries.
  3. I tried their scallops and I didn't care for them. I plan on trying their "tuna" and "smoked salmon" next.
  4. Georgia_guy, that is one of the best descriptions that I have heard of the gluten free diet.
  5. I did bake it. It seems to have gotten done, as the juices ran clear. The cat didn't eat very much though. Do you think that it was the texture? Should I grind it up some? The cat was hanging out at the door purring as it was cooking and hubby theorized that he could smell it cooking.
  6. So, do you need ice to go with it? Or does it stay cool solely off being plugged in? What happens when you turn your car off? Thanks in advance.
  7. I would drive about an hour out of my way for a dedicated gluten free restaurant.
  8. I have no clue about the biopsy part. But it sounds like either way, celiac is pretty much a sure thing, unless you have some other medical explanation for the sky high Ttg.
  9. No real answers, but I'm sorry that you're experiencing this. Neurological problems are so scary!
  10. I'm cooking a chicken tonight. In all my 32 years of life, I have never cooked a chicken before. But my kitty cat is part of the family and I want him to have homemade food too sometimes. So I'm taking the plunge and hoping that the chicken turns out okay. And considering that the cat is the only one who's going to eat it (and I've never seen him salt and...
  11. I don't remember. I think that maybe BRM flour mix? I don't know how the fish sticks compare to regular since I've never had regular fish sticks. But they are tasty and safe!
  12. LOL! I've been having a heartfelt desire to have a real celiac cook for me. I miss eating other people's cooking. This weekend, a lady who claimed to be sensitive to gluten wanted to cook for me. I asked her a few questions about her kitchen and then graciously turned down her offer and told her that it was really no trouble to bring my own food....
  13. Sorry. It's too bad that all of us celiac.com people aren't neighbors. I would totally lend you my doughnut pan!
  14. It is very good! When I took them to the fall fest last year, one of the little kids who did the doughnut eating contest with the regular doughnuts said to his Grandma, "Grammy, the blueberry ones were way better than the ones that we ate for the contest!" The kid who said that, did not know that they were baked or that they were gluten free!
  15. I never really ate many doughnuts pre-gluten-free anyway nor did I miss them 99.9% of the time after going gluten-free. So probably my perspective is different due to that.
  16. They're only 98 calories.....
  17. I'm going to go get myself some vegan "seafood" from the health food store and have it for supper. So thrilled to find a company that makes vegan fish analogs that are all gluten free! They even have vegan, gluten free, soy free canned "tuna." I could totally see where they would up the convenience factor if I threw that with some packets of mayo into...
  18. Here's my recipe: http://preventionrd.com/2011/07/orange-glazed-blueberry-doughnuts/ I just sub gluten free flour for the gluten flour and do any dairy modifications needed. IIRC, you do milk, so all you would need is to swap the flour out.
  19. I'm sure that it all depends on the tastes of the person....but I made a bunch of gluten free baked doughnuts and took them to a fall festival last fall. They also had regular gluten fried doughnuts. My gluten free doughnuts were eaten much more quickly than the gluten doughnuts. Of course, the gluten doughnuts were plain ones and my gluten free ones...
  20. Gluten free baked doughnuts are super easy to make and very yummy! (and very low fat too!)
  21. I like that phrase! Good way of explaining it.
