  1. I noticed lots of you have your pet on there, and I want to add mine. I went in my controls and then went under the avatar (whatever that is??) and is that how I do it? then it keeps saying mind is too big and it won't put anything on there. I dont know what to do, or how to make it smaller either. it says it will auto adjust it but it won't.
  2. I was doing well with this, not upset much, but now I am getting just - oh what is the word, discouraged? yes. because I have been on this diet for several weeks now and I haven't noticed change at all, now I'm in tears. I'm trying so hard! I'm still bloated, this morning I woke up 2 pounds heavier than yesterday morning, and I barely ate yesterday, just...
  3. I bought a big pack of mushrooms at costco thinking I was going to make mushroom omelette's and now they are starting to turn color and I need to use them up today! Does anyone have any idea for a dinner I could make tonight using up a bunch of mushrooms?? I can't think of a thing. Thanks! ps, I have chicken breasts, pork chops and hamburger currently...
  4. I tried calling Costco but I got someone who had no idea what she was talking about. The brand is Kirkland Signature Mexican Blend and here are the ingredients: monterey jack, medium cheddar, queso quesadilla and asadero cheeses (cultured pasteurized milk, salt, enzymes, artificial color [in cheddar chese]), potato starch and powdered cellulose added...
  5. Can someone tell me a specific blood type test I can ask my doctor to order to test for other food allergies/intolerances? I'm not doing well AT ALL with an elimination diet, and I'm still not feeling great, so I thought if I could find out a place to start with things, that would help. The problem is, when I asked her about it, she sent me to an allergist...
  6. I dont know if this helps, but a book I'm reading, "gluten free cooking for dummies" says that the whole thing about plastic storage containers holding gluten is a myth. The authors say to just wash them and they are fine.
  7. Thank you guys!!! You are all awesome. I dont know why I was getting so upset about cream of rice last night!! LOL And I couldn't find it anywhere, I even when to that bg foods that dada posted! what a dork I am. I find the ugly stepsister comment hysterical! And, I did find it at safeway in a tiny little box next to the bigger and more beautiful cream...
  8. I called about the rice cakes. I knew they were going to say there was cross contamination likely, but they told me they have a new product coming out that will be marked gluten free! I asked if that meant it was going to be made in a gluten free facility and she indicated that it was (I'm not believe it 100% yet though because she seemed just a tad uncertain...
  9. I can't find a website with this product to find out what company makes it! Is it still available? I have a huge craving for it and it used to be Nabisco, but if you go to their website there is no cream of rice. I even checked B&G which makes cream of wheat now, but no cream of rice. Do you think they stopped making it??
  10. for me, the new symptoms that have started only after stopping gluten are constant insane all over body itching-where you want to get a fork and scratch the heck out of yourself. constant hunger, like I'm starving to death!! restless leg-which could be because of iron deficiency but it just started when I quit gluten. crazy irritability out of the blue...
  11. I use their lip balm, but I can't stand the smell of any of their lotion type products. To me it STINKS! I wish I did like them though, it would make life easier!
  12. This is what I started doing after I realized I would never be able to tell what bothered me if I didn't do something drastic. I found somewhere online that you should start with simple foods: meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, rice and potatoes, and use salt, pepper, olive oil to season. I am doing this for at least 2 weeks. It's not as bad as I thought...
  13. Ok that makes me MAD!!!!! I just called them too, and I got the same story! "barley is used in the processing and it's broken down in the cooking process, it has been tested and gluten is below detectable limits, but if you are very sensitive you might want to not use it" Well that is ASININE!!!! I just bought a whole thing of it at Costco and I used...
  14. I dont see any barley enzyme in my rice dream. the ingredients in original are as follows: Filtered water organic brown rice organic expeller pressed safflower and/or sunflower oil and/or canola oil Tricalcium Phosphate Sea Salt Vitamin A Palmitate Vitamin D2 Vitamin B12 Is anything in that gluten? I don't see anything.
  15. I do have a lot of spices from Costco. Maybe I'll try to call them and see what they say!
  16. sounds really good. I can't wait til we move so I can buy some and try it. They dont have any here.
  17. and both of them have a list of gluten free spices, however they both pack their spices in a facility with items that do contain gluten, and while they both clean their lines periodically, neither of them test their "gluten free" spices for gluten at all. I know a bunch of people are going to get defensive and say they use this brand or that brand all the...
  18. I got a recipe from Libby's in the mail today for making your own gluten free pumkin latte. I can post it if anyone wants it. I don't drink coffee but I noticed a lot of talk about this drink lately
  19. I ate a tamale tonight, I didn't see any gluten listed but it could have been cc'd or something. Anyway , I felt really FULL right away, my stomach is bloated out but then it hasn't gone down yet, and I have these little pains all over my stomach, not BAD pains but enough to be noticed and not feel well. Then I am burping up chunks of undigested food like...
  20. Thank you for your response. I will call and ask our doctor if she can order the ttg IgG test too, of course I'll have to take him back in to get poked again. I've seen enterolab but I'm not sure we can afford that right now, I am giving it some thought though. Do you guys think the oldest one is fine even though his result was 18 on a 0-19 scale...
  21. No I haven't tried the flakes. I have just tried the regular, I have the white and the red, and I have made just white and a mix of each with this recipe. I really like quinoa! If it weren't for Celiac, I would have never tried it!
  22. This is so good and I can't STOP eating it!!! It's so weird, I've never had a food I couldn't stop eating before but I literally ate the entire first batch I made in one day! Then I made another batch the next day and everytime I open the fridge I have to take it out and eat some! It's not my recipe, I got it off allrecipes.com, but I made a few changes...
  23. bumping this up, still hoping for some more replies
  24. Wow I could have written this myself!! I am the only 1 of 5 currently eating gluten free too! And I feel like all I do all day long is wipe the counters down! (3 kids here too!) So far I have been using a dishrag, followed by a sponge I have marked Gluten FREE, and then lysol wipes. I also change the dishrag out several times a day, and the dishtowel...
  25. I don't have any statistics or anything true about this to tell you, but I can tell you my personal experience. I am diagnosed with celiac disease, I am overweight, and my belly sticks out like it's 9 mos pregnant a LOT. I usually can't wear jeans, and most of my pants are loose sweat or lounge type pants. Even when I can lose weight, I still have to wear...
