  1. I keep repeating to myself that the damage is on the inside. Somehow I still feel like this is a big trick people are playing on me..
  2. I think I was glutened a couple of times this week, but it's hard to tell because my symptoms were always pretty mild. I'm expecting them to get more pronounced the longer I go without but right now I can't tell if I've accidentally had gluten or if it's just a coincidence. My biggest symptoms have been a little bloating and some gurgling. I almost wish there...
  3. I wish I could offer some encouraging words for you but all I have is a bit of sympathy on the scared and embarrassed part.
  4. If you weren't aware, there's a gluten free restaurant in Cedar Park. I haven't been yet but the menu shows a lot of comfort-type foods. Open Original Shared Link
  5. I think I saw gluten free spaghettios at Whole Foods.
  6. Your snarky cynicism pleases and amuses me.
  7. I just posted about this very same issue, and found that lots of people experienced the shortness of breath. Mine hasn't gotten better but evidently it will! Here's the other topic if you want to read through it: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=63183
  8. Nope, I'd never heard of them. Maybe I can find them at Whole Foods. (edit) My local store's site has them listed. I'll give them a shot.. hopefully not too expensive.
  9. I think anxiety just made the problem worse for a day, but I'm convinced it's not the underlying problem. It's been going on since I was 18 and it happens day or night, no matter what I've got going on. The day I posted this topic it was worse than normal but that could've been because of allergies or something.. it was enough for me to notice it had increased...
  10. What about toaster ovens? I scrubbed the rack and then laid foil on top of it. If I need to toast something for my boyfriend I'll just remove the foil and then replace it later. I thought that would do the trick. No?
  11. I feel like it's getting easier now.. For a few days it was really bad but I'm sure it was worse because I was thinking about it. I took a Xanax at one point so I would calm down. I think it was a mix of anxiety and maybe iron loss (my aunt was in town). I still have the issue but compared to those couple of days I feel much more normalized. Thanks for...
  12. That's actually quite comforting.. thanks!
  13. Now that I absolutely 100% relate to. I'm in school 3/4 time and work full time. I struggle to find time to manage everyday things like cleaning the kitchen or spending a few minutes with my boyfriend or exercise (ha!). Cooking was always the least of my concerns because I could find something easy to make that minute. Now I have to set aside time to plan...
  14. Hooray! Am I to understand then that the rice cakes currently out there are in danger of having gluten? That would explain some things.. I had the apple cinnamon and the caramel flavors here the last couple of weeks.
  15. That makes sense, but that same argument applies to lots of things.. and because it does i'm going to stop there because I almost always have opinions about these things that people don't like.
  16. Amazon has it.. (edit) Wow ok so an Amazon link was banned.... ooookay. Google search for cream of rice, it was the first listing.
  17. Resurrecting an old topic here.. The containers still don't say gluten-free on them. Did anyone ever call? I may do so tomorrow since I've been curious.
  18. Maybe I've missed some history here, but how is it supportive to tell someone who just needs to rant that it's his own fault for not doing the homework and he should buck up and stop complaining? As a newbie I find that pretty disheartening.
  19. I've had iron and B12 deficiencies for a while. Last time I had blood work the B12 was back up but no word on the iron. I'm due to have it tested again in a couple of months but in the meantime I'm still taking supplements on top of multi-vitamins.
  20. I'm in a period of experimentation and trying to determine if any outside influences are affecting my sex drive, which has always been quite low. Has anyone noticed any difference in libido after going gluten free (I'm hoping for up rather than down..)?
  21. The last couple of years I've made a pumpkin bread for my family as my single contribution to Thanksgiving (my dad resists any outside influence in his masterpiece). I found a recipe for a gluten-free version that I'm going to try out this year Open Original Shared Link For other recipes I've also been turning to this website: Open Original Shared...
