ARCHIVED Could This Neuropathy Caused By Celiacs Disease, Or Gluten Sensitivity?
kareng replied to casson's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
This sounds like something you should speak to a doctor about immediately. It does not sound like Celiac to me. The sudden onset of these symptoms makes this seem like a very serious issue. -
ARCHIVED Awakening To Possibility Of Celiac's
kareng replied to Marcus B's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You should certainly be tested for Celiac. However, you need to be eating gluten for the testing to work. It is very common to lose your close vision by your late 30's or early 40's - for all people - Celiac or not. Sorry. Open Original Shared Link -
Glutened By Barilla Pasta Sauce
kareng replied to Bravie's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Just an FYI - This thread is from 2008. The pasta is certified gluten-free and made in a dedicated gluten-free facility. http://www.barilla.com/gluten-free-pasta -
I doubt that little bit of gluten did that. Open Original Shared Link "Will exposure to gluten during pregnancy cause any problems with the baby? Stay gluten-free during pregnancy and rest assured nothing gluten-related will happen to the baby. Inadvertent, minimal exposures (if not repeated) are meaningless for the health of pregnancy. Your not using the same colander to drain or rinse non-gluten-free things are you? There is really no way to clean each and every teeny hole to get the gluten out. You shouldn't be rinsing fruit or draining gluten-free pasta in the gluteny one. You say that you know he is getting glutened when he gets DH.... getting glutened will keep the antibody levels...

Check the Taco Bell website - almost every food there, including the taco meat, have gluten in it. If you are "starving" , stop at a Quick Trip/ convenience type store. You can get nuts, sunflower seeds, many types of chips, yogurt, cheese, etc.

Having a gene for Celiac does not mean you have Celiac. Open Original Shared Link "Genetics don’t diagnose celiac disease. They do, however, clarify whether an individual is “at-risk” for it. If this is the case, you should closely monitor your symptoms and submit to blood tests every 2-3 years or immediately upon the sight of symptoms. When the genet...

ARCHIVED Negative On Everything But Endomysial?
kareng replied to lisamhanderson's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Oh.... I did not know about the tadpole! That's trickier. I think, I would be gluten-free and worry about re- testing and eating gluten a year from now. Just my opinion. -
ARCHIVED Confused By Results?
kareng replied to lalalove's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
She has asked this question in her own topic here - https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/110877-negative-on-everything-but-endomysial/#entry940407 Might be easiest to keep all the answers in one place? -
ARCHIVED Negative On Everything But Endomysial?
kareng replied to lisamhanderson's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Let's see what tests were actually run and what the results were. It is possible that you are in the very early stages of Celiac Disease and havent built up enough antibodies yet? If that is the case, you could continue eating gluten and get tested again in 6 months to a year? -

ARCHIVED Stool Results Vs. Seeing Gastrointestinologist
kareng replied to mebrown5's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
What Celiac blood tests did you have? When you said "stool tests" to diagnoses Celiac, I assumed you didn't go to an actual MD. IF you did not go to an MD, the "blood tests" may not be reliable, either. -
ARCHIVED Stool Results Vs. Seeing Gastrointestinologist
kareng replied to mebrown5's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I am not sure how you could be diagnosed with Celiac by a stool test? I would suggest you continue eating gluten and see a GI if you want a diagnosis of Celiac. I would think you would want to know for sure before you make this change to your life? Open Original Shared Link Why don’t you recognize tests (stool tests or otherwise) for non-celiac gluten s... -

kareng replied to jess-gf's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I made some pulled pork in the crockpot so the last 2 days we have and sandwiches with Gates BBQ sauce on it and a vinegar (not evil mayo) based coleslaw. Add a tart apple, like granny smith, to the coleslaw! So good! Tonight we are having chicken mole enchiladas with a rice with some veggies in it 0 carrot, peas, corn, peppers. Tomorrow night we... -

Just want to point out - the health report quoted by the OP has nothing to do with any Pizza Hut. It is a health inspection report from another restaruant.

ARCHIVED Celiac Endoscopy Results
kareng replied to debbie414's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Sounds like you need postitve blood tests, too? If your Celiac blood test were negative, I think you need to bug the GI to find the reason for the abnormal biopsy. -
IF you actually have the flu - My big healthy son, without Celiac, got the flu. It turned into a sinus infection and an eye infection and took him a couple of months to be back to his usual self. The flu can be really rough, and even life threatening, for everyone. It does take a while to get over - but eating is important during and after to get your...
