  1. Does anyone know where the top celiac disease conventions are? Looking for a convention so I can go and sample recipes and gluten free food. I am getting discouraged very quickly because I can't find any gluten free foods I like. Tampa, FL area or any area around. If the convention is big enough I would be willing to fly.
  2. Wow, I hear what you are saying about wanting to celebrate once in a while but you really went overboard! Instead of all of those things you should have just agreed to one item and see how your body reacted. I love Stonewood and their chocolate cake is to die for. (Excuse my choice of words) I told my husband too that I might just give in once or...
  3. I was just diagnosed with celiac disease and I am a big time waffle lover. Made waffles with Bisquick and just tried the Namaste Waffle & Pancake mix and was not happy. Is there anything better out there that taste close to regular waffles? Please help, I am about to fold and just have a regular waffle. :( :(
  4. Ancel Coconut on top? I am a new to celiac disease and foods. Ancel Coconut? Is this something you sprinkle on top once the cake is done or sprinkle on top of the batter before you put in the oven to cook?
  5. Is Minute White Rice ok to eat?
  6. I hear what you both are saying, but if one Dr. is better than another it helps one from wasting their time. It's not that he or she is saying these are bad doctors. They may just be saying that they aren't as experienced with celiac disease as we would want them to be.
  7. Are the tostados ok to eat at Taco Bell without the sauce and are snickers ok to eat? Also, I read that mono and diglyceride are sometimes not safe but Edy's says their mono and diglycerides are: naturally-occurring emulsifiers obtained from the fat of soybeans and vegetable oils. Does this mean it's ok to have Edy's Neopolitan Ice Cream? Please say...
  8. If you do go and see Kenny, spend the money to get up front. He is that good and next time we will spend two to three hundred per ticket. We don't go to many concerts but this one is worth it!
  9. Thanks! Great song by Kenny. Just saw him in concert in Tampa, FL

    ARCHIVED Candy

    Perfect! Thank you!
  11. Ok, I am sure you are all getting tired of my posts but I have so many questions that are popping up as I read others posts. If my husband has a regular beer or sandwich do I need to avoid kissing him? Is it true if someone uses a knife in the peanut butter and then spreads it on their bread and then back in to the jar I need to avoid that jar?...

    ARCHIVED Candy

Does anyone know of any regular candy or cany bars that are ok to eat? Sorry I am being lazy and would rather ask than do the research!
  13. I know these aren't normal test results but are they say normal for someone who is newly diagnosed with celiac disease or are they considered extremly high? TTG Antibody, is > 100 should be around <5 Gliadin Anitibody IGG is 27 should be <11 Gliadin Antibody IGA is 87 should be <11 Tissue Transglutaminase (IGG, IGA) TTG Antibody...
  14. zeer.com It's a site that lists foods that are gluten fee and shows which foods you should stay away from. This website (the one we are on) recommended it.

    ARCHIVED Vitamins

I just found out that Costco carries Kirkland Signature Vitamins and they are Gluten Free!
  16. There isn't anyone out there who has used this website?
  17. I am on Zeer's website which is very helpful. I am wondering if you are only allowed to get the foods that have check marks (which means Labled as gluten free) or is it ok to get the products with a question mark (which means Appears to be gluten free). I am newly diagnosed so trying to figure out just how picky you have to be when buying products.

    ARCHIVED Vitamins

Are One A Day Women's Vitamins ok to take? If not, what vitamins for a 40 year old are ok to take and where can you get them?
  19. Thanks! I am new to all of this so I have many questions. So if there is a concern for cross contamination then how does anyone with celiac disease go out to eat? If this one restaurant which only makes burgers and fries is risky then what about all of the other restaurants out there? Even if the burger is gluten free, do you really have to worry about...
  20. Just wondering how many people are out there who have celiac disease and were later diagnosed with cancer? How long did they have celiac disease and how much later were they diagnosed with cancer or other serious problems? I as because I have read that with celiac disease you are at a higher risk of getting cancer.
  21. What is CC? Also how is it "way too dangerous with just buns" vs. the average restaurant?
  22. Oh great! I am learning everyday. I thought corn flakes were safe to eat and now you point out they have malt. I guess there is another box of cereal I have to take off my list. Rice Chex is the only one so far!
  23. I love Five Guys Burgers and would like to continue to eat there. My question is this, if I go there and ask them to prepare my meat with a clean spatula and not put it on a bun is that good enough? Do they need to cook my meat on a different part of the grill because the spatula they have been using for all of the other burgers have possibly touched the...
  24. I live in Tampa, FL and just went to Dr. Feldman last Monday and he did blood work and since my tests came back pointing to celiac disease he scheduled me yesterday for a Colonoscopy which confirmed his diagnosis. His number is 813-972-2324.
  25. Can I still eat Quaker Oats if I was diagnosed with celiac disease?
