  1. Do you have Crockpot? You can cook a turkey breast in it and it's delicious! Also, Costco has rotisserie type turkey breasts that's are gluten-free and delicious ( I have been told). I have some family members with sodium issues so I usually start as fresh and unprocessed as possible.
  2. Ohhhhh! A fancy doctor! Lol. We have a few here and people LOVE them! I hope it works well for you.
  3. Now, I'm going to answer your question. I don't know about TJ's chicken but I am betting, if they are uncooked, they will be gluten-free or have no gluten ingredients.... Just from past experience.
  4. You just posted a question! You should have put it in the product section... But it works the same way. I'll move it over there. When you are new, your first few posts have to wait for a mod to read and approve them. I'll try to get Admin to change the title to reflect your question.
  5. I think the long term effect for a gluten sensitivity will depend on what is causing them. Because there are at least 5 or 6 reasons I can think of, and who knows how many reasons I don't know for it, it will be hard to know. To me, it seems that the best thing would be to rule out Celiac and then look from there.
  6. Her appointment isn't about diagnosing you. Just go in with her actual symptoms for a physical, and ask for the blood work. They (her symptoms) should stand on their own. Hopefully they will also check her thyroid and for anemia (a symptom of Celiac). She is still a minor, so it is normal/required that you be there.
  7. I think your kids will just have to get tested before going gluten free and see? It's always easier to follow the gluten-free diet, and get others to respect it, with a diagnosis. For example, Many colleges won't accomadate gluten-free without a diagnosis.
  8. I eat there often. It is very safe for Celiacs. it sounds like you have issues other than Celiac from some of your other posts. I think the crust is mainly rice and potato last I looked.
  9. A surgery can trigger Celiac. However, I hope you see your surgeon about these problems. Just to make sure there isn't a complication of your surgery that is causing issues. Also, make sure you are eating the way you should for the bypass. Some people don't follow the limits and eating style/ diet that goes with such a drastic digestive change. ( I know...
  10. You are just lucky! You caught it early. But be careful thinking that you can purposefully cheat because your symptoms aren't extreme..... That can add up. It causes damage, even if you don't feel it. "The gluten-free diet is a lifetime requirement. Eating any gluten, no matter how small an amount, can damage your intestine. This is true for anyone...
  11. I love that for breakfast, too! I lay out my little slices of smoked turkey or ham and sprinkle shredded cheese on them and microwave briefly. I fold them in half - I guess mine aren't really rolled up..... Lol
  12. I go to Starbucks regularly. This seems to be a big CYA statement on the cc issue. There are gluten things in a Starbucks and they have chosen to do no training for gluten cc, etc. Many companies see the statement of "gluten free" as a big legal issue. Most Starbucks will let you read the ingredients on the flavor bottle. The problem is that...
  13. There are no medicines at this time that allow a Celiac to eat gluten. There is one being developed by legitimate medical researchers, but it isn't available now. Open Original Shared Link I still don't understand why a parent would not treat your medical condition. Celiac is a medical condition - just like strep throat or diabetes. Perhaps the two...
  14. Here is a good place to start - https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/ Basically the things I see most often - Wheat, rye, barley, malt, barley malt, oats (in a product not labelled gluten-free, need gluten-free oats), spelt, couscous, soy sauce (should list wheat somewhere in the ingredients & some don't have wheat like...
  15. Maybe you are allergic to wheat?
  16. As a mom, I have to ask - What is wrong with your parents? Why are they not helping and insisting you treat your medical condition? If you had diabetes, would they not be insisting on testing blood sugars and insulin injections? A peanut allergy - not having PB in The house? If you had strep throat, wouldn't they be getting you antibiotics? How will...
  17. I'm just curious, why not see a doctor? Get tested for Celiac and other medical causes? see an OB/ GYN and see if you really have endometriosis and get help for that? I guess my recommendation is to see an MD or two. I worry there is something wrong that you could get fixed.
  18. Sorry, I'm not clear. It looks like they did not run any tests for celiac antibodies. That looks like the test to see if he is capable of making the IGA antibodies that a celiac blood test will look for. You can print off a page from .the Univ of Chicago to show the doctor about testing.
  19. If you don't have the total IGA run to see if he even makes the IGA stuff, it's not very conclusive. Show the doc info from other doctors: Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  20. Why are you going gluten-free? Maybe you don't need to? Maybe you have removed an important source of fiber or something else by going gluten-free? Or added more of some other food?
  21. I guess I have never eaten gluten in a large amount to worry about that. I have only gotten a teeny bit of CC a couple of times. But changing a toothbrush is probably a good idea - especially if you ate something big like a mislabeled hamburger bun. Its a pretty easy and cheap thing to do.
  22. I would think that a diagnosis of Celiac would be important in this case. Even if you could convince your Grandpa to eat gluten-free without one, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities. etc have no reason to even attempt to feed him gluten-free without a diagnosis. I think you should push for a blood test before he goes gluten free. It...
  23. We have a couple of different bakers for different areas. Our news just said the toffee were new & the other 2 were gluten-free. The original link looked like just 1 gluten-free cookie. I will buy a box, just to encourage this.
  24. They just said on our local news that we will have 2 gluten-free cookies in our area - the Trio one and an oatmeal raisen one. Both oat based.
  25. The breweries I have seen use a high pressure super hot water spray as part of the sterilizing process. i think they are saying that they clean the equipment well.
